Refs use sock colour a lot. It's a very leg based sport, so last touches and trips are easier to determine if the leg colour is different.

After the Europa final we managed to lose the coach we went there on, hanging around for a couple of hours afterwards so encountered a lot of Athletico fans, they were very sporting, they clapped us, smiled and didn't even try to rub our noses in it. I was also in a neutral section, which apart from the back row was all Athletico, had a good rapport with those around me. Was happy Atheltico won the league and glad they got to the final.

Can't be arsed with vitriol at football, admittedly I don't want Chelsea to win anything but that is because of people like John Terry, horrible footballer/attitude, so if Chelsea had a team of Oscar's/Hazards etc and no John Terry types & attitude (inc Mourinho) I'd be happy to see them do well.

What goes on at other clubs doesn't affect my support for Fulham :-)

Sheff Utd used to play Wednesday in red n white stripes and Weds in
blue n white stripes..And both in black shorts.
Hibs play Celtic both playing in green..Ridiculous all these away
and 3rd strips, just getting more money out the fans who buy them.

When are you referring to?  20/30 years ago?  The game has got SO MUCH faster these days.  Back in the 70s/80s most of the play was practically lethargic by modern standards.  There's also so much more scrutiny on reffing decisions these days that I'm happy with them using any method to get calls right/

Well yeah, but if they can have something that makes them make fewer then why would we not give it to them?  Especially something as simple as different sock colours!

When I first watched FFC in the 70s we regularly changed 'stockings', as they were referred to, from white to black when playing the likes of Chelsea and WHU.  Including the 75 FA Cup final. In fact, I actually prefer that white/black/black combo.
