As part of the much-publicised quango cull, the FLA has been slated for abolition.  See page 8 of the official list

It's proposed to "transfer the expertise and functions to another body".  Presumably to be defined once the Spending Review has been published.  Might be worth keeping an eye on developments on this front.  Might supporter's organisations see this as a good time to intensify their lobbying whilst the FLA is in a state of flux?
