"Surprise to me" – Fulham star confused over Arbeloa dropping him
Fulham's Joachim Andersen says he's unable to comprehend Álvaro Arbeloa's decision to not consider him in the two big matches this season.

The Denmark international returned to the Premier League side from Crystal Palace in August 2024. Marco Silva was then in charge, and Andersen was a regular over the last two seasons.

Silva left the London club at the end of last season, and Fulham appointed the Spaniard as his successor.

The centre-back received a direct red in his side's 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth in May, resulting in a three-match suspension. He served two of them later that month and the last one against in his side's 3-2 loss to Chelsea in August.

Fulham player has to accept decision
Álvaro Arbeloa wasn't able to count on the defender for his first official match and started him in the defeats to Sunderland and Crystal Palace. The manager left him as an unused substitute in the goalless draw against Liverpool.

On Sunday, he came off the bench for the last 10 minutes in Fulham's 1-1 draw against Manchester United.

Matheus Cunha's late equaliser prevented the London club from securing their first league win. They are 19th in the table with two points, a point behind 17th placed Bournemouth.

After the match, Joachim Andersen spoke to in Denmark and Campo have relayed his comments. He was honest in sharing his take on Arbeloa not starting him for the last two league matches.

"It comes as a bit of a surprise to me. Last season, I was captain in many matches," he said.

"We lost the first three matches. I was suspended for the first one. And then the coach thinks we should change."

"But I don't have much to say about it. I can't do much about it, and I think I've played quite brilliantly. Sometimes the coach wants to try something different, and that's how it is."

Last season, the 30-year-old played 3,057 minutes from 35 matches and was captain in majority of them.

International break opportunity to send Arbeloa message
In March, Denmark manager Brian Riemer left Joachim Andersen out of his squad for the World Cup qualifier win over North Macedonia. This didn't please the defender and Joachim Andersen said he then felt "powerless".

He's on Riemer's list for this international break. Denmark face Norway, Wales, Portugal and Wales again in the UEFA Nations League in the coming weeks.

These four fixtures will provide the Fulham man an opportunity to not only enjoy minutes but also use them to send a message to Álvaro Arbeloa to utilise him regularly at the club.

If things don't improve at the Premier League side, he may have to look for a way out in January.

Fulham midfielder Iwobi leads all players in chances created in first half against Man Utd
Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi produced an impressive first half display against Manchester United, leading all players on the pitch for chances created, according to football statistics website Whoscored.

The Cottagers are still searching for their win of the season, after Matheus Cunha's 89th minute strike cancelled out Lisandro Martínez's 63rd minute own goal.

Making his fifth consecutive start of the season, Iwobi was in action for 71 minutes, before making way for César Palacios.

The Nigeria international created five chances during the opening 45 minutes, more than any other player involved in the Premier League clash at Craven Cottage.

Iwobi also created two big chances, underlining his influence in the final third as Fulham looked to trouble the Manchester United defence.

The 30-year-old has established himself as an important figure in the Fulham side with his creativity and ability to link midfield with attack making him a key outlet for the Cottagers.

The Hale End Academy graduate registered two shots, with one on target, completed one dribble and recorded a perfect 100 percent passing accuracy.

Iwobi has been named in the latest Nigeria squad for a pair of 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.

Fulham Memories marks World Alzheimer's Day
World Alzheimer's Day takes place on 21 September each year as part of World Alzheimer's Month, a global campaign dedicated to raising awareness of Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.
Across the world, Alzheimer's and dementia organisations mark the occasion through memory walks, fundraising events and awareness campaigns that shine a light on the experiences of those living with dementia and the people who support them.

Ahead of this year's World Alzheimer's Day, Fulham FC Foundation welcomed Fulham FC midfielder Sander Berge to a special Fulham Memories session hosted at Tudor Drive Library in Kingston.
During the afternoon, Sander spent time chatting with attendees, listening to their stories and discussing memorable matches, favourite players and standout moments from seasons gone by. Attendees also had the opportunity to take part in a variety of interactive activities, with conversations centred around the club's rich history and the role football can play in bringing people together.

Fulham Memories is designed to help people living with dementia and memory loss reconnect through shared experiences and meeting like-minded individuals. The sessions provide a welcoming and supportive environment where members can meet others, socialise and reflect on moments from their personal lives whilst improving their physical wellbeing through chair-based exercises.

Fulham 1-1 Man United: Referees 'would not let Red Devils lose' amid Premier League injustice
Fulham head coach Alvaro Arbeloa has accused the referees of not wanting Manchester United to lose in Sunday's 1-1 Premier League draw at Craven Cottage because of the injustice Michael Carrick's side faced in the Manchester derby.

The Red Devils were poor for large spells of a tight contest in West London, but they managed to salvage a point when Matheus Cunha fired home a deflected 89th-minute equaliser to cancel out Lisandro Martinez's second-half own goal.

Arbeloa vented his frustration around 35 seconds before Man United's equaliser when the visitors were given a free kick on the halfway line for a foul by Cesar Palacios on Harry Maguire.

The Fulham boss felt that the decision was soft, and claimed that Peter Banks and his officiating team gave "all fouls" to the Red Devils because of the "error in judgement" made by VAR to incorrectly award Erling Haaland's winning goal at Old Trafford last weekend.

Speaking to Sky Sports in his post-match interview, Arbeloa said: "All fouls for them. You can see before they scored, the foul against Maguire, he's a guy who is 100 kilos. Every decision was for them.

"And I knew. I knew after the game against Man City that they [would not] let Manchester United lose here. We deserved a little bit more.

Arbeloa "not happy" and "frustrated" with refereeing decisions
"We were so close. So, so close. We were a little bit unlucky again. We knew it would be difficult against this big team.

"Also we knew what happened last week. We have seen what the referees have been doing all the match so it was a difficult game. And we were unlucky."

Navigating the press conference in his self-admitted "not so good" English, Arbeloa backtracked slightly but still managed to communicate his overall frustration.

The Spaniard said: "My English is not so good. Maybe I explain myself so bad and I prefer not to say anything about the referees because you never know.

"When you say something that you don't have to say, it's better to stay calm, focus on the performance of my team and focus on the next game.

"I'm not really happy. Like I said, I need to be focused and put my energy in all the things that I have to improve.

"[Maguire] is a very big guy and maybe it wasn't a foul. But it's OK. Like I said, I prefer to analyse the game, players, systems and it's the best for win. You know when you draw a game like that, maybe you're a little bit frustrated."

Fulham enter international break in Premier League relegation zone
The draw for Fulham leaves them in 19th place in the Premier League table as one of three top-flight teams without a win from the first five matches of the new season.

Fulham are next in action after the international break on October 10 when they travel to Ipswich Town, before face two more newly-promoted teams in Hull City and Coventry City in the following two weeks.

Daniels appointed Under-21s Head Coach

The Club is delighted to announce that Charlie Daniels has been appointed as the new Under-21s Head Coach.

Daniels took training on Monday and will be in the dugout for the EFL Trophy tie away at Leicester City tomorrow evening.

He told fulhamfc.com: "I'm really excited to be joining Fulham. This is a Club with a fantastic reputation for developing young players and providing a pathway into First-Team football.

"This is a great opportunity to work with talented young players at such an important stage in their development, as well as being part of a Club with clear standards and ambitions. I'm passionate about helping players and preparing them for the demands of men's football.

"I'm looking forward to getting straight to work, especially with a game coming up so soon. It's an exciting challenge ahead which I'm looking forward to getting stuck into."

Steve Wigley, Academy Director, added: "Charlie brings a wealth of experience from an outstanding playing career, having made 500 domestic appearances from League Two all the way up to the Premier League.

"His experience of playing at every level, as well as his coaching background with Watford's First-Team and U21s side, makes him a fantastic addition to our academy programme."

Daniels enjoyed a professional playing career that spanned 17 years. He is best known for his time at AFC Bournemouth, where he played over 250 times for the Cherries, playing a pivotal role in their rise from League One to the Premier League.

His eight-year stint in Dorset was sandwiched by spells at Chesterfield, Gillingham, Leyton Orient, Shrewsbury Town, Portsmouth and Colchester United. He retired in 2022 on exactly 500 professional appearances.

After hanging up his boots, Daniels cut his coaching teeth with Watford. He began coaching in the Youth Development Phase, before becoming U18s Head Coach, and then U21s Head Coach.

Following the departure of Javi Gracia in February 2026, Daniels stepped in as First-Team Interim Head Coach, taking charge of two games in the Championship.

The Hornets appointed Ed Still as their permanent Head Coach later that month, with Daniels stepping into the role of First-Team Coach. He left Vicarage Road in June after nearly five years with the Club.

Everyone at Fulham would like to offer Charlie a warm welcome to the Club.

The Club would also like to thank Dan Thomas for taking charge of the U21s on an interim basis, with Thomas now resuming his role as U21s Assistant Head Coach.

I think AA needs to zip it, stop whining about how the refs called the game, v 'big club' ManU.  Sounds like a real whiner.  Carrick was crying and whining about the non call on the hand ball shout v Bassey.  I don't see any benefit in all the crying.  It makes you look small.  And also likely goes into the refs notebook for future reference and may bias future calls........
