The forum went well - we spent a large part of it talking about the hike in ticket prices in riverside. basically they said they empathised with supporters, but it was a business decison taken after alot of consideration. people got a bit emotional about this, but it did not really kick off

as regards how to boost away support - they said they recognised it as a problem and are thinking of introducing a loyalty scheme.

we will not move to a new stadium. as regards increasing capacity of the cottage, this is on the middle burner as opposed to lower/higher bunrer. they want to see caraven cottage sell out a little more over the medium term, and then they will look to increase capacity.

..."a business decision" - well that's ruddy obvious!

Very poor show, even though those who choose to sit in the Riverside tend to be better off than other mere mortals there is a recession going on other businesses are reducing prices or having sales to try and get 'customers'- still mustn't upset the players and ask them to have a wage freeze...

I'd like to see it kick off in the Riverside. That is as likely as Gordon Brown winning the next election.
I can visualise people throwing their walkers onto the pitch, but kicking off?

Would anybody notice it "kicking off " in the riverside? sat there once,  great view but dead as a grave yard, more fans talking about their business dealings than watching the game.

This was the Riverside only a few weeks ago when the foie gras salad ran out -

I have sat in the Riverside a few times, I even tried singing once but it just felt awkward for me and everyone else.

Oh, so that was you was it??  >:(

The Equalizer

Young Airfix had the drum in the Riverside for a while. The amount of people around us with earplugs and disapproving expressions was quite incredible.
"We won't look back on this season with regret, but with pride. Because we won what many teams fail to win in a lifetime – an unprecedented degree of respect and support that saw British football fans unite and cheer on Fulham with heart." Mohammed Al Fayed, May 2010

Yep that was me. The stewards asked me to leave at half time, but by that point all the Riversiders had left anyway.

Sad really. I sat there in the days before I had had a season ticket, when four other people sat in the entire stand. You could move wherever you wanted. Posh people didn't exit, common people didn't exit. Those were the days. What ever happened? Oh yeah, we became succesful. Damn
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

Hold on a minute, I sit in the Riverside(yes sit) and I bet my passion for Fulham against you lot. OK so it is not the noisiest, but there are plenty of youngsters in there along with us old fogeys. Also, are'nt pensioners allowed to go to football. As for my walker, yes I did through it away and lo and behold, I can walk again. Lastly, just because it is quiet, dose'nt take away the fact that like all of you, we are Fulham Supporters.

The problem with the hike in pricing for youngsters and concessions was passionately put buy a few of the people who attended. The increase is for both the Riverside and Johnny Haynes "centre blocks". The club wants to charge nearly the same for all tickets bought in these areas. This means that under 16's and pensioners have to pay nearly as much as 'normal adults' which will force a number of families and long term supports away from their regular seats.

This is purely a marketing exercise so that the club can try to reduce the monies MAF is putting in, Fulham FC shouldn't be MAF's charity!

For loyal supporters who have visited Craven Cottage through thick and thin, and we've known an awful lot of thin, now that we've become successful money can be made from the 'new comers', and that is what the club/business intend to do. Alistair did say that we are in a competitive market and that if we were Arse supporters we would have to pay £1000+ for our season tickets, whilst he has a point, Arse have been far more consistently successful and I guess we're seeing what the longer term holds for Fulhams customers if we have consistently successful seasons? However, when we stop being successful they will be welcome back.

My problem with this is that the club/business is that "we" are no longer seen as fans or supporters, we are customers

As a by-the-by the LG sponsorship ends this season, so far LG have not shown interest in continuing. I recommended that seeing Fullers London Pride would be quite appropriate ;)
