Fulham lineup vs. Liverpool: Predicted XI for Premier League clash
Marco Silva's Fulham are set to be without up to three players for Saturday evening's Premier League clash with Liverpool at Anfield.

Brazilian winger Kevin remains sidelined after undergoing surgery on a foot injury last month, while Kenny Tete (ankle) and Harrison Reed (knee) are also unavailable for selection.

Timothy Castagne is expected to continue at right-back in the absence of Tete, while Calvin Bassey should be fit to start at centre-back alongside Joachim Andersen, but Issa Diop is waiting in the wings if needed. As for Antonee Robinson, he is set to retain his spot at left-back.

Ex-Everton man Alex Iwobi and Sander Berge are both poised to link up in centre-midfield once again, while Josh King will hope to continue in an advanced central role after scoring and assisting in Fulham's 3-1 win over Burnley prior to the international break.

Star attacker Harry Wilson, who has recorded a team-high 10 goals and six assists for Fulham in the Premier League this season, is set to start on the right flank, while Oscar Bobb and Samuel Chukwueze battle for a place on the opposite wing.

Raul Jimenez has only scored twice in 17 previous appearances against Liverpool, but the experienced Mexican is likely to get the nod to return to the first XI and start up front ahead of Rodrigo Muniz.

Fulham possible starting lineup: Leno; Castagne, Andersen, Bassey, Robinson; Berge, Iwobi; Wilson, King, Bobb; Jimenez

Liverpool fans are showing us what fan action should look like
Ahead of our Anfield clash, Liverpool fans are mobilising in response to rising ticket prices.

"Sigh - another post about ticket prices", I hear you groan.

But I'll keep this one short and to the point. Let me start with this: why oh why is the Fulham Supporters Trust (FST) always afraid to show its teeth in its dealings with the club?

Look at the recent events in Liverpool. The club announced in March that matchday ticket prices will rise for the next three seasons.

In response, Spirit of Shankly (SOS), the club's official supporters trust, wasted no time in mobilising fans. It's starting on Saturday, with "Not a pound in the ground", where they're calling on fans to spend money with local businesses instead.

It wouldn't be a ticket pricing article without reminding everyone how small matchday revenue is relative to other areas in a club's money-making arsenal. Liverpool - one of the biggest clubs in the world with a home ground that holds more than 60,000 people - made £120m from ticket revenue last season. In Sam Eccles's fantastic article about the Europa Conference League this week, he noted that Spurs made £7m more than that simply for finishing 17th in the Premier League. And that's before we even talk about TV money.

Raising ticket prices to the levels we see across the Premier League - and hiding behind words like "sustainability", and pointing the finger at PSR, SCR or whatever other acronym is flavour of the month, is unnecessary, inflammatory, and damaging.

SOS have made it clear that this is the start of a multi-event protest. Their response was swift, but it was their language that really struck me.

"If the club's owners won't listen, then we make them.

"This is no longer about consultation. That opportunity has been and gone. This is about action.

"It's about what kind of football club Liverpool chooses to be. One rooted in its people, or one that sees them as a revenue stream to be pushed year after year."

You can read the full statement here, but it's a world away from the FST when responding to the club's numerous controversial moves.

Contrast it to this admittedly erudite but needlessly fluffy open letter to Shahid Khan in 2023. Compare the decisive action taken by SOS to the much-mocked yellow card protest that was described by the Guardian as "the most polite protest ever seen".

Yes, protests live and die on fan participation, but to mobilise fans you need to inspire them. Anger in reaction to the initial club decision plays a role, but supporter's trusts also have to whip up sentiment through their words and actions.

We simply don't see that with the FST.

We got some things wrong with "Stop the Greed" in 2019. But the words that offended some also drove action - the sort we've not seen since.

This is despite the club showing at multiple points in the following seven years that it sees the fans as customers, ones who can be swapped out for whoever is willing to pay the prices they set. Even if they support the opposition. The club is emboldened to act this way because we have let it.

Season ticket renewal time is fast approaching - we should know our 2026/27 prices at the end of this month. It could well blow this debate wide open once again and spark renewed calls for action.

If that happens, the FST - and us as fans - must be ready to be as unequivocal and decisive in our response as Liverpool fans have been.

Liverpool injury latest and possible return dates including Alisson as 4 players set to miss Fulham
Liverpool has lost three games on the spin heading into the weekend's game with Fulham, with Arne Slot set to be missing four players through injury in the Premier League clash

Liverpool will play a Premier League game for the first time in three weeks this Saturday, but Arne Slot will be missing four players through injury.

On Wednesday, Alexander Isak made his comeback from a broken leg against PSG in the Champions League and he should be in contention for more minutes, which could be important as the race for the top five places enters the final stages.

There is very little margin for error as Liverpool looks to qualify for UEFA's top competition again and a home game with Fulham is a chance to snap up three points that cannot be missed.

For that game — a tough one, with Marco Silva's men having caused Liverpool plenty of problems in the last couple of seasons — Alisson Becker remains out.

The Brazilian goalkeeper will return at some point after the second leg against PSG, though no exact timeline has been placed on his comeback other than it being before the end of the season.

Elsewhere, Giovanni Leoni, Wataru Endo and Conor Bradley remain out. Everyone else should be available, though players including Jeremie Frimpong and Joe Gomez will need their minutes to be managed.

While Arne Slot deployed a back five against PSG in Europe, that won't be the case when Fulham comes to Anfield. And the Reds boss explained that decision earlier in the week.

"They have pace from everywhere, all the pitch, so it doesn't just matter where you look, you see pace and incredible pace," he said.

"[Achraf] Hakimi and Nuno Mendes are unbelievable offensive threats apart from all the others. So, we played them with Jeremie Frimpong and with Milos Kerkez, so that was the thought behind it.

"And that way I thought we could try to press them really high and aggressive because Jeremie and Milos are also two players... if you press Hakimi and if you press Nuno Mendes they play and they start to run more.

"They don't start to run, by the way, they start to sprint and actually it's not even sprinting, it's just a level above sprinting and you have to cope with that.

"And usually, usually, players like Jeremie and Milos are better equipped for that than out-and-out wingers, but I think we can also see that every time we try to press them high and aggressive, those are also the moments where we were completely ripped apart.

"I think it led to five or six big chances of them when we tried to be high and aggressive. So, it tells you how difficult it is to play against this team, and we try to do this in a high press with the players I just told you, and in the low block means that we have probably more defenders on the pitch, more tired, more aggressiveness.

"In the second part, I think you noticed this as well, with bringing Joe [Gomez] in you add some set-piece quality as well."

No flags on the Kop: Liverpool ticket price protests to begin against Fulham
There will be no flags on the Kop for the rest of the season unless Liverpool renegotiate on ticket prices, with the first wave of protests beginning at the weekend.

There has been significant backlash against Liverpool's decision to increase ticket prices for the next three seasons, with a standard matchday ticket to go up by between £3 and £4.50.

As a result, various supporter groups are to take action beginning with Spion Kop 1906, who will be withdrawing their flags from the Kop for the rest of the season unless an agreement is reached.

The fan group, which organises the majority of Liverpool's famous flags on the Kop before kick-off, will protest at every match except for Liverpool vs. PSG, when commemorations of the Hillsborough disaster will take place prior to kick-off.

The Spion Kop 1906 statement in full
Since the announcement regarding future ticket pricing, we have been in discussions as a group regarding our response.

As always, we will pay our respects at the closest game to the anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster, which will be the PSG game.

After much consultation, all Spion Kop 1906 flags will no longer be present at Anfield at the remaining fixtures. We feel we have been left with no other option, year on year the rising costs are pricing more fans out of football. Fans are increasingly reaching their breaking point as football becomes unaffordable.

We must take a stand against the rising cost of football, we feel there's a value to being valued. The culture and traditions, which have been passed down by previous generations must be preserved, with football remaining accessible to future generations.

https://x.com/spiritofshankly/status/2042198167450509815

We, the fans, are the heartbeat of the football club; the same heartbeat that Liverpool Football Club market for a pound note. We urge FSG to remember that our club, should embody the identity of its surrounding community and resonate with the values of the local area.

What is Anfield without its heartbeat? Do the right thing for the future of our game. Listen to the heartbeat.

NO TO TICKET PRICE INCREASES

This has happened before
Spion Kop 1906 has taken this form of action before, to withdraw flags and banners from the ground, against Atalanta in 2024.

On that occasion, fans were protesting against the club raising prices by two percent for the 2024/25 season. LFC did not reverse their decision.

After prices were frozen for the 2025/26 campaign, Liverpool are again increasing their already extortionate prices.

The 2026/27 season will see general admission ticket prices increase between £1.25 and £1.75 per person, with the rise to be made in line with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) annual inflation rate and capped at five percent per year.

Category     Increase (2026/27 Season)   Three-Year Forecast
Adult Matchday (GA)     £1.25 – £1.75   £3.00 – £4.50
Adult Season Ticket     £21.50 – £27.00   £53.50 – £67.50
Inflation Cap     3% (Current CPI)   Max 5% per year
Junior / Local General     FROZEN (£9)   FROZEN (£9)

This will continue for the next three seasons, with that forecasting adult general admission ticket price to rise between £3 and £4.50 per person, per matchday ticket, over the three years.

Junior and local general tickets will remain at £9 each for the 11th consecutive season, but adult season tickets will increase between £21.50 and £27 next season.

In addition to Spion Kop 1906's protest, the official Liverpool supporters board, as well as fans union Spirit of Shankly, have also announced action.

They have urged match-goers not to spend any money in the ground, with protests then escalating inside and outside the stadium.

Pre-Liverpool Press Conference
Fulham-Liverpool fixtures have proven to be a guaranteed source of entertainment in recent years.

The previous four meetings have yielded 17 goals, with a win for either side and two draws.

And with the Reds heading into our match at Anfield on the back of consecutive defeats in the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League, Marco Silva was asked if Saturday represents 'a real opportunity' for his side.

"No, it's always a real opportunity," he replied. "Because, as you mentioned, the last results against them, the last performances, last games, they have been very, very good – good performance, some good results from us, very, very competitive always, home and away, and this is what we want to be again.

"Of course, all the clubs, they have ups and downs. In a big club, any defeat probably hurts more.

"A defeat is always a defeat, I know, and I had this conversation with our players, for example, after the two defeats that we had in a row [against West Ham and Southampton] in a short period of time before the Nottingham Forest game.

"And with other clubs and other players and other managers, it's the same thing as well. It's part of a season. And, of course, it's always the way you are going to react for the bad moments that is going to be decisive.

"We come from a good result [against Burnley], we come from a result where we were losing and we won the game in a good way at home. We went for the international break with three points, massive three points in my opinion, for us.

"And let's hope we can start in the same way against a very, very good side – with the bad run, it's true. They lost three games in a row in different competitions, and if it's going to have an impact or not in the game, we don't know.

"We prepare ourselves for the best Liverpool possible, and we want to be competitive like we did show last season, against them this season already [too], and let's hope we can repeat the same type of performance."

Fulham manager sanctioned for misconduct
An independent Regulatory Commission has sanctioned Marco Silva for comments that he made after the Premier League match between Fulham and West Ham United on Wednesday 4 March.

It was alleged that the head coach acted in an improper manner by making comments in a post-match interview that imply bias and/or question integrity and/or are personally offensive in relation to a match official.

Marco Silva subsequently admitted the charge against him. The Regulatory Commission imposed a one-match touchline suspension and £90,000 fine after a hearing, and its written reasons can be seen below.

The head coach's suspension has been paused pending an appeal, so he's available to be on the touchline this weekend, and an official update will be provided in due course.

Fulham closing in on permanent deal for Chukwueze after impressive loan spell
Fulham are edging closer to securing the permanent signing of Samuel Chukwueze from AC Milan, following a productive loan spell at Craven Cottage.

According to Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport, the Premier League side are expected to trigger the buy option included in the winger's loan agreement.

In search of adequate playing opportunities, the Nigeria international completed a loan move to Fulham just before the summer window closed for business.

Since transferring to the Londoners, he has become a useful attacking option under manager Marco Silva.

Despite not always being a guaranteed starter, Chukwueze has delivered key contributions in the final third.

In seventeen Premier League appearances, the Super Eagles winger has scored three goals and provided four assists, showcasing flashes of the pace, creativity and directness that made him one of Africa's most promising wide players during his Villarreal days.

Although Fulham have informed AC Milan of their intention to pay €24 million to secure the services of Chukwueze, the club remain cautious due to his fitness concerns, with the winger missing five matches across league and cup competitions as a result of a calf injury.

Chukwueze has a valid contract with AC Milan until the end of the 2027-2028 season.

Fulham's Bassey declared fit to face Liverpool after withdrawal from Super Eagles squad
Fulham have been handed a timely boost ahead of their Premier League clash with Liverpool, with manager Marco Silva confirming that Calvin Bassey is in contention for a place in the travelling squad to Anfield, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, the Portuguese tactician revealed that the Leicester City academy graduate is now fully fit, having withdrawn from the Super Eagles squad for their March internationals due to a back issue.

Bassey missed Nigeria's friendlies against Iran and Jordan in Antalya, raising concerns that he might struggle to be ready for Fulham's matchday 32 encounter with the reigning champions.

In his absence, Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle handed a late call-up to Trabzonspor centre-back Chibuike Nwaiwu as Bassey's replacement on the eve of the match against Team Melli.

This season, Bassey has started 21 of the 25 Premier League games he has been available for, scoring once and winning a penalty in Fulham's 3-1 victory over Sunderland in February.

It is assumed that Bassey's international teammates, Alex Iwobi and Samuel Chukwueze, will also be available on Saturday, with Silva confirming that all his returning internationals came back to the club in good condition.

Both Chukwueze and Iwobi featured in the two friendlies against Iran and Jordan.

Salah, Gakpo And Robertson To Start | 4-2-2-2 Liverpool Predicted Lineup Vs Fulham
Liverpool will welcome Fulham at Anfield this Saturday as they look to secure a win at home in the Premier League. The Reds suffered a poor 2-0 loss away at Paris Saint-Germain recently, which has drained their confidence ahead of this game.

Arne Slot will opt for the 4-2-2-2 formation and is expected to make a few changes to his first team for this clash. Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo and Andy Robertson could all play from the start of this game.

4-2-2-2 Liverpool Predicted Lineup To Face Fulham

Defence

Giorgi Mamardashvili will feature in between the sticks for the Reds after conceding two goals in his last outing. Virgil Van Dijk will continue to function alongside Ibrahima Konate at the centre of the Liverpool backline as they look to keep a solid shape on the defensive end of the field.

Jeremie Frimpong will try to catch the eye as the right-back, while Andy Robertson gets a chance to impress on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.

Joe Gomez will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield
Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch will anchor the midfield for the Merseyside club as they focus on winning the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park.

Both Florian Wirtz and Dominik Szoboszlai will function as Slot's attacking midfielders. The dynamic duo would have to carry most of the creative burden for Liverpool in the final third.

Curtis Jones, Rio Ngumoha and Federico Chiesa will be named on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the second half if needed.

Attack
Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah will probably get the nod to lead the line for the Merseyside giants up top. Both of them started on the bench in midweek, so they would be eager to impress in this league outing at Anfield.

Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike will have to be content with a place on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if the Reds are in need of a goal by then.

Liverpool XI vs. Fulham—Salah Decision to Make: Injury News, Predicted Lineup
Arne Slot has a formation change to consider after a tough night against Paris Saint-Germain.

Liverpool return to Premier League action on Saturday afternoon with a visit from Fulham following a chastening Champions League night against Paris Saint-Germain in midweek.

Arne Slot reshuffled his pack for the daunting trip to the reigning champions of Europe in the desperate hope of avoiding a humiliating result. While he achieved that with a 2–0 defeat, the nature of the contest was pretty embarrassing. Mohamed Salah missed out on the nut-and-bolt dismantling as an unused substitute.

The team's perennial top scorer has seen his status called into question under Slot on multiple occasions this season, so much so that he has decided to give up a year of his eye-watering salary to leave in the summer. The remainder of Salah's campaign won't be spent entirely on the bench and Slot heavily hinted that his waning star will be back for Saturday's clash with Fulham.

Whether he will be trusted in the second leg against PSG next week is another matter entirely.

Survival Mode Not Set to Continue
Slot defended his decision to become the reactive shell he has spent the entire season complaining about by warning that Liverpool are in "survival mode." Up against teams with the attacking firepower of PSG and Manchester City, some caution is perhaps understandable.

Fulham present a different challenge. Marco Silva's well-drilled outfit can (and often do) cause the division's best teams plenty of problems, yet they are not one of the continent's foremost attacking threats. In fact, even this relegation-battling iteration of Tottenham Hotspur have registered more shots on target than the Cottagers this season.

Liverpool should return to a back four on Saturday and could even have Alexander Isak to call upon for more than 10 minutes after a tentative cameo on Wednesday.

⚠️ Key absentees, doubts: Alisson, Conor Bradley, Wataru Endo, Giovanni Leoni.
    🔢 Predicted formation: 4-2-2-2

Liverpool Predicted Lineup vs. Fulham (4-2-2-2)

GK: Giorgi Mamardashvili—One of the few Liverpool players to emerge from the Parc des Princes with any credit, Mamardashvili kept the score down with four saves.

RB: Jeremie Frimpong—The back five should have suited Frimpong more than any other Liverpool player yet the natural wingback ended the game without taking a shot or creating a single chance.

CB: Ibrahima Konaté—The towering center back was fortunate to avoid giving away two penalties

CB: Virgil van Dijk—"It's difficult for Virgil to look s---," Jürgen Klopp once said. It would be interesting to see if Slot agrees with this sentiment.

LB: Andy Robertson—Robertson is not a fan of writing off a player's circuitous route to stardom as a "fairytale." Each journey is underpinned by hard work and there are no shortage of examples in Liverpool's squad. As Robertson said: "If these were all fairytales, we'd have more than Hans Christian Andersen."

DM: Ryan Gravenberch—When Ronald Koeman called Gravenberch up to the Netherlands squad for Euro 2024 after a raft of injuries in midfield, the typically blunt Dutch coach claimed that the Liverpool man had "landed with his nose in the butter," a wonderful expression for good fortune. Gravenberch would have to slip in the butter and pull something to miss out on a starting spot for club or country.

DM: Curtis Jones—The only Scouser left in Liverpool's team could be denied a summer transfer to ensure that status is preserved.

AM: Dominik Szoboszlai—"He is a bit underestimated," Slot said of the Hungarian midfielder during his debut campaign on Merseyside. Few would underestimate the impact of Liverpool's undisputed star.

AM: Florian Wirtz—When Wirtz was a kid, his teacher asked him to write down what he wanted to be when he grew up. The German's mother kept that scrap of paper and unfurled it on his 18th birthday. There was one word on it: "Fußballer."

ST: Mohamed Salah—If Salah isn't too enamored by an approach from MLS or the Saudi Pro League this summer, perhaps he could pivot towards free diving. After Klopp invited a professional surfer to deliver a session with his squad in 2019, Salah could hold his breath under water for more than three minutes.

ST: Hugo Ekitiké—The Frenchman is a fine finisher but may need some work on his ambitions as a career counselor: "If I have one advice to give," Ekitiké revealed earlier this season, "it's like when you think it's crazy to do something, do it."

Liverpool vs. Fulham: Head-to-head record and past meetings

Head-to-head record

Previous meetings: 80

Liverpool wins: 45

Draws: 21

Fulham wins: 14

From 80 previous clashes between Liverpool and Fulham in all tournaments, it comes as no surprise to learn that the Reds dominate the head-to-head column, defeating their capital counterparts on 46 occasions compared to a paltry 14 wins for the Cottagers.

Each of the first four showdowns between 1912 and 1934 was fought in the FA Cup, while nine successive League Cup ties took place between 1983 and 2000, but the two clubs have met almost exclusively in the Premier League since the 2001-02 season.

The one - or two - aberrations in that sequence came in the 2023-24 EFL Cup, where Liverpool dug in for a 2-1 success on home soil before holding out for a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage, prior to winning their final trophy under Jurgen Klopp's tutelage.

Before that 3-2 aggregate success, a seven-goal Premier League spectacular in December 2023 went Liverpool's way by four strikes to three, and the Reds also made light work of the Cottagers in a 3-1 Craven Cottage triumph in April 2024, their fourth win from five against the capital giants.

A new club record was set by Liverpool in their 4-3 win, where Fulham went 3-2 up in the 80th minute before throwing it all away, the latest that Liverpool had fallen behind in a Premier League game that they went on to prevail in.

In both 2023-24 Premier League fixtures, Trent Alexander-Arnold came up with some heroics for Liverpool, and his stellar set-piece at Craven Cottage marked the right-back's sixth goal direct from a free kick in the English top flight.

However, Arne Slot failed to get the better of Fulham during his debut season in the Premier League, as the Cottagers held the Reds to a 2-2 stalemate at Anfield before inflicting Liverpool's first away loss of that top-flight campaign with a 3-2 success at Craven Cottage.

The Dutchman failed to get the better of the Londoners once again in January 2026, when the two sides drew 2-2 at Craven Cottage in the first of their Premier League clashes in 2025-26.

Harry Wilson gave Fulham a first-half lead, and while second-half strikes from Florian Wirtz and Cody Gakpo gave the Reds hopes of three points, a 97th-minute equaliser from Harrison Reed saw the spoils shared.

Prior to a 1-0 win in May 2023, Liverpool had endured a three-game Premier League run without beating Marco Silva's side, also playing out 2-2 and 1-1 draws in Craven Cottage clashes in August 2022 and December 2020 respectively.

A 1-0 loss at Anfield in March 2021 was sandwiched in between those two stalemates, where Mario Lemina's effort on the stroke of half time prolonged Liverpool's home hoodoo behind closed doors, and Fulham also won by the same scoreline on Liverpool's turf in 2012 owing to a Martin Skrtel own goal.
