Seems to me that part of the problem going forward is that Kit is already gone .

Due to our conspicuous lack of activity in january i think there aren't that many others conclusions that we can draw that that Kit Symmons will not be our manager next season  . If Kit didn't want /couldnt get  anyone in then he is gone as it was clearly a huge error of judgement on his part . If he did not get the backing from the club  , then they had already made their decision on his future . Either way its not looking good for him, and as the team will pretty much reflect his mindset I think we have number of acute issues to address. Kit stated on friday that he would not change his philosophy . But it seems to me that that is precisely what he needs to do .

As I see it we are extremely easy and predictable to play against (nothing new granted ), and if teams press us high and aggressively it will stop our creative play and pay dividends as they pick up second balls and hit us on the counter . Teams are quite happy to play beyond our back 4 down the channels and pin us in ; knowing that we give away lots of corners . We get exploited  in wide areas and teams get lots of crosses into our box which we are uncomfortable with .
We either have to sharpen up our passing game considerably  with more pace ,tempo ,and risk taking , or go a lot more direct ourselves .We have all pinpointed that our own shutting down of space and pressurizing the ball is woefully inadequate .
Either way something has to give and we need to freshen things up , but this is something that Kit seems very reluctant to do .
I believe we need to get as much experience onto the pitch at the same time , and the glimmer of hope is that Hoogland and Amorbietta are due to return , and that Ruizs move didn't go through ( opposing teams have had less players to worry about since he has been out of the side ).
But for me the remaning question is has Kit got anything to salvage from the situation ? The squads belief in Kit was clear when he took over from our german friend , but how is it now ?
Im not advocating sacking Kit Symmons as I don't think it will help , but he clearly needs better advice from those surrounding him than he is getting at present.

He has been telling these youngsters how good they are for years and now finds out they are not. A new manager is needed to sort them out and clear them out. I cannot see the point of our academy. Good old reserve team was much better.

We keep hearing about 'freshening things up'. How does he do that. Bring back a tall centre forward was one suggestion because he scores in a lower league. But we are a team who created One shot the entire game on target. So missing loads of chances isn't the problem. Creating them in.

So do we pay wide players. But where are these wide players. Give Roberts more time is one suggestion. A player who is being supposedly carefully brought in but has shown to be very light weight and may not handle longer playing time well.

Who else do we have to freshen things up. We seem to have many central players but really very little else.

I remember everyone wanting Tunnicliffe to return. Hasn't been great.

However the point made in the OP about Kit not being backed may be true. Certainly many (not all) fans found the lack of a couple of players coming in very concerning. Let's Face it any fool can see we need players in certain areas. I will not keep on repeating my opinion on blaming the manger every five minutes. We have had six managers in five years and it has hardly made us better. Until we know if there is any sort of plan, as clearly there hasn't been much of one on the playing side. My concern still lies with those above Symons.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

Agreed. The only option se have imo is to go back to the Wayne played against norwich  tight at the back and play on the break

Kit is really just the symptom of our malaise.  The real problem is above him with those who make the decisions at the club.

..how many of the youngsters has he 'been telling for years'? Out of all the players he mainly picks in a starting XI there's only Bettinelli, Grimmer and Christensen that he dealt with in the U18 and U21s..and to be fair Bettinelli and Christensen have been our top performers.
