True he did'nt score a lot wduring his only time as a first division player but he did start scoring more once Charlie Mitten joined in 1952. Then when Bobby Robson and Johnny Haynes came into the team, then he really started scoring, so much so that, even as a Second division player he won numerous representative honours, including two England caps. Yes, Newcastle did make enquiries about buying the three of them.
