It would be nice to get other opinions on this strange expression.

Of course, it wouldn't be effective except if it's parked directly in front
of the goalmouth   (London bus - approx 40' x 14') should be enough,
but wouldn't work in a rugby match.
If it was a muddy pitch it would make a hell of a mess but should stop any shots
but really p*** 0ff the groundsmen.
Does it count as one of the "11 players" I guess Leno would be substituted.
Would it be a corner if the ball strikes it before going out  ?
If needed, it would be changed around at half time, therefore upsetting the Hammy End peeps view..
Route number on bus eg last nights game would have been route 220.
Advertising would be interesting.  Ideas ?
Planning permission, health and safety etc...would be a nightmare.

If the opposition were taking a penalty, a huge sign would flash.........
"YOU MISSED" nah nah nah nah"
Followed by the Who's "Magic Bus"
The bus would need to be driven onto to the pitch to a new anthem
"The Wheels on the bus go round-and-round"
Expect Nimby uprising

Are the winter nights long, dark and lonely in the Mid East US, Roger? Just asking for a friend.
Any fool can criticise, condemn and complain, and most fools do.

Never lonely, but will you be my friend ?
I get these "brain 'f*rts" now an again.
I'm writing some comedy stuff and have been honing my skills (or lack of :0) this morning before I get to "work"
I'm just now coming off a high after last night

Cheers

Good one.
How's it going, without transporting passengers down west country lanes ?

It's definitely going - it's nearly gone..... different life living by the sea

About 4 years ago I tried semi-retirement near Fort Lauderdale, supposedly "everyone's" dream.
Even though I had a great job, and was only 5 minutes drive to various beaches, sea fishing, swimming pool 2 minutes walk away etc   I got bored after 2 years of 90+ degrees every day.  So much arrogance and looking after No1.

Snibbo

This week only make sense if you did "Naming of Parts" in school English lit

PARKING THE BUS
After Henry Reed
For José

To-day we have parking the bus. Yesterday,
We had conning the ref. And tomorrow morning,
We shall have how to waste time. But to-day,
To-day we have parking the bus: the scent of liniment
Sweat and fresh-mown grass drifts across the pitch,
And to-day we have parking the bus.

This is the ankle breaking tackle. And this
Is the studs up tackle, whose use you will see,
When you are given your boots. And this is the offside trap,
Which in your case you have not got. The coaches
pace on the touchline with their frowns and foul language,
Which in our case we have not got.

This is the goal line clearance, which is always performed
With an easy flick of the foot. And please do not let me
See anyone using his hand. You can do it quite easy
If you have any strength in your foot. The injured
Are fragile and motionless, never letting anyone see
Any of them using their hands.

And this you can see is the dive. The purpose of this
Is to fool the ref, as you see. We can dive
Rapidly backwards and forwards: we call this
drawing the foul. And rapidly backwards and forwards
The forwards plummet and the midfielders plunge:
They call it drawing the foul.

They call it drawing the foul: it is perfectly easy
If you have any strength in your foot: like the shirt pull,
And the high tackle, and the shoulder charge, and the trip,
Which in our case we have not got; and the physios
with their magic spray, and the balls going backwards and forwards,
For to-day we have parking the bus.

OZ-WHITE

Parker the Bus...............
is very smartly dressed , bogged in the technical area and busy chewing gum wondering what to do next
If it wasn't for the medication I,d be chewing on your skin
