Quote from: Arthur on August 31, 2024, 12:54:32 PMas a supporter, I'm not going to assume the worst about my Club.

Agree/sympathise with your post until this last half-sentence, which is a point you've made before.

On this forum fans will readily slag off employees or former employees of the club (Magath, Parker, Mike Rigg, various players over the years, et al) but for some reason any criticism of those employees responsible for transfers (TK/AM/BT) gets interpreted as a criticism of "the club" itself rather than the individual. I've never understood the logic of that dichotomy.

Personally I'd compare the so-called "negative" posters on this forum to a loving, responsible father who sees a teacher not getting the best out of his child, and asks whether a different teacher would do better. I can't see how that is any less "supportive" than just trying to find a positive interpretation of the status quo.

I have no problem with rephrasing my last sentence: "In which case, I'm not going to assume the worst about Tony Khan, Alistair Mackintosh or even the guy who sweeps the dressing rooms without what I see as reasonable evidence."

When I write something such as: '...from exonerating the Club to giving it a verbal kicking', it's obvious, at least to me, I am referring to those who are involved in conducting and/or sanctioning our transfer dealings.

The issue for me is the terms. Fee-free loan with no option to buy just says "stopgap". In a best case scenario where he turns out to be great, we either won't have him with us next year or will have our tro?users pulled down on the fee.

Nuamah on a perm would have inspired a lot more confidence.

With no guarantees that he will prove himself in the premiership?

I think it best you do. Before you have to claim that when you read: "And we agreed a fee for him more than a week ago", you thought I meant you and me.
