Squad Size and room for one loan for a player over 21yo

Current squad size 27 players but we have three players under 21yo who we don't have to register in the final squad of 25 ( Josh King, Jonah Kusi-Asare and Luc De Fougerolles ) so that brings that down to 24 so room for one loan of a player over 21yo ( or Free Agent ), if Jonah Kusi-Asare does go out on loan still only room for one loan in. Also we can bring in Macauley Zepa when we need depth at RW when needed

Our squad has been submitted to the PL and we used all 25 overage spots so there is no room for a free agent. Terrell Works and Michael Allen are 2004s that were submitted as part of the 25 man squad.

Terrell Works and Michael Allen are nowhere near the starting XI or bench. Did not even play in the friendlies?

You can only have 20 in your match day squad so already some disappointed big names.you can debate the balance of the squad in terms of positions but I think we have the right number when it comes to first team personnel.
We need to shift people on before we think of adding any more ..

I won't argue that we should be adding more right now because I agree we shouldn't but we should have kept the spots open just in case of injury emergency where we needed to sign a couple free agents rather than register two players who will never make the 1st team.

All u21s are sublisted under a different category and do not count against the 25 man squad. Josh King is not listed in the 25 man squad for the same reason. There are 40+ listed as u21s and it includes everyone in the u21s, u18s and maybe some u16s. They are all eligible to play. Anyone who has a 2006 birthdate or later is exempted from the 25 man squad.

No worries. I fully recognise being a nerd about this stuff. If we ever make Europe, it gets even more complicated so that will be fun.

I dont know the specifics but I think I know the gist,
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Euro includes stricter home grown requirements
I think they added; stricter rules on under 21s. Say buy a 100 mill 20 year old, he may not immediately qualify for not needing to be registered. Wasn't the case a few years back.
And stricter rules on profit to wages, premier league gives teams more room.

Theres probably more too, i think the overall squad size is smaller as well but I think that might not be the case anymore (if all homegrown requirements are met)
