Sorry im late on this one Grace had to have her Kidney test first thing this morning so it was early too bed early to rise.

A mild autumn morning and no mini bus where on our way to Sandown and kick off is in  an hour three black cabs are hailed £195.00 quid later we arrive at the ground of Elm Grove Colts a team who narrowly missed out on promotion to the premier elite league last year by drawing there last game of the season .

The first 15 mins was All Redbrick possession getting caught off side no more than seven times ! The Colts held a very high defensive line and were well organised.
The break came through on the 30th minute when the ball was punted from the keeper and on a hard and bobbly pitch took one bounce that beat there defence and allowed Ben to take the ball out to the right of the eighteen yard box and execute a subtle pass to Big D who tapped the ball into an empty net.
The  next incident was on the 33rd minute when a stray back pass by the Colts defence allowed Big D to run at the ball with the keeper running out to collect it , you could see what was going to happen the keeper all of 5ft 6 and Big D 6ft 4 .Keeper taken off with a badly swollen leg.
First half injury time Redbrick got a second very simular to the first this time Big D paying the complement to ben who slotted the ball from around 5 yards 2-0 Redbrick.

The second half had only just started when the Colts got themselves a corner and with the wind in there favour and Redbricks keeper off his line. The ball sailed in from the corner straight into an empty net 2-1
This spurred on the Colts who attacked and had two one on ones against the Redbrick keeper "Now what Nick lacks in brain power he certainly makes up with brawn and bravery and took the ball off the strikers feet both times"
On the 63rd minute Jonah our glue footed midfield makes a mazy run beating three players only to see his strike bounce off the upright and with Ben following in easiest of tappings 3-1 Redbrick

At 3-1 the Colts should have ben given a penalty when Redbricks central defender tackled there player from behind I didn't see it ( Linesman) However the ref had a good view and didn't give it.

On the 74th minute Redbricks Captain and midfield general Terry crashed a twenty yarder against the cross bar.

With the game almost finished Ben received the ball out on the right jinked pass two players to calmly slot the ball home 4-1 Redbrick.

Even though it finished 4 - 1 this was an evenly contested game the only difference between the teams that i could see was the closing down and fitness .Redbrick never give you time on the ball and have a training session during the week were they don't kick a ball and just do circuits.

Bens tally 7 goals 3 games first time hes had a hat trick on the trot!

I 2nd that, hope baby Grace is making good progress.

Well done Redbrick in making a good start to the season, my own under 12s team also played Elm Grove Colts, albiet under 12s, Elm grove under 12s have hardly been beaten in 4 years after winning the Surrey Primary and Surrey youth Prem divisions, but they are in with the big boys now of the Surrey Youth league Premier Elite, after  our previous weeks win againstthe so called favourite for the league, Tooting and Mitcham 1-0, confidence was high, we raced into a 1-0 lead against Elm grove only to not finish them off , half time came and 2nd half was a different story as Elm Grove looked a different side and dominated the half finally getting a deserved equaliser 10 mins from the end, so finishing 1-1, but we sit joint 2nd at the mo, so not too bad

Great stuff, Mr Daddy. Keep them coming. Redbrick is becoming my second team :54:

My thoughts and prayers are with Baby Grace and the rest of your family. I often have a chat with the man upstairs about it. You are a good man Mr Daddy, and more often than not the guy with the white hat wins :045:
