Do we need to buy a new striker?

Yes
No

I think there's a clear consensus that we should buy a striker. The discussion is more about whether we should sign a "20 goal a season" striker or a young development striker to replace Raul by season's end.

My vote is for a young raw talent to stretch our existing duo (and maybe/hopefully exceed them).

As I said in another thread recently, it's pretty much impossible to get a "20 goal a season" striker, as there are barely any in the world (very few players scored 20+ goals in the league this season in most European leagues).

I do agree with the conclusion though.

Mind you if you do manage to find one it's not very likely they would choose Fulham.

i voted yes . im extremeley compassionate re the two we have and anyone better will be hard to find but if the club can afford it then yes keep our two lads and get someone in that will end up a big improvement.

they are out there Chris Smalling is a perfect example (although hes a defender I know )

Depends on your goals. Each year, staying up has to be ours, as much as we'd like to "push on".

The relegated teams this year were particularly poor, but the last 5 seasons suggests you need a -15 goal difference to stay up. We can get that with our current team, no problem at all.

So, do we need a striker? Yes, in the sense that we need a backup to the two we have. Do we need one who can push them? Yes, ideally, in that we need someone who can make a difference in a game if one of our current two is injured (which we never really trusted Vini to do).

But do we NEED a really good one? Only if we think we can bridge the gap to European places, and if we can find one better than what we have at a price we can afford. That will be very difficult.

Get someone in from France or Portugal, or get Ferguson on a season-long loan.
