"Don't worry, it's on last": Lineker.

He must be aware.

To be fair shearer was good in his praise for Marco and Fulham before being shouted down by liniker.

Holders

I just thought that his clear comment showed once and for all that he must be aware of his reputation in that regard. Good for Shearer, we deserved praise and could have done the double over them.

Just felt highlights made a lasting impression on him, which as we know can't always be said Holders.

Holders

On Shearer, yes. Good observation.

Fulham, Brighton and "dare I say it" Brentford all deserve a lot of praise this yr and we all get it !! Maybe not as much as we should though .... They seem to put the three clubs together when praising us 🤷🏼‍♂️

Was the comment because it was a 0-0?

Must be a lot of smaller club fans, of various clubs, feeling they don't get their due coverage compared to the so called elite.

Yes, and the satisfaction in his voice was tangible, like he had a justification for once.

Mr Smug from Smugland. I was in his company once - can't bring myself to say I met him- horrible, egotistical creature.
The world is made up of electrons, protons, neurons, possibly muons and, definitely, morons.

Why on earth would Gary Lineker either have it in for Fulham or be in charge of the scchedules for MotD?  064.gif

We drew nil nil on a Friday night, and the highlights had already been shown absolutely everywhere by the time that show came on.  The world isn't flat lads, don't worry about it.

I think he's aware of the criticism that top clubs get the most coverage= thus his tone, but, as you say, others probably decide on the running order of the programme, which is designed, obviously, to pull in an audience, so high profile games, with the big stars, that seem exciting with a lot of goals get priority.
But I think Fulham were first game on recently.

There's no reason why he would be against Fulham personally - he comes from Leicester and played for them, and supports them, and they aren't a big club.
I don't understand the vitriol directed towards him - he sems a decent enough bloke to me, good at his job, and has sense of humour about it all - he needs it!

At least Fulham are now on MOTD, think of all the clubs  outside the Prem who aren't on it, and most of then never likely to be.

Lineker is as Wooden as a Woodpecker in a Timber Yard, no charisma and the worst presenter and commentator on TV and i include a corpse in that statement..
As dull as a miners lamp.
He obviously has friends in high places, jobs for the boys.
Its not the man in the fight, it's the fight in the man.  🐘

The worst presenter on TV is just a ridiculous statement IMHO.

You obviously don't watch Sky Sports

Feel the need to disagree here Mr M, I quite like him, was very decent on the occasions I have met him, whilst I was at Fulham.

I think Lineker's a very good presenter - capable of an ad-lib so definitely not wooden, in my opinion.

I also think we got good coverage for our performance on Friday night. Even at half-time, Carragher was saying we had been 'fantastic'. Post-match, Carragher and Neville spent half-an-hour praising us. An interview with Ream and Willian was shown before Marco was invited pitch-side to join the discussion. Only after this was an obligatory interview with Potter aired. And while we are mightily proud of the players, it's not as if we won against a  Ch***ea team at the top of their game. It was 0-0 against disjointed opponents in which we tested their goalkeeper seriously only the once. I imagine most neutrals would consider weekend performances by Everton and Wolves as being more of an achievement than ours.

Moreover, I can only assume those who are upset we were last on MOTD do not normally watch the programme. If they did, they would know a Friday night fixture is almost always shown last, irrespective of which clubs are involved.

Lineker will almost certainly not be in charge of running order; and he certainly didn't shout Shearer down either - would have been a producer telling him they had run out of time.

The paranoia of football fans is is fairly astonishing at times.

I think we're not getting quite the same coverage as Brighton or Brentford as they have had quite a few scalps with big wins, and that's when people by and large seem to take notice. Til then, we're probably not going to get quite as much hype.

i think this all the time, also the uproar on here when our games are on TV because the pundits don't evenly talk about fulham 50% of the time and/or talk about every single possible incident we had compared to the other team, people lose their minds about it. Its truly baffling

"Behind the Curve" on Netflix. TV gold, if you are patient enough to wade through the delusional tripe the true believers spout. Wait until you see their attempts to prove their version of reality is the real one. I did feel a little sorry for their leader, clearly in love but unable to express this to his muse, for fear she would reject him.

Ah cheers!  I will stick that on tomorrow, I could do with a laugh.

But seriously lads. There is no agenda, Lineker is a bloody good presenter even if you don't agree with his politics and we do get our fair share of coverage most of the time.
