Some help please.

Am over from Oz for a few weeks, staying in Cambridge, have a hire car. Coming down for the W.Ham match with friends and family. Given the Tube strike, what would you suggest for driving down in terms of where to park. Will it be feasible to park within walking distance of the ground?  How long to get from the recommended parking spot? Any advice welcomed.

There are plenty of places to park..BUT Parking restrictions do apply nearer to the ground so make sure you check before you park up. Try parking up in Putney and taking a walk through Bishops park to the ground.  Its  about a mile  but its a marvellous walk by the River Thames.

Alternatively, you could try parking just over Hammersmith Bridge in Barnes (Lonsdale Road is just over the bridge on the right) Walk back over the bridge, turn right of the bridge and follow the river direct to the ground, it will take approx 30 minutes but you will be parked close to the A4.

The last 2 years on my annual trip I have parked the other side of Fulham Palace road, (from the groundd) near the hospital which is close to hammersmith tube.
Found a space in minutes and is free at week-ends (I think) Well, I didn't get a ticket.

There's a trading estate off parsons green lane that you could park in.
