Fulham Pier and The Boat Race Announce New Collaboration ahead of The CHANEL J12 Boat Race, Introducing Premium Hospitality and Fan Park Experience in 2026

Thursday, 29 January, London, UK – Fulham Pier and The Boat Race have today announced a new collaboration that will see Fulham Pier affirmed as a key riverside destination for The CHANEL J12 Boat Race, held this year on Saturday 4 April 2026 during Easter Weekend. The collaboration will introduce a premium hospitality experience set against the backdrop of one of the world's most iconic sporting events.

Steeped in heritage and watched by millions around the globe, The Boat Race is a unique and enduring symbol of sporting tradition. First contested in 1829, it remains one of the most recognisable events in British sport, celebrated for its history, rivalry and unmistakable place on the River Thames.

For 2026, Fulham Pier will offer a fresh, contemporary way to experience this historic race from the heart of the Championship Course. It will bring together front-row river views, open social spaces, a free-to-access riverside Fan Park alongside Bishops Park and premium hospitality. Visitors can expect a buzzing atmosphere of live entertainment, DJs and a vibrant food hall, alongside interactive elements such as Rowcave, the ultimate rowing race simulation where visitors can compete for the fastest time and a place on the leaderboard.

With unrivalled river views, and building on the successful opening of Fulham Pier last year, the 2026 collaboration will introduce premium hospitality packages. Hosted Blues' Club packages will offer tiered options with inclusive food and drink and official Boat Race hosts, creating an elevated way to experience the race day atmosphere from the water's edge for families, local audiences, couples and social groups alike.

Olympian and Oxford alumni Tim Foster, who won gold alongside Steve Redgrave in the Sydney Olympics, will be a speaker and host, alongside Kiwi Olympian Grace Prendergast, who rowed in the record-setting Cambridge crew in 2022.

Tim Foster commented: "The Boat Race remains one of the highlights of my rowing career and I'm looking forward to sharing my insight and recollections of the event from the comfort of the new premium hospitality space at Fulham Pier. The Boat Race was one of the greatest challenges of my career, and still a race I would like to have won!"

Building on the successful delivery of an Official Fan Park at Fulham Pier in 2025 alongside the Official Fan Park in Bishops Park, located beside the historic start of the Championship Course, the new collaboration draws on that experience as Fulham Pier joins The Boat Race's existing hospitality to complement iconic venues including Thames Rowing Club and Mortlake Anglian and Alpha Boat Club. As anticipation builds for The CHANEL J12 Boat Race, Fulham Pier's premium hospitality and Fan Park promise to offer a distinctive, contemporary perspective on a truly iconic sporting occasion. Fans can experience the full-course action from a big screen in next-door Bishop's Park.

Director of Fulham Pier Glen Sutton said: "We're proud to showcase our premium, elevated hospitality for The Boat Race, a moment that reflects the magic of London on the river. On Race Day, Fulham Pier will offer a welcoming riverside destination with front-row views and a range of ways to experience the event, from lively social spaces to elevated offerings for those looking to make a real occasion of the day".

Siobhan Cassidy, Chair of The Boat Race Company, added: "We're delighted to announce this new collaboration with Fulham Pier. The Boat Race, London's 'Party By the River', is an iconic sporting and cultural event, known for celebrating British excellence, which our new premium hospitality experience embodies."

The CHANEL J12 Boat Race will take place on the Championship Course – a 4.25-mile stretch of the tidal Thames between Putney and Mortlake known as the Tideway – on Saturday 4 April. The Women's Race takes place at 14:21 followed by the Men's Race at 15:21.

2025 saw Cambridge University win both the Men's and Women's Races, leaving the overall records as 88-81 in the favour of Cambridge Men and 49-30 in the favour of Cambridge Women.

The 2025 edition of The Boat Race was a record-breaking event, becoming the most watched female sporting event in the UK of the year at the time the event was held. It had a higher UK viewership than The Masters and Bahrain Grand Prix events held on the same weekend.

The 2026 event will be broadcast live on Channel 4 after the broadcaster won a competitive rights bid to become the exclusive free-to-air TV home of The Boat Race.

Predicted Manchester United lineup against Fulham: Cunha in for Dorgu; Zirkzee in contention
Matheus Cunha will replace Patrick Dorgu in the Manchester United starting lineup when they host Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

Manchester United will aim to continue the excellent start to life under Michael Carrick when they welcome Fulham to Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon. Michael Carrick has a new injury concern that is hampering his preparations ahead of his side's latest fixture.

Patrick Dorgu is the latest absentee after sustaining a hamstring injury that will keep him in the treatment room until March. The Danish international accompanies Matthijs de Ligt in the treatment room, with the Dutch defender recovering from a lower back injury.

However, Joshua Zirkzee should be fit and available to take on Fulham this weekend after shrugging off a minor issue. Meanwhile, during his pre-match press conference, Carrick provided fitness updates on Zirkzee and de Ligt.

The Manchester United head coach said, "Yeah, Josh is back training this week, which is good news. Obviously, first time...so he's been out for a short amount of time, but first kind of training with us since we've been here, so that's great to have Josh back."

"Josh has just been trying to work and get fit around the group. He trained yesterday for the first time and that's as far as it goes with me and Josh. I'm looking forward to working with him and nothing more needs to be said."

Meanwhile, during his press conference, Carrick also provided a fitness update on Dorgu. The Manchester United boss said, "Pat, unfortunately, he's going to be out for a period of time. We'll have to see, [it's] disappointing, he's had such a big couple of weeks, Pat. We weren't sure whether it was a little bit of cramp or whether it was something a little bit more serious and at the moment it looks a little bit more on the serious note."

"So, it'll be a few weeks for that. How many weeks? We'll have to wait and see. So, that's disappointing for all of us really, and for Pat, he's in such a good place, but unfortunately it is part of football and it's something we've got to work through and get him back as soon as we can."

Senne Lammens is an automatic pick between the sticks, with Manchester United lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation in front of him against Fulham on Sunday. The backline will feature Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, and Luke Shaw.

As for the midfield unit, there is no looking past Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro in the double pivot, with Bruno Fernandes reprising the no. 10 role. Finally, Bryan Mbeumo will lead the line for the home side against Fulham this weekend, with Amad Diallo and Matheus Cunha completing a fluid offensive trifecta.

Predicted Manchester United XI: Lammens; Dalot, Maguire, Martinez, Shaw; Casemiro, Mainoo; Amad, Fernandes, Cunha; Mbeumo

Man United predicted line-up vs Fulham as Matheus Cunha chance arrives
Manchester United welcome Fulham to Old Trafford this weekend as Michael Carrick aims to make it three wins in a row

Manchester United interim head coach Michael Carrick will be eager to keep the positive momentum going this weekend when the Reds welcome Fulham to Old Trafford. Carrick's first two matches back in the United dugout could not have gone any better with wins against Manchester City and Arsenal recorded.

However, Marco Silva's side pose a different challenge for the Reds. Fulham are expected to play a lot deeper and it will be up to United to try and press the issue during the game. Carrick was asked about whether he needed to adapt his style from the one which worked so well in his first two games.

His response was to stress the need to take each game as it comes and he also emphasised the importance of utilising the full squad at his disposal. That being said, it would take a brave man to change the goalkeeper or the back four this weekend.

Fulham transfer target 'keen' on Craven Cottage move before the deadline after Newcastle reject £20m bid
Fulham have the chance to bring in some new faces before the end of the January transfer window

Fulham have the opportunity to bring in new signings before the deadline on Monday at 7pm. They also have the chance to let some players head out the exit door as well if needed. That would help free up space and funds in their squad to pave the way for potential new arrivals.

Marco Silva's side are back in action on Sunday afternoon. They face an away trip to Old Trafford to play Manchester United. The Whites won 2-1 at home against Brighton and Hove Albion last time out.

Fulham keen on Newcastle United midfielder Joe Willock
Fulham target Joe Willock is 'keen' on a move to Craven Cottage, according to talkSPORT. They have seen an offer of £20million rejected by Newcastle United for his signature. The Toon Army are reluctant to let him head out the exit door at this stage.

Willock, 26, is out of contract in the North East in June 2027. Therefore, he is due to become a free agent next year. His current club risk losing him for nothing if they don't cash in on him now or at the end of this season.

The ex-England youth international has been with Newcastle since joining them back in 2021. He linked up with them on an initial loan deal that was later made permanent. The London-born man has made 141 appearances for the Magpies in all competitions to date, 20 of which have come in this campaign, and he has scored 11 goals.

Willock has seen his game time under Eddie Howe dry up over recent times. He rose up through the academy at Arsenal and was a regular for them at various different youth levels before going on to play 78 times for their first-team as a youngster, finding the net on 11 occasions. The Gunners then gave him the green light to depart for a new challenge up north.

What now for Fulham target Joe Willock at Newcastle United?
Fulham have seen their first bid rebuffed by Newcastle. Time will tell whether they lodge an improved proposal. He will be seen by Silva as someone to boost his midfield department. If he joined, he would give them more competition and depth in the middle of the park.

After signing for the Toon Army over five years ago, their ex-boss Steve Bruce said, as per BBC Sport: "I'm absolutely delighted to secure our number one target. We have had to be patient and persistent, but it has been worth the wait to bring Joe back. Where else can you find a 21-year-old who scored seven on the trot [on loan last season] and plays like him? Fair play to everyone to get it done.

"The big thing for us is to try and improve on last year. We had a good start and a good finish, but an awful winter time. We need to be lucky with injuries and certainly with Joe in team we looked a threat - and to score those goals he gave us something different and he improves us. Little by little we try to improve."

Man Utd vs Fulham: Predicted lineup today and confirmed team news
Manchester United are looking to make it three wins on the bounce under new boss Michael Carrick against Fulham this afternoon.

After a derby victory over Manchester City, United stunned Premier League leaders Arsenal at the Emirates last weekend with Patrick Dorgu and Matheus Cunha both on target with sensational efforts.

Dorgu was however forced off later in the second-half with a hamstring injury.

While United are still assessing the extent of the issue, it is believed to be a grade 2 hamstring tear which could sideline the Denmark international for eight to 10 weeks.

Dorgu has been sensational in a more advanced role under Carrick, starring on the left with his absence leaving the United boss with his first problem to solve.

While not a natural winger, Cunha has excelled off the bench against City and Arsenal and will surely come into the side today.

Benjamin Sesko scored three goals in two appearances under Darren Fletcher but is still to start under Carrick. Bryan Mbeumo has excelled in his role through the middle and bringing in Sesko would require a reshuffle that could see Amad dropped to the bench.

The temptation will be to stick with what worked so well against City and Arsenal.

United remain without Matthijs de Ligt who has still not returned to training due to a back problem that has sidelined him since the start of November.

Noussair Mazraoui is available after his AFCON campaign and could be an option to come into the side should Carrick feel the need to rest Diogo Dalot or Luke Shaw.

But with United looking as good as they have all season, major changes are unlikely.

Man Utd XI to face Fulham – Metro prediction

Were it not for Dorgu's injury, Carrick may have very well opted for the same winning formula today.

Cunha will likely come in for the injured Dane.

Man United star was 'rattled' by Fulham, now he is in perfect form for redemption
Manchester United were left frustrated the last time they faced Fulham and now Michael Carrick's side have the chance to set the record straight.

In the reverse Premier League fixture, Manchester United drew 1-1 with Fulham at Craven Cottage, leaving Ruben Amorim with no wins in his first two matches in 2025/26.

A Rodrigo Muniz own goal gave United the lead, but Emile Smith Rowe drew the hosts level.

Frustratingly, Bruno Fernandes missed a penalty in the first half of the clash against Fulham, and the Portuguese playmaker went on to produce a well below-par display in London.

Fernandes was bumped by referee Chris Kavanagh before taking his spot-kick and it seemed to distract United's captain.

Bruno Fernandes can get revenge vs Fulham
United fans were disappointed in Fernandes for his display at Craven Cottage, but he has bounced back to his very best this season.

Fernandes now has five goals and 10 assists in the Premier League, and he has registered at least one assist in all three of his last matches.

Back in August, Fernandes was "rattled" against Fulham because of the penalty incident, and he reacted emotionally.

But he is in the perfect run of form to get back at the Cottagers on Sunday and lift the Red Devils back into the top four in the Premier League table.

Bruno Fernandes has changed position since Fulham clash
When United drew to Fulham in August, Bruno Fernandes was playing as a central midfielder in Amorim's 3-4-2-1 formation.

It was a decision that attracted plenty of scrutiny, as Fernandes' attacking output was limited by pushing him further back.

Since Carrick has taken charge, though, Fernandes is back to his creative best and the numbers prove it.

United supporters can expect Fernandes to start as a No.10 or even as a false nine in Carrick's system. In the last two matches, he has been finding pockets of space and hurting teams in the final third.

With bleak memories of that penalty miss at Craven Cottage, Fernandes has the perfect platform to put on an Old Trafford masterclass.

Manchester United Starting XI vs Fulham: Confirmed Team News and Predicted Lineup
Man Utd Predicted Lineup vs Fulham: Injury Latest and Team News Ahead of Old Trafford Clash

Manchester United are preparing for another key Premier League fixture as Fulham arrive at Old Trafford, with attention firmly focused on the club's predicted lineup and injury latest. With momentum building under interim boss Michael Carrick, United are seeking a third consecutive league victory following high-profile wins over Manchester City and Arsenal.

However, selection decisions have been shaped by fresh fitness concerns, forcing adjustments in several key areas.

With squad depth being tested, this weekend's fixture offers a revealing insight into how Manchester United intend to manage form, fatigue, and injuries during a demanding phase of the campaign.

Man Utd Predicted Lineup After Recent Injury Setbacks
Manchester United are expected to line up in a familiar 4-2-3-1 system, with only minimal changes anticipated from recent victories. Andre Lammens is set to retain his place in goal after solid performances in recent outings.

In defence, Diogo Dalot is likely to continue at right-back, despite competition from Noussair Mazraoui. Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez remain the preferred central pairing, offering a blend of aerial strength and ball progression. Luke Shaw is expected to start on the left.

Midfield stability remains a priority. Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo are forecast to continue as the double pivot, balancing defensive coverage with forward distribution. Their partnership has been central to United's recent improvement in ball retention and counter-pressing.

Further forward, Amad Diallo is set to operate on the right flank, while Bruno Fernandes continues in the central attacking role. Matheus Cunha is pushing for a start on the left following his decisive contribution against Arsenal, with Bryan Mbeumo expected to lead the line.

Predicted XI:
Lammens; Dalot, Maguire, Martinez, Shaw; Casemiro, Mainoo; Amad, Fernandes, Cunha; Mbeumo

Injury Latest and Availability Update for Fulham Match
The most significant blow for Manchester United is the absence of Patrick Dorgu, who is expected to miss around ten weeks with a hamstring injury. The winger had enjoyed a strong run of form, making his setback particularly disruptive to Carrick's attacking plans.

Matthijs de Ligt remains unavailable due to an ongoing back issue, with medical staff unwilling to rush his return. His absence limits defensive rotation options, increasing the workload on Maguire and Martinez.

Joshua Zirkzee has returned to training and remains a doubt. While he could feature from the bench, uncertainty around his fitness and future continues to cloud his involvement.

Carrick recently acknowledged the impact of Dorgu's injury, describing it as "disappointing" after the player's positive recent performances. United's medical department will continue to monitor progress closely, particularly with a congested fixture list approaching.

Key Selection Decisions Facing Michael Carrick
One of Carrick's main dilemmas concerns the left-wing position. Matheus Cunha's recent form, highlighted by his winning goal against Arsenal, has strengthened his case to start ahead of Mason Mount. Cunha's direct running and pressing intensity align closely with Carrick's tactical preferences.

At right-back, Dalot remains first choice, though Mazraoui provides a viable alternative should rotation become necessary. In midfield, Casemiro's experience continues to be valued alongside Mainoo's emerging authority.

Up front, Bryan Mbeumo is expected to lead the line once again. His movement and pressing have created space for Fernandes and Amad to operate between the lines, contributing to United's improved attacking cohesion.

With confidence growing after two major victories, Carrick is unlikely to introduce wholesale changes, preferring continuity over experimentation.

What This Means for Man Utd's Premier League Momentum
Manchester United's recent resurgence has been built on defensive solidity, midfield control, and improved efficiency in front of goal. Back-to-back wins over City and Arsenal have restored belief within the squad and among supporters.

Maintaining that momentum against Fulham is crucial. Dropped points at Old Trafford would undermine recent progress and expose lingering inconsistencies. Squad management, particularly around injury recovery, will play a decisive role in sustaining form.

The absence of Dorgu and De Ligt places greater emphasis on squad discipline and tactical organisation. However, the emergence of Cunha and the continued influence of Fernandes provide optimism that United can maintain their attacking threat.

As the season enters a defining period, this fixture represents more than just three points. It is a test of Manchester United's adaptability, depth, and long-term stability under Carrick's guidance.

I had totally forgotten about that hilarious Bruno penalty miss, crying about a little bump from the ref. Oh it would be so sweet to give them a good hiding today.

Fulham fail with £20 million bid to sign Joe Willock, Newcastle United unwilling to sell
Fulham reportedly offered £20 million to sign 26-year-old English midfielder Joe Willock from Newcastle United, but the Magpies have rejected the bid.

According to a report by Give Me Sport, Joe Willock is the subject of interest from Fulham. The Cottagers are keen on reinforcing their first-team squad by signing a versatile midfielder in the final days of the winter transfer window. So, the 26-year-old Newcastle United midfielder has emerged as a target for the West London outfit.

Fulham submitted a bid worth £20 million to sign the Englishman from Newcastle United before Monday's transfer deadline. However, the Magpies have rejected the West London club's proposal, as they are hesitant to part ways with him midway through the 2025/26 season.

How has Joe Willock fared at Newcastle United?
oe Willock has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Newcastle United from Arsenal. The Tyneside outfit initially signed the 26-year-old on loan in February 2021 before completing a permanent move in a deal worth £25 million in the subsequent summer transfer window. While the player was excellent in the second half of the 2020/21 campaign, he has struggled to make his mark since sealing a permanent move to Newcastle United.

Willock's game time has steadily decreased with each passing season, and he has played only 699 minutes across 21 appearances in all competitions this term. However, the English midfielder's stock remains high, with several Premier League clubs, including Fulham, interested in signing him in the final days of the winter transfer window.

London return on the horizon?
Fulham mulled over signing Joe Willock in the summer transfer window, but the deal did not materialise. The continued interest makes sense, as the Cottagers have been scouring the market for a midfielder heading into the winter transfer window. While Marco Silva has several midfielders in his squad, he wants more options in the middle of the park.

Several candidates, including Gabriel Sara, have thus emerged on Fulham's wishlist, with Willock also a viable target. The West London club submitted a bid worth £20 million to sign the 26-year-old Englishman before Monday's transfer deadline. However, Fulham's offer has not done the trick, with Newcastle United rejecting the proposal.

While recent reports have suggested that Willock has been open to leaving Newcastle United in the winter transfer window, the Tyneside outfit may not part ways with him in the winter transfer window, as Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes have struggled with fitness issues in recent weeks. So, the English midfielder is not going anywhere midway through the 2025/26 season.
