Well, I did it. Ignored yesterday's game and tuned in for the result. Easier cos it doesn't matter, I suppose. But I have decided to put my support on hold for my sanity's sake.

Football is the way my family comes together. Football in lockdown is having the opposite effect.

No pub lunch, banter and anticipation. Instead exile in the back room with an iPad, an illegal stream that drops out every five minutes - I missed all three goals on Wednesday - and a WhatsApp conversation with my sons that doesn't work without the nuances of everyday speech.

The end result, adding Parker's safety-first tactics that prefer gallant defeat to gambling for a victory, is an evening wasted and sore eyes in the morning.

Then there are the podcasts that do little but tell you what you just saw. I've unsubscribed from them all, we will see if I miss them. Message boards are a harder habit to break...😷

Football in the pandemic is for the TV companies and sponsors. Boris is doubtless delighted we're staying indoors to watch than roaming the streets but don't kid yourself it's a communal experience. Frankly, if we played the  remaining games on Championship Manager it would mean as much (or little).

Anyone else feel like me?

Now I am totally hooked to every Fulham game on TV, it is keeping me going during Lockdown. I have yet to miss a Fulham Lockdown match.
Just wish Parker could find a way out of this goal drought.

fcfulham55

I used to watch other games, I.e. man city games etc...

But lost all interest, just sticking to watching FFC games, but understand where OP is coming from. I get frustrated with the pundits that don't do their homework on us more than anything.

Too much football on TV is turning fans away I personally am bored with football and the priority given to the players the clubs all moan about no winter break being given but play like this so when a manager moans about injury if down to the greed of clubs and receipts fron SKY Sports revenue🙄

It's odd, I felt no enthusiasm for the game yesterday prior to kick off (even less so after) which is strange as I've really been enjoying watching us on the TV this year. Like fcfulham55 I used to watch all other games when they were on but I find myself doing that less and less. I am very much missing the journey up to the cottage and the pub before hand with friends, football was often a secondary reason for leaving the house on a Saturday. Really isn't the same at the moment. Lets hope for an end of season run leading to survival to keep everyone going.
Stand up if you still believe!

I try to never miss a Fulham match.  I may not get to watch them for various reasons but I try to at least listen to them.

On a slightly different note I find it really irritating that the Champions League is now on a different network here in the States and that one has to subscribe to yet another service  :031:

At least I can still watch the Championship matches.
Anyone can blend into the crowd.  How will you standout when it counts?

I had zero enthusiasm for yesterday's game either, I half watched it and barely remember anything of it but the Liverpool & Spurs games even Chelsea were a different story

Neutral games I barely half watch too, Man city I don't even try and watch "ZZZZZ" Leeds entertain me as do Villa and Leciester

I live in the Los Angeles  Now and have pretty much watched Fulham alone for the past 15 years so it makes no difference to me...
I think it makes me enjoy it even more so, but I've never really enjoyed watching games at pubs anyway to many distractions. Can't focus on the game, just me the dog and a cup of tea...

If we win then I'll go to the pub

I have always suffered from nerves watching Fulham. When I went to see the games live it meant something. Now I am out of the habit but would  watch for the latest scores which still made the adrenaline pump. But this season I must admit I haven't felt the need to feed the addiction. I look for the result but even if it is live I am probably still too nervous to watch and besides the weird times of matches means there is always something worth watching somewhere.

Despite feeling the loss of a crowd wouldn't bother me much it turns out it has. I really am not enjoying this season and haven't watched many other matches. Those that I did watch are so full of odd decisions that make no sense to me now. Handballs and offsides and different decisions for the same type of incident. That I hate to say it but the game hasn't felt the same.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

I watch mainly teams around us or The Marvelous Miss Maisel on Amazon

I can identify with every word of this and I am of the opinion that English football is busy destroying the goose that laid the golden egg.

Even after watching that game on Sunday, I just did not worry about losing , football is beginning to become a pointless distraction, the ridiculous decisions that are made, players becoming experts at falling over, every single tackle seems to be a booking. I shall watch the game on Wednesday and if we win I will give a little cheer if we lose, I will have a cup of tea and go to bed.
