Manuel Ángel signs for Fulham

The Club is delighted to announce the signing of Manuel Ángel for an undisclosed fee from Real Madrid.

The 22-year-old has agreed a three-year deal, keeping him at Craven Cottage until June 2029, with a Club option to extend by a further 12 months.

After putting pen to paper, Manuel Ángel said: "It's an incredible feeling to have signed for such a legendary club as Fulham, the oldest in London. And to compete in a league like the Premier League, where every player dreams of playing at some point in their career.

"I'm also looking forward to experiencing the passion of the fans – and, in particular, our own supporters at Craven Cottage."

A two-footed central midfield player, Manuel Ángel is comfortable with the ball at his feet, is intelligent with his movement, and has a keen eye for a pass.

Having started his career at Sevilla, Manuel Ángel moved to Real in 2018, linking up with the club's Under-15s initially, and working his way up to Castilla – where he was named captain by Álvaro Arbeloa going into last season.

It was also Arbeloa who gave him his senior bow, with the player appearing four times in La Liga in the second half of 2025/26, in addition to featuring in each of their UEFA Champions League victories over Manchester City.

Larsson arrives from Frankfurt

The Club is delighted to confirm the signing of Hugo Larsson from Eintracht Frankfurt on a long-term deal, subject to an initial loan period.

Speaking to FFCtv, Larsson said: "Obviously, it's a very proud moment for me and my family – I'm honoured to be here.

"To come here, to the oldest club in London, with all the history that it has, is such an honour for me."

Tony Khan added: "I'm thrilled to welcome Hugo Larsson to Fulham! He is a very talented player, and we have been tracking him for several years.

"Hugo has impressed at Eintracht Frankfurt and for his national team, and I believe that he can strengthen our squad! Come on Fulham!"

A hard-working central midfield player who likes to operate as a six or an eight, Larsson has an impressive engine that helps him get around the pitch. He is also known for being an excellent reader of the game.

Having come through the ranks at Swedish giants Malmö FF, he made his senior debut for the club in a Swedish Cup tie in February 2022 at the age of 17. That was the first of five Svenska Cupen appearances Larsson made that season, including the entirety of the Final, which Malmö won on penalties against Hammarby.

The teenager was also a virtual ever-present in the league that season, and was duly named Allsvenskan Young Player of the Year.

The following campaign saw Larsson sample UEFA Champions League and Europa League football for the first time, and it was not long before Frankfurt secured his services, bringing him to Germany ahead of the 2023/24 Bundesliga season, with Malmö receiving the largest fee seen in Allsvenskan history.

Frankfurt secured a sixth-place finish in his maiden campaign, bringing with it a Europa League spot (in which they went on to reach the Quarter-Finals), but 2024/25 was even more prosperous for the Club, with Larsson playing a key role as they finished third behind Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen.

During his three years at the club, he made 119 appearances, scoring 10 goals and assisting seven.

Larsson made his senior Sweden debut in January 2023, and now has 12 caps to his name.

Affengruber joins Fulham

The Club is delighted to confirm the signing of David Affengruber from Elche for an undisclosed fee.

The pacey centre-back, 25, has signed a four-year deal, tying him to Fulham until the summer of 2030, with a Club option to extend by a further year.

Speaking to FFCtv, Affengruber said: "It is a special day for me and my career. This is a big next step for me, and I am very proud and happy to be here.

"It's been a long day, but a very special one. You don't often get an opportunity like this. Now, I'm just happy to be here, and very motivated to get started."

Tony Khan added: "I'm thrilled to welcome David Affengruber to Fulham! David is a very talented defender in the prime of his career.

"He has been impressive in La Liga for Elche and earned a place at the World Cup this past summer with his national team, Austria. We believe that David will be a valuable addition to our squad! Come on Fulham!"

Having come through the academy at Red Bull Salzburg, Affengruber was handed a senior debut with FC Liefering – the club's reserve side – in the Austrian second division.

Over a two-season spell, he racked up 51 appearances as they secured third and second place finishes, contributing five goals and seven assists in that time.

That led to a handful of senior appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga for Red Bull, before making a permanent transfer to SK Sturm Graz ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.

In each of his three seasons in Graz, he helped the club to a second-place finish in the Bundesliga, leading to him sampling UEFA Europa League and Champions League football during his time at the club.

After an impressive 17 goal involvements (10G, 7A) in 126 outings, Affengruber made the move to Spain, helping Elche win promotion to La Liga in his maiden campaign, and then ensuring they remained in the top tier last season.

He departs Elche with two goals and four assists to his name, from his 84 appearances.

Having previously represented his nation at Under-19 and Under-21 level, Affengruber won his first senior cap this year, and was part of the Austria squad that competed at the World Cup.

Hugo Larsson completes Fulham switch
Hugo Larsson has left Eintracht Frankfurt for Fulham FC on a loan deal that could become permanent.

Eintracht Frankfurt have officially sent Hugo Larsson out on loan to Premier League side Fulham.

The English club have an obligation to buy the midfielder if certain conditions are met.

"Hugo Larsson has been one of our key first-team players over the past three years and has played a big part in our success," said Eintracht Frankfurt board member for sport Markus Krösche.

"We'd like to thank Hugo for his commitment in an Eintracht shirt and wish him all the best for his future career."

Larsson has made 119 appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt in the past, scoring 10 goals and providing seven assists.

Fulham seal signings of Larsson, Angel and Affengruber
Fulham completed the pre-deadline signing of midfielders Hugo Larsson and Manuel Angel and defender David Affengruber.

Swede Larsson, 22, has been signed from Eintracht Frankfurt on an initial loan ahead of an expected £20m permanent move.

Larsson said: "Obviously, it's a very proud moment for me and my family – I'm honoured to be here.

The 22-year-old Angel is the third player the Whites have signed this summer from head coach Alvaro Arbeloa's former club Real Madrid, following the arrival of forward Gonzalo Garcia and midfielder Cesar Palacios.

Angel has agreed a three-year deal, with a club option to extend by a further 12 months.

And Austrian centre-back Affengruber, 25, has been brought in from Elche for a fee in the region of £8.5m.

Hugo Larsson joins Fulham from Eintracht Frankfurt
Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Hugo Larsson has completed a loan transfer to Fulham that will become permanent at the end of the season, the Eagles have confirmed.

Sweden international Larsson, who spent three years with Frankfurt, has put pen to paper on a long-term deal at his new outfit that will come into place should the conditions of Fulham's obligation to buy be met.

"Hugo Larsson has been one of our key first-team players over the past three years and has played a big part in our success," said Board member for sport Markus Krösche.

"We'd like to thank Hugo for his commitment in an Eintracht shirt and wish him all the best for his future career."

Larsson joined Frankfurt in the summer of 2023 from Malmö in his homeland, and ended up making 119 appearances for the Deutsche Bank Park outfit, scoring 10 goals. At international level, the 22-year-old has 12 caps, but was left out of Sweden's squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026.

He is the 14th player to depart the club this summer as the squad undergoes an overhaul under returning head coach Hütter. So far this campaign, Frankfurt beat Tönis 11-0 in the first round of the DFB Cup, before drawing 3-3 with Union Berlin on the opening day of the Bundesliga. Eintracht are next in action on Sunday, when they welcome Augsburg.

Eintracht Frankfurt have officially confirmed the departure of Swedish international Hugo Larsson to Fulham. The 22-year-old initially joins the Premier League side on loan for the 2026/27 campaign, with Fulham subsequently obligated to complete a permanent transfer. Kicker reports that the purchase obligation is worth approximately €22m.

The move concludes a deadline-day saga that developed rapidly over the closing stages of the window. Get German Football News reported last week that Larsson had travelled to England to hold talks over a potential €25m Premier League switch, with Crystal Palace initially confirmed among the interested clubs.

Fulham subsequently entered the race. GGFN reported on Monday that Larsson's representatives were negotiating with both London clubs before the midfielder agreed personal terms with Fulham and scheduled his medical on deadline day.

Frankfurt ultimately accepted a deal structured around a delayed permanent payment rather than an immediate sale.

The Sweden international leaves having made 119 competitive appearances for Eintracht across domestic and European competition, scoring ten goals.

Larsson departs after three years in which he developed from a promising Malmö teenager into one of Frankfurt's most valuable midfielders. Eintracht signed the Swede from his boyhood club in summer 2023. He established himself almost immediately despite arriving in Germany as a teenager and gradually became a fixture in Frankfurt's central midfield.

Larsson's ability to cover ground, carry possession vertically and advance from deeper positions made him particularly useful in systems that asked the double-six to function asymmetrically.

One example arrived during Frankfurt's 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund in January 2025. Get German Football News examined how Larsson operated ahead of Ellyes Skhiri in a loose vertical midfield stagger, regularly pushing beyond the nominal No. 6 position while Skhiri provided greater defensive protection behind him.

That tendency also appeared in another strong performance the following month. Larsson repeatedly advanced from the No. 6 position into attacking midfield spaces during a 3-1 win over Holstein Kiel, illustrating the box-to-box qualities that helped drive his rise.

The second half of the 2024/25 campaign arguably represented Larsson's strongest sustained spell in Germany. He helped Frankfurt qualify for the Champions League through their Bundesliga finish and subsequently earned recognition among the league's better-performing central midfielders.

Last season, Larsson made 25 Bundesliga and seven Champions League appearances. A prolonged slump saw him eventually benched for the final two league fixtures. His estimated market value also declined from €40m to €28m between December 2025 and May 2026 in the Transfermarkt listings.

Fulham secure bargain deal for Bundesliga midfielder as Arbeloa lands third Real Madrid raid
Fulham have secured the signing of Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Hugo Larsson as well as making a third addition from Real Madrid this summer.

New Fulham boss Alvaro Arbeloa has put his Real Madrid connections to good use this summer. Having left his position with Los Blancos after last season, he's bringing a flavour of the Spanish capital to Craven Cottage.

Arbeloa has already signed Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios.

On those signings, he said: "It hasn't been easy [to sign Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios]. They had many offers from very important teams in Europe, some of them playing in European competitions. The fact that they wanted to come to Fulham to work with me makes me feel very fortunate. I'm very proud to have them with me again."

And the former Real boss has now snared a third star from his former club, landing central midfielder Manuel Angel, who played four first-team games under Arbeloa last season.

The Spaniard is not the only midfielder who has been signed by Fulham on deadline day.

Our friends at TEAMtalk reported earlier on deadline day that Fulham were landing the Frankfurt midfielder for £21.5million. That's more than the German outfit paid for him, but much less than his reported price tag previously.

When he hit form for Frankfurt in 2025, Larsson was linked with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.

In March of last year, Florian Plettenberg revealed the price the German side would ask for if they were to sell.

He said: 'Excl | Manchester City have entered the race for Hugo #Larsson! 20 y/o top midfielder is keen on their interest.

'Eintracht Frankfurt have been informed. First initial talks took place. #MCFC

'Boss Markus Krösche demanding at least €60m. Larsson is under contract until 2029. Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, and several other teams are also monitoring him, including top Bundesliga clubs.'

It's a big change for Larsson, not only for his price to drop so much, but to go from City status to Fulham, who haven't finished in the top half of the Premier League since 2022/23, when they scraped to 10th.

Fulham seal triple Deadline Day deal as Alvaro Arbeloa signs more Real Madrid talent
Cottagers bolstered as Manuel Angel and Hugo Larsson arrive on banks of the Thames

Fulham have confirmed the Deadline Day signings of Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Larsson, Real Madrid's Manuel Angel, and Elche's David Affengruber.

Alvaro Arbeloa's side have been busier in the transfer window this summer than last, previously adding Shea Charles alongside Real Madrid pair Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios.

And after tasting defeat in both of his first two Premier League outings, Arbeloa has once again gone shopping at Valdebebas, this time coming back with 22-year-old midfielder Angel.

The Spaniard has signed a three-year deal with an option for a further 12 months. Arbeloa named him captain of his Real Madrid Castilla side, and later handed him his first-team debut after both men were promoted mid-season. Angel went on to make four La Liga appearances and also featured in the Champions League.

"Training under Arbeloa is a real privilege," he told the club's website after signing.

"I've known him for many years from the Real Madrid youth academy, and he's a coach who brings out the best in players, gets the most out of each one and, most importantly, understands them.

"Now, he's going to be coaching me at a higher level, and I must give him the same intensity and commitment – or even more – than ever before."

He joins as one half of a midfield overhaul, with 12-cap Sweden international Larsson completing the new arrivals.

Standard Sport understands he has joined up on an initial one-year loan, which will be made permanent for £18.3m. The club have confirmed he will sign a long-term deal.

Previously a Swedish league and cup champion at Malmo, the 22-year-old can be read as a replacement for Sasa Lukic, who joined Ipswich Town on a permanent transfer earlier this summer.

"It's a very proud moment for me and my family – I'm honoured to be here," he said after putting pen to paper on his new contract.

Both Angel and Larsson will hope to make their Fulham debuts this weekend as the Cottagers host Crystal Palace.

The 25-year-old centre-back Affengruber, meanwhile, has touched down in west London and signed a four-year contract with a club option for a further 12 months. Fulham spent £8.5m to secure his services.

Villa away to be played Saturday night
Fulham's match away to Aston Villa will now be played on Saturday 31st October, kicking off at 8pm.

The fixture had been moved to the Sunday for live television coverage, but will now revert to the Saturday due to Villa's participation in the Champions League the following Tuesday.

Sky Sports will still broadcast the game.
