He did some pretty good films.

The Sting was a great one to watch growing up, the Last Castle, the Spy Game, All the Presidents men.

They don't make actors the same nowadays. Back in the day actors did all the work and had to go through the motions a lot more. Storylines were more believable as were characters.

Shame we're losing that with every decent actor that passes away.

Still miss the indomitable Robin Williams too.

The days of cinema of my generation has gone. That isn't necessarily bad just a fact. Streaming means I am far more likely to put up with average content than if I had to spend lots of money on a cinema ticket.

As well as being a major star. Redford was able to move into directing films and made 'Ordinary People' a successful film but one that I remember being dragged to the cinema to see. Full of great actors and a moving film.

His star quality often overshadowed the fact that he was in some classic films. A true great and one of the generation of actors who made event cinema. Something we may never see again.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

Yes, a fine actor in some excellent movies.

The Natural would be one of my favourite sports films (baseball). A bit hokey but really well put together with a great cast. Robert Duvall, Wilford Brimley and a superb hat-trick of lady actors, Glenn Close, Barbara Hershey and Kim Basinger.

Spygame was a great file that went under the radar and he was fantastic in it

RIP Robert
Remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
I will be as good as I can be and when I cross the finishing line I will see what it got me

Love him and Paul Newman in both Sting and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

RIP!
Anyone can blend into the crowd.  How will you standout when it counts?

RIP,

Brubaker was an undrrated movie.
Guy goes into the doctor's.
"Doc, I've got a cricket ball stuck up my backside
"How's that?"
"Don't you start"

Ara's bacon crisps

Also a quick mention for Three Days of the Condor - always loved that. Can't remember ever seeing him in a bad film, which is a pretty decent yardstick for me of how good he was.
