Whats the point of this discussion regarding players heights  - do we need planning permission for some of them?

It's a tactical advantage to have a tall squad when it comes to set pieces both defensively and offensively. Additionally it can help with pace for example.

All the heights I got were off Google.

Also, there is no way on earth that Harrison Reed is 6ft as I'm taller then him by a significant amount and I'm 6ft.

Spot on, height is really important, it can give a team an advantage defensively and offensively.
It's an advantage covering the ground too.

Couldn't agree more for all the reasons Rebel and General have stated, and apart from high balls, set pieces etc which is important to dominate the air as well as on the ground.
You have to have a physical presence and that includes height.
Too many times in recent years Fulham have been bullied off the ball and bully off the park to our demise and will we ever learn.
The only season we were not which is when we were relegated under Scott Parker we had a tall physical squad in the main and our defensive record was excellent with results against Everton, Liverpool, Leicester, Spurs, to name but a few, because we were not bullied and we dominated the air with height and physicality.
Unfortunately due to a lack of goals we could not stay up, but with that team we should have done.
We have to make ourselves hard to beat and hard to score against.
We are little old Fulham with a budget, not Man City, United or any other big spenders who can pay for one player what we pay for a whole team.
Its not the man in the fight, it's the fight in the man.  🐘

Never forget your Roots.

Somewhere in this merged topic is a topic I created saying I wasn't so sure on mbabu and obviously that was like only 15 mins but I was very impressed, played a couple of delightful crossing, something team has struggled consistently, he delivered the big chance saved by raya, then gave a look for mitro in the box for the goal, and put it exactly where it should go.

I really hope they've got Robinson making notes, as that's the only thing Robinson needs to his game,

Beckham esque from mbabu at the end, few more of them and ill eat my words.

P.s. worked hard to get somewhat of a cross in an earlier point too when defender was trying to shepherd the ball out (love to see that kind of work)

He looks quality, what a crosser - hes got that floated back post cross nailed down... thats a huge weapon for us with Mitro in the team

TheCeiling

What a change he brought to the game the moment he came in. It's like almost having another winger out there.

Funny I've re-read this thread, I had completely forgot I had already done it previously, also interesting to see how Mbabu was getting praise early on with us, shame he regressed rather than pushing on, He has got a really good cross on him.

Crazy if he were to sign for man u

After reading this comment I did a quick Google search- it seems Man United are indeed interested in Mbabu.. it would be a little bizarre if the deal went through wouldn't it

Mbabu if true it would be a quick stay at Fulham ,one of the quickest I can remember.

Sounding like he might sign for manure this week

Apparently been told he can go, United only looking at cheap options or loans due to takeover (doesn't affect others so the glazers must not be spending anything at all) so take advantage I say.

Get a feeling Mbabu came in thinking he'd be first choice RB but Kenny's obviously been immense. Seeing as Bobby was preferred over him when Kenny was out I can only assume Kevin has kicked off in the wrong way about not getting more minutes and not shown the attitude Marco wanted to see (granted he'd had a couple of shaky games but some of that was out of position on the left).

Might be connecting dots that aren't correct but based on team selections / Man U rumours this seems a distinct possibility. If so then best to rip off the band aid, everybody shake hands and go their separate ways and we get someone else (better) in.

Yep, I didn't think we'd let him go so quickly, but that's clearly looking likely now. Just seen a tweet and interview form Cairney saying Mbabu is the guy always late for training so maybe Silva just isn't happy with his commitment. As well, moving on.

Shame it's not worked out, but clearly Silva doesn't trust him enough and (as mentioned above by 1987) a recent video from Cairney suggest that Kevin's not the hardest worker in training...

Utd sniffing is an odd rumour if true, as Mbabu barely gets a look in here, but I guess Dalot must be out for a while and/or ETH wants to shift Bissaka this window and needs a speedy backup.

Either way, if he goes I wish him all the best.

Should never turn up late and expect to be picked.

I thought I read somewhere in all this that Mbabu has already played for 2 clubs this season and so can't move on as you are not allowed to play for 3 clubs in the same season.

Mbabu has not played for any club other than us this season as far as I am aware, signed on 27 July 2022 from Wolfsburg (whom he joined from Young Boys in July 2019) so before the start of our season. However pretty sure Manure would have checked first IF they are serious.

Fulham 442

Hope we can shift him this window. For whatever reason it hasn't worked out. Best for both parties Mbabu moves on...

I don't mean to be disrespectful as you seem to be the author - but this article simply tells us what we already know, without adding any great insight, science or research. It's also quite poorly written.

alfie

I thought he played ok last night, as someone said 1 howler, but others made mistakes as well.

For a micro second I thought the headline said 'Fulham sign Mbappe.'
