Wolves and Fulham ready to swoop as West Ham want to get transfer flop's wages 'off the books'
Wolves have the opportunity to sign some players when the January transfer window opens up

Wolves have turned to Rob Edwards as their replacement for Vitor Pereira. The ex-Watford and Luton Town man has left Middlesbrough in the Championship to return to Molineux. He played for the Midlands club during his playing days before a spell as a coach.

Edwards has inherited a team who sit bottom of the Premier League table. They are inside the drop zone along with West Ham and Nottingham Forest after their first 11 fixtures of the season. Eight points separate them from safety behind Burnley in 17th position.

Wolves have the chance to bring in some new players when the January transfer window opens up for business. They could do with injecting some more quality into their ranks. Edwards will be keen to put his own stamp on the squad.

Former Everton CEO Keith Wyness believes they want West Ham striker Niclas Fullkrug along with Fulham. He has said, as per a report by Football Insider: "I heard a whisper the other day that either Wolves or Fulham might be interested in taking Fullkrug. I'm hearing Wolves might be one club who are interested in taking him on and giving him a chance to do something and stay in the Premier League.

"Look, I know there'll be interest for him back in Germany. He did very well there, and players often don't settle in the Premier League for whatever reason. He hasn't and there's been injuries as well. I think he will be gone in January, but I wouldn't be surprised if he stays in the Premier League.

"Now whether he goes on loan or not I think that might be one way forward. I think West Ham do need to fill that gap and probably want to get his wages off the books, so I'd be waiting for a move around that sort of area."

Would West Ham's Niclas Fullkurg suit Wolves?
Wolves could see Fullkrug as someone to boost their attacking department. If he joined, he would give them more competition and depth up top. In addition, he would give them more experience and would be a useful person to have in and around the dressing room.

West Ham signed him back in 2024 and he is under contract at the London Stadium until June 2028. The Germany international, who has made 24 caps for his country, has scored three goals in 24 games since his switch to London. Prior to his move to the Hammers, he found the net on 15 occasions in 45 outings for Borussia Dortmund during his single year with the Bundesliga giants. His move to the London Stadium has not worked out with an average of a goal every eight games along with his injury troubles.

The 32-year-old has also had spells in the past with the likes of Werder Bremen, FC Nurnberg and Hannover, among others. As Wyness alluded to, his future is up in the air this winter and he may be weighing up his options. He wouldn't be a bad addition for Wolves if they managed to snap him up and they could do a lot worse.

Sources: Fulham holding talks with Marco Silva amid sack whispers
Fulham have endured a dismal start to the season so far and fingers are now being pointed at Marco Silva with some calling for his head.

Silva's side lost 2-0 to Everton last time out, meaning they have now lost five of their last six Premier League games and have plummeted down the table.

Fulham now sit in 15th place, just one point above the relegation zone, and with the likes of West Ham and Nottingham Forest showing clear improvements.

As a result, reports have suggested Silva could be sacked by Fulham, with the hierarchy at Craven Cottage set to make a decision about his future at the club.

West Ham, Forest and Wolves have already pulled the trigger this season, with Leeds considering sacking Daniel Farke, as the clubs at risk scramble for changes.

Fulham holding new contract talks with Marco Silv
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 21 October that Silva is likely to leave Fulham next summer given his contract situation.

However, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, the West London club are still in talks with the boss over a new contract and hope to put an end to any speculation by extending his stay at club long-term.

Despite whispers about his potential sacking and growing pressure on his position, Fulham remain keen to extend his stay and believe he is the right man for the job.

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: "It would come as a surprise if they were to sack him now. It seem they're still keen to sort of resolve the uncertainty over Silva's long-term future.

"He's out of contract in the summer and I think talks are ongoing over a new contract for Silva.

"But the problem for Fulham is that Marco Silva doesn't normally rush into anything. He likes to take his time over contract offers as well.
"They'll be hoping that Silva can spark a bit of a turnaround and then they'll be hoping that they can end any talk of a potential departure for Silva in coming weeks as well and sort of secure his future on a long-term contract."

However, Fulham are fearing the worst over Silva's future and the possibility that he could be tempted away given the level of interest in his signature.

Clubs set on alert by Silva sack whispers
Football Insider revealed on 10 October that Saudi Pro League clubs are interested in Silva and could make a move to lure him away from Fulham.

Meanwhile, Silva was linked with the Nottingham Forest job and Man United were interested in the Fulham boss, leading to growing uncertainty in West London.

Should the boss lose his job at any stage in the near future, there will be no shortage of interest in him, with clubs waiting in the wings to snap him up.

However, Football Insider revealed on 26 October that Fulham must prove that can match Silva's ambition if they want him to extend his stay at Craven Cottage.

This comes following a frustrating summer transfer window, which led to suggestions that Silva is not happy at Fulham due to their lack of ambition.

Internationals: Norway all but qualified
Sander Berge helped Norway all but book their World Cup place with a 4-1 win over Estonia on Thursday evening.

After a goalless first half, Norway took the game by the scruff of its neck, scoring four times in a ruthless 13 minute spell after the restart, with Berge setting up Alexander Sorloth for the opener with a beauty of a cross.

Their place in the United States, Mexico and Canada looked set to be mathematically confirmed as nearest rivals Italy floundered against Moldova, but two late goals mean it's not technically done yet.

That said, Norway's goal difference is so superior (+17) that it would take a monumental swing on the final day of qualifying for them not to bank a first World Cup appearance since 1998.

Saša Lukić played 76 minutes of Serbia's meeting with England at Wembley.

For a long time, Bukayo Saka's composed finish was the only difference between the sides, until Eberechi Eze doubled the lead in the 90th minute with an equally impressive strike.

The result, coupled with a win for Albania, means that Saša and co will not be appearing at the World Cup next year.

All three of Fulham's Naija boys were in from the start as Nigeria beat Gabon 4-1 after extra-time to progress to the final World Cup Play-Off.

An 89th minute equaliser from our former midfielder Mario Lemina forced 30 additional minutes, but Nigeria hit another gear, bagging three more goals without reply.

Calvin Bassey played the full 120, Alex Iwobi was substituted in the 108th minute, while Samuel Chukwueze was given just over an hour.

Nigeria will now go head-to-head with Congo on Sunday for a place at next summer's event.

Fulham fans 'will stop coming' – finance expert makes dark prediction after shock twist
Fulham may risk losing supporters if they continue to keep ticket prices in three figures following the redevelopment of Craven Cottage.

That is according to football finance expert Dr Dan Plumley who exclusively told Football Insider his verdict on Fulham's high prices.

Fulham have increased revenue by redeveloping Craven Cottage with a particular focus on expanding their hospitality area for use on non-matchdays.

However, ticket prices at Fulham have caused fury amongst fans, with supporters protesting about the cost of watching Premier League football at the Cottage.

Fulham fans will 'stop coming' amid ticket prices
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Plumley does not believe Fulham can continue with the ticket prices currently on offer for fans in the long-term.

"I just think you've seen that you've already seen the fans get very vocal about that in the last few days, and I think, you know, we can talk about corporate hospitality tickets, and I understand why clubs do that," Plumley said.

"People will pay that kind of money for corporate hospitality, and if you can get that and grow it, that's a valuable strategy.

"But I think charging a £100 in this in the football industry we're in right now and everything else is going on in the wider social environment, I don't think you can sustain ticket prices of £100 to regular fans.

"I just think they'll stop coming ultimately, and you run the risk of losing a few fans there.

"So, yeah, I think that too high given the context of Fulham and where they're at at the minute for the normal match day prices.

"And I think you've got to look to do it in other ways. Again, we might see them come out with high ticket prices for the next few games because, you know, they might think that's the only way they can do it."

Fulham's home form could decide Premier League status
Fulham's 3-0 win over Wolves was their second Premier League win at Craven Cottage with only Arsenal having won at the West London club this season.

However, Marco Silva's side are only one point above the relegation zone, as they have only picked up a draw on their travels so far, and could find themselves in a relegation battle.

Their home form will therefore prove vital, but Fulham have fourth placed Sunderland and title challengers Man City as their next opponents at the Cottage.

Fulham and Super Eagles centre-back Calvin Bassey has heaped praise on Nigerian youngster Benjamin Frederick following his display against Gabon yesterday, Soccernet.ng reports.

Nigeria started their World Cup qualifiers campaign with a poor approach as they were without a victory in their first four games.

Under Eric Chelle, they were able to redeem themselves, and a late flurry of wins saw them secure a play-off spot as they want to avoid missing consecutive World Cup tournaments.

Eric Chelle's men took the first step in their qualification journey last night, sealing a big win over Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's Gabon.

However, one name on everyone's lips last night was FCV Dender EH defender Benjamin Frederick.

The 20-year-old versatile defender was unplayable. He made sure nothing got past him and even went to set up Victor Osimhen's first goal of the night.

The Brentford loanee made his debut for the Nigerian National team during the 2025 Unity Cup final against Jamaica, three days after he turned 20.

Since then, Frederick has started five out of six games under Eric Chelle, knocking William Troost-Ekong out of the first team.

Fulham star urges Brentford to recall Benjamin Frederick
The Simoiben Academy graduate joined Belgian side FCV Dender EH on loan from Brentford last summer, and has played 14 games for Hayk Milkon's side.

Although he's featured as a right-back for the Super Eagles, Frederick partnered with Calvin Bassey in the Nigerian backline last night, and the Fulham defender was in awe of the youngster.

    "He's amazing. His potential is unbelievable, and he's a good kid," the former Rangers defender told Victor Modo following Nigeria's win over Gabon.

    "He wants to learn, he's down to earth, and he's unbelievable.

    "For me, I think Brentford should get him back in the first team because he's so good. He's unbelievable," Bassey concluded.

Up next for Nigeria is a clash against Sebastien Desabre's DR Congo at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdallah in Rabat on Sunday.
