If, after brief retrospective period Khan demands Ali Mac falls on his sword in retribution for this shambles of a season. Who would be, both demanding and charismatic to lead our club back to the limelight?

One name I would like see in the frame.

Niall Quinn

Or would our owner turn to an Americian hard nose to run an outfit purely in his interest, creating more and more links with The Jags???

I couldn't fault khan for choosing someone he knows and trusts after what Ali has done to him this season

It's such a unique job though, that it would be hard to just "replace" him. We want someone with either footballing experience, or with experience of running a football club.

cant stand niall quinn at all, he was the man that appointed keane, gave him shed loads to spend on some average players and then wondered why they were not performing

I hear that Brian McBride is visiting the Cottage on Sunday.

Was hoping for a little more incisive comment than " can't stand Niall Quinn"

McBride certainly has the charisma, but has he the business nous?

Any more suggestions?

I know that Les Reed was sort of around at one point. Wasn't Franco Baresi some sort of executive in 2002?

I want somebody that will look at youth players, promote good football and has the business side. I don't want somebody like Franco Baldini, who just buys a load of players that the manager doesn't want.

I like Ali Mac, barring this January, where we actually don't know what's gone on with the Mitroglou signing, he hasn't done anything badly. We're talking about a six year tenure that's featured the turn from yearly relegation candidates to mid table, which included a Europa League final, our highest position and our highest points tally.

We all know that Mohamed Al Fayed was looking to sell, hence not investing into the club, leaving Martin Jol about two years of trying to patch it up. In reality, I think this squad is of a good standard, thus the managements fault for being relegated.

We don't know what goes on behind the scenes. Ali Mac has done a lot of good for Fulham, I don't think that we sack him on the basis of relegation. He's had a lack of funds, but overseen success, and put the right people in charge of the academy.

Well as nobody knows what he actually does. I would like to put our ex manager forward. Nobody knew what the hell Marteen Jol was doing either so the job would be perfect for him.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

i think my comments re his time with Keane are enough.

As for a suggestion depends what your looking for in a CEO, is the owner going to be hands on like MAF to a degree then you don't need someone who can run the shop, if your not going to be here you do need that.

i cant proffer an opinion on who as i dont know who is available or who is a good or bad CEO in terms of football teams. by all accounts Ali Mac is seen by many as a really good CEO

Hmm, who does that sound like?
Logical is just in the name - don't expect it has anything to do with my thought process, because I AM the man who sold the world.

Though not right for the job of ceo Niall Quinn is a really decent guy. First player to give every penny of his testimonial fund to charity,he's a good egg. Don't really understand why anyone would hate the guy.

I'm imagining that Khan will solicit all sorts of opinions in England. I don't think he'll pick an American or even a Continental. I think he'll be looking for someone who understands the Football League and the FA very well.

Khan's not an idiot, yo.

Apprentice to the Maestro

There are two roles, one used to be called the Manager, for the football, and the other the Club Secretary, for the money and paperwork.

I cannot see that Mackintosh is responsible for anything more than the second. Our problems have been with the first role.

What most of those arguing against Mackintosh seem to want is a Director of Football to recommend targets, buy and sell players and hire and fire managers. I am not convinced this role ever really works.

A top manager is not going to really like someone else putting together the squad and being told "there, get on with it" because they are then reduced to not much more than the coach and they will take most of the blame for failure even though they are forced to work with players that they would not have chosen for themselves. Magath won't take kindly to that situation and has previously combined those roles.

I am not convinced by Mackintosh but I am a lot less convinced by the numerous managers and coaches that have failed dismally to inspire and lead the players this season.

How about seeing if they can persuade David Dein back into the game like we did with Keegan?

I was aware of that and a heavy dollop of decency would suit our club.

FTP has made a decent fist for keeping him on given the constraints he was lumbered with over the past two seasons. The club has been handled fairly well up to the point MAF shut down access to the cheque book.

Hmmmmm ......... The next few weeks will be interesting.
