In the  early 1990 's I was in the Riverside Bar when I  heard  young chap buying a drink with a distinct  northern accent wearing a black  and white scarf.

Turned out he was from Macclesfield and supported Fulham  because his Dad did - the Dad had no connection to the South East , just  always supported Fulham . Used  to take him  and his sister  to  watch Fulham when they played in the north   now  and then . Thankless task  very  often  as  in those days Fulham were struggling  in the lower  leagues.

They played Macclesfield in the Cup in the late 60's and Dad was on the Macclesfield  supporters coach and  on the way home had to pretend he was sad  as Fulham won.

The  chap said he was getting married soon so  wasn't  sure when  he would be next back at CC -  hopefully  still  a Fulham fan.
There's a 14 year old Leeds fan wandering around West Cumbria in a Fulham shirt, he likes ESR so got a Fulham shirt with his name on it for Christmas. Not technically a fan but fan of one of our players.

Southcoastffc

I know a couple of Geordies who have Fulham as their 2nd team. One works in London and one in Worcester Park. Both have long attended (occasional) games at the Cottage and are pretty enthusiastic about us.
The world is made up of electrons, protons, neurons, possibly muons and, definitely, morons.

Not the north, but as a big fan of This Country I was chuffed that Charlie Cooper (from Cirencester) is one of us.

On a similar vein, the boyfriend of a very sexy acquaintance of my partner is a Fulham fan despite them both being from Oxford. Often see him at games. Hope my Mrs isn't reading this  ::cool::
