'Continuity gives stability' – Fulham coach explains surgical transfer approach
Fulham assistant coach Gonçalo Santos believes stability has been key to the club's consistency in the Premier League.

Speaking to Bola na Rede, the Portuguese coach said that keeping "around 90%" of last season's squad allowed the team to stay competitive without heavy spending.

He explained that the club were "surgical" in the market, choosing to make few but precise additions rather than overhaul the group. "Continuity gives stability to the club, to the staff and to the players, who already know the manager's ideas," Santos noted.

Daily intensity defines Fulham's players
Asked which player had surprised him most, Santos refused to single anyone out, praising instead the group's collective work ethic. The Premier League's intensity, he said, is what truly sets it apart. "You only realise it when you live it," he admitted. "Even when you're winning 2-0 in the 80th minute, the game is never over."

According to Santos, Fulham's players have impressed not only with their quality but with their "daily application and competitiveness", traits that keep them sharp week after week.

Jiménez's experience and Kevin's promise
Santos praised Raúl Jiménez for his leadership and resilience, describing him as "a player perfectly adapted to the Premier League" and "a huge asset" to Fulham. The Mexican striker, now one of the league's most experienced foreign forwards, continues to provide goals and stability for the side.

He also spoke about Kevin, the young summer signing once linked to Sporting. The coach said the winger is still adapting to English football but has "enormous potential" and could become "one of the pleasant surprises of the season."

Following Willian's example
Comparisons between Kevin and former Fulham winger Willian have already surfaced, and Santos sees it as a compliment. He described Willian as "a legend" who set a standard for excellence, adding that Kevin is "still learning the language, the rhythm and the culture," but has what it takes to succeed.

For Santos, that blend of experience and youth is exactly what keeps Fulham evolving without losing its identity. A team built on effort, understanding and belief in Marco Silva's project.

David Moyes' interesting managerial record against Marco Silva ahead of Everton vs Fulham
Everton play host to Fulham at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this weekend, and here is David Moyes' managerial record against Marco Silva.

The Opta Supercomputer fancies Everton to beat Fulham, despite David Moyes' side winning one of their last eight games in all competitions.

Although, it shouldn't be too much of a surprise given that the Toffees have a really strong record at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this season, conceding defeat on just one occasion.

Fulham are also struggling in the Premier League this season, and actually sit joint bottom in the away table.

They're yet to win on the road, and Moyes' decent record against Silva should give Everton even more confidence.

David Moyes has the edge over Marco Silva
Moyes has faced Silva seven times throughout his career, with the first meeting dating back to May 2017 when Sunderland faced Hull City.

Across the years, Moyes has just edged it, as his side's have won four, drawn none and lost three to the Portuguese head coach.

Record vs     Played   W    D    L    PPG
Marco Silva     7   4    0    3    1.71

That data suggests this weekend's game is unlikely to be a draw, as clearly their styles have made for open games in the past.

The last meeting between the pair saw the Toffees win 3-1 at Craven Cottage towards the end of last season, with Vitali Mykolenko, Michael Keane and Beto on the scoresheet.

This time around, Everton aren't in brilliant form, but they still have lots of quality to hurt Fulham, with Jack Grealish, Iliman Ndiaye and even Tyler Dibling, who hasn't been given a fair chance up to now.

David Moyes has to make wholesale changes vs Fulham
Clearly, there is a pressing need to make changes to the team and freshen things up, as Everton have become stale.

Everton fans were frustrated that Dibling didn't come off the bench against Sunderland, with Moyes opting for Dwight McNeil instead.

Merlin Rohl didn't get a single minute either, which is pretty baffling, so those two should be handed a start against Fulham.

Elsewhere, it'd be interesting to see James Garner at right-back, as he could provide a much better attacking threat. That would allow Jake O'Brien to move back into his favoured position as a centre-back.

Whilst he hasn't looked great, Thierno Barry should be given another start and allowed more than an hour on the pitch to prove himself.

The chopping and changing off the strikers isn't allowing either of them to get into a rhythm.

Is Harry Wilson underrated at Fulham?
Following his goal over Wolves last weekend, Jack Stroudley looks at the importance of our Welsh winger.

There's been a lot of talk around wingers at Fulham for a while now. Breaking our transfer record for a dazzling and shiny Brazilian was always going to peak the interest of Fulham fans, and Kevin is slowly but surely showing that he can flourish in the Premier League. Samu Chukwueze has also come in and shown promise, Adama Traore is often perceived in a much different light, and Alex Iwobi is now being talked about for his ability to play slightly deeper in midfield.

But there's one name who, no matter what he seems to deliver, is often overlooked. Harry Wilson's cool, calm and collected finish last Saturday epitomised what he can do for us and helped Fulham breathe a sigh of relief on our way to a much-needed three points, but just how important is Wilson to this side?

Moments of magic
Brentford away, Brentford at home (three times), Chelsea away and Wolves at home all have one thing in common: Harry Wilson coming in clutch. He's developed a knack over the last year to put himself in the right place at the right time when Fulham need it most. People often talk about Rodrigo Muniz for his late, late antics but Wilson goes about that same business in a much quieter manner.

Harry is a somehow still an underrated part of Silva's squad. He was pivotal in the Championship and is just as crucial now. He's in the top 30% (across wingers in Europe's top five divisions) for goals and top 14% for shots. He has a keen eye for goal while also not being afraid of doing the dirty work when needed being in the top 23% for tackles and top 18% for clearances.

Lack of consistency?
I hear the cries from those who haven't (like me) got a first-class ticket aboard the Harry Wilson train about a potential lack of consistency that can let his game down, so let's dive into that. Since promotion to the Premier League, Harry Wilson has 24 goal contributions in 98 appearances averaging just under one per four games. Not terrible on the face of it, but if we look at his minutes played, it actually make this look even better.

There's no denying that Wilson has had spells since promotion out of the side due to injury and squad depth, meaning he's had to often shine during cameos from the bench. If we break down his actual minutes he's played 4,470 in the Premier League, equating to 49.6 90-minute appearances. Which means going off this his goal contribution ratio goes from one every 4.1 games to one every 2.06. So, what does this mean?

I'm not for one second suggesting that if Wilson had started just 50 games he'd have still got those 24 contributions, but for a player whose struggled for consistent minutes he's still managed to pick up a solid amount of contributions to Marco Silva's side. Imagine what he could've done with a bit of extra trust and fitness.

Underloved?
For the record, this article isn't suggesting for one minute that Harry Wilson isn't appreciated by the Fulham faithful because he absolutely is. His moments over Brentford and Chelsea during the past 12 months alone have put him into Fulham folklore.

I just think sometimes we can be a bit quick to forget the good that Wilson offers us. Yes Kevin looks exciting, yes Chukuweze has started well, Sessegnon will also be pushed further forward once Jedi is back but we shouldn't forget Harry. He's been a magnificent servant to the club and I can't wait to see more of him in a white shirt.

Sunderland and Fulham concerns drop EPL capacity tracker under 97 percent
November 6 – Matchday 10 produced the lowest average stadium capacity of the season so far, with Premier League grounds operating at 96.36% full — the first time the figure has dipped below 97% since Inside World Football began tracking attendance data in August 2023.

The headline, however, lies at the bottom end of the table. Fulham (89.27%) and Sunderland (85.15%) have moved from being attendance headaches to full-blown concerns. Both clubs are now clear outliers in what remains an otherwise strong picture for English football's live matchday scene.

For Fulham, the issue has become entrenched. Even in a comfortable 3–0 home win over Wolves, there were 3,176 empty seats at Craven Cottage — a poor return for a 29,589-capacity ground. Pricing remains a key factor; with season tickets costing over £3,000, Fulham continue to operate at the sharp end of the league's affordability debate.

Sunderland's challenge is a different one — scale. The 48,707-seat Stadium of Light is among the biggest in England, but the historic club are struggling to fill it.

Crowds in excess of 40,000 for a newly-promoted side sound impressive on paper, but the reality inside the ground is more uneven, with large patches of red seats visible even for competitive fixtures as the club sit fourth in the table.

At the other end of the spectrum, West Ham and Nottingham Forest both recorded 99%+ capacity, continuing their strong home support despite mixed form on the pitch. West Ham's 3-1 win over Newcastle gave the London Stadium faithful something to cheer about, while Forest held an in-form Manchester United to a valuable draw at the City Ground.

Liverpool also returned to winning ways, beating Aston Villa 2–0 in front of a 98.58% full Anfield. The slight dip in attendance could be read as a gentle message to Arne Slot's side following a poor run of results. They travel to Manchester City this weekend — a fixture that promises a real test as the Premier League holders look to chase down early leaders Arsenal.

Overall, while Premier League attendances remain world-leading, Matchday 10's figures serve as a reminder that even in football's most commercially successful league, fan engagement and pricing remain delicate balancing acts.

David Moyes can take major step towards saving Everton job by exploiting woeful Fulham record
David Moyes can take a major step towards saving his job at Everton this weekend.

The Toffees are currently enduring a run of just one win in their last seven Premier League games, which has quickly put paid to the positive feeling surrounding the team at the start of the season.

Frustration is growing towards Moyes from the Everton supporters, who showed plenty of signs of unrest during the 1-1 draw away at Sunderland on Monday night.

The Scot has another crucial game on the horizon on Saturday, when Fulham are the visitors to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Fulham have lost four consecutive league games away from home
Everton may not risk Iliman Ndiaye against Fulham, after he was forced off during the draw with Sunderland through injury.

The Senegal international's problem is not thought to be anything too serious, but Saturday's game could still come too soon for him to make an impact, especially from the start.

The timing of the winger's injury could not have been much worse for Moyes and his team, given that they face a hugely winnable game on home turf against Fulham.

Marco Silva's side are currently sat just one place and one point below Everton in 15th, amid a start to the season that has continuously seen them take one step forward followed by two steps back.

The Cottagers are excellent on their own patch, but they have a woeful away record that Moyes must surely be looking to exploit this weekend.

Fulham have lost four consecutive league games on the road, with their opening day draw at Brighton the last time they managed to avoid defeat on their travels.

Everton will be desperate to see that record continue this time around, as it could be set to hand them a vital three points in the context of their season, and help to ease some of the pressure on their manager.

Everton haven't beaten Fulham at home since 2018
Beto delivered a rare masterclass for Everton in their last meeting with Fulham, as they won 3-1 at Craven Cottage back in May.

However, aside from that victory, their recent fortunes against the West London outfit have been anything but favourable.

That is the Toffees' only victory in their last eight clashes in all competitions, while you have to go back to 2018 to find the last time that Everton beat Fulham on Merseyside.

That is one record that Moyes will be desperate to set straight this weekend, and if he isn't able to, then the pressure from the fanbase will only continue to build.

Games for the weekend 08/11...
An away trip to Everton's new stadium for a 3 o'clock kick off
The game against Wolves was a big one, we really needed that win!
When Ryan scored early in the game I think we all gave a sigh of relief, unfortunately we had to wait until the second half for Harry to double the lead, then after a sustained amount of pressure we managed to force Agbadou into an own goal, 3 points that were really needed. The result didn't flatter us, we could have, perhaps should have, scored more, Chukwueze hitting the woodwork springs to mind, we now need to push on from this.
We've yet to register an away win, in the league, this season, Saturday is a good time to change that.

After breaking the years old "Goodison Park hoodoo" we now get to take on Everton at their new Hill Dickinson Stadium, so far they've only lost to Spurs at their new home, lets see if we can add to that list.

Our record against Everton, for the previous 6 games, is reasonable with 2 wins, 3 draws and 1 loss.

With, more or less, everyone available my team would be...

Everton, Fulham rival Crystal Palace in Nathan Ake chase
Everton and Fulham will compete with Crystal Palace to sign 30-year-old Dutch defender Nathan Ake from Manchester City in the winter transfer window.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Everton and Fulham are keen on signing Nathan Ake. The versatile Manchester City defender is also a target for Crystal Palace. Meanwhile, the 30-year-old is ready to leave the Premier League bigwigs in the winter transfer window, and he will cost around £25 million.

Nathan Ake and his situation
Nathan Ake has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Manchester City from Bournemouth in a deal worth £40 million in August 2020. The 30-year-old has been reliable at the back for the Citizens, but he has never been an undisputed first-choice starter, with his game time dwindling in the last two seasons. Nevertheless, the Dutchman has been a utility man for Manchester City due to his ability to play as a centre-back and a left-back.

The versatile Dutch defender has made over 150 appearances thus far for Manchester City while chipping in with ten goals and three assists. However, the lack of regular game time has left Ake frustrated, and a January exit is possible. The Netherlands international has no shortage of suitors pursuing his signature, with Everton, Crystal Palace, and Fulham among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the winter transfer window.

A man in demand
Everton will dip into the market for a centre-back next year, as James Tarkowski and Michael Keane are on the wrong side of 30. While Tarkowski will likely remain a regular for Everton, they can do with a centre-back. Additionally, Jarrad Branthwaite is a target for several Premier League bigwigs, meaning the Toffees need a new central defender.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace's interest in Nathan Ake makes sense. The Eagles are combing the market for a centre-back heading into the winter transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding Marc Guehi's long-term future. The English international will leave Crystal Palace next year, compelling the South London club to dip into the market for a replacement.

As for Fulham, Marco Silva has several centre-backs in his squad, and it is unclear why the West London club will aim to sign a striker next year. Nevertheless, Ake is a target for Fulham, and a January approach may be on the cards. Meanwhile, Manchester City will demand around £25 million to part ways with the 30-year-old Dutchman in the winter transfer window.

With Ake ready to leave Manchester City in the winter transfer window, a move across the Premier League may be on the cards. However, Serie A clubs have also shown interest in the Dutch centre-back, and the versatile defender will be a hot property in the market.

Here is why Everton's latest training footage should excite fans ahead of Fulham
Everton are preparing for their final Premier League game before the international break against Fulham, with fresh training footage providing some positives.

It was a frustrating return to Wearside for David Moyes on Monday evening after Iliman Ndiaye's opening goal was not built upon as Sunderland secured themselves a point.

For Everton, it is now three games without a victory in the Premier League and just one win since August.

The Blues have, however, won both of their two games prior to the previous two international breaks already held this season.

Jamie Carragher criticised Everton's defending against Sunderland, but it is their lack of goals which is proving the biggest issue.

Ahead of the game, the Toffees have been getting to work at Finch Farm preparing for Saturday's clash at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

And there are some positives to take from the footage recently released by the club.

Iliman Ndiaye spotted ahead of Everton vs Fulham
On Monday evening, Ndiaye was withdrawn in the second half with what appeared to be an injury worry.

Moyes admitted Ndiaye was likely suffering from cramp and reassured fans that it was not something they should be worrying about.

The footage shared by the club on Thursday showed Ndiaye in the gym with his teammates and was even putting in some headers to keep Jack Grealish's game of no bounce going.

Michael Keane has shared how hard Ndiaye works in training to keep taking his game to the next level on Merseyside.

Ndiaye is leading the way at the top of Everton's top goalscorer, with no other player having scored more than one goal.

So, having the Senegal international fit and raring to go on Saturday afternoon is going to be of huge significance.

Thierno Barry working on his strength
Moyes admitted Thierno Barry should have doubled Everton's lead against the Black Cats in the first half.

It was a poor miss from the youngster and one that could have finally kickstarted his career as an Everton player.

Now, the 62-year-old is left with a decision of who he is going to start on Saturday up front.

In a recent press conference, Moyes warned Barry and Beto a drastic striker change could come with another forward or midfielder potentially replacing them.

With this in mind, it was a positive to see Barry working on his strength in the gym footage, as he continues to adapt to the English game.

Everton News understands that Everton remain confident Barry will succeed in the Premier League, but it is clear that he is needing some time to settle.

Jack Grealish remains in high spirits
It has now been a number of weeks since Grealish provided Everton with either an assist or a goal, but he came close on Monday,

The 30-year-old rattled the post from distance at the Stadium of Light, which Moyes was gutted to see deflect away from the goal.

"Jack [Grealish] hits the post and when we missed [Thierno Barry's] chance we didn't have enough, then we conceded immediately after kick-off. Goals make the difference and can change how you feel as a manager," said the Scot after the game.

However, Grealish is remaining in high spirits ahead of the game against Fulham with the loanee still joking with his teammates inside the gym.

James Garner has been so impressed with Grealish since he joined in the summer and the game against Fulham will provide him with another chance to impress Thomas Tuchel.

Pre-Everton Press Conference
Marco Silva is looking forward to his first trip to Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Our Head Coach spent a season-and-a-half at the Everton helm, and enjoyed each of his returns to Goodison Park with Fulham, but it's a fresh era for the club now they've moved into their new home at Bramley-Moore Dock.

"It's going to be a good feeling, for sure," Silva replied when asked about the trip. "It's always good when you go back to a place where you are going to see familiar faces and some people that you know very well, and people that treat you very, very well.

"Some people in that structure, some players, they are still there from our time as well. And what I expect is always the same that I got the other times before, to have some good conversation before and after the match with people that I know very, very well, and people that welcome us always very well in that football club.

"[But] when we start the kick-off, each one is going to try to win the game, as always. That is the main thing.

"Of course, Goodison was a special one. Okay, [moving] was the step that the club should give, and they gave. They are pleased with the place where they are playing right now, and it's going to be the first time, first experience for us in that stadium.

"But you can feel it, you can see it, that it's been very, very good for them in that aspect, and we are going to embrace the challenge of playing there against a good side. A side with a very experienced manager, some mature players as well.

"They added some great individuals for their squad, and it's going to be a tough game, like always when you play away from home in the Premier League, when you play away from home against an Everton side, is always very difficult.

"But we have to look back, and the way this group of players changed completely the story of this football club recently against Everton away from home, just shows what we have been doing."

Silva is alluding to a run that has seen Fulham claim seven of a possible nine points away to Everton under his tutelage, in addition to success in a Carabao Cup Quarter-Final.

The Toffees, though, are unbeaten in four of their five Premier League matches at the Hill Dickinson, but when asked if we can continue our good away run against them, Silva said: "Let's hope. It's our goal, definitely is our goal.

"Of course, Everton wants a different one, but we want to repeat the last few results there, and the good performance and the way we won the games that were very impressive in some moments. That is the main thing for us.

"They have been achieving good results at home so far. Of course, I know that they lost their last one at home [0-3 against Tottenham Hotspur], but they have been achieving good results so far.

"The impact of the new stadium and the home games is there clearly, if you want to analyse, but it's up to us. Our recent away form has not been good enough in terms of results, and we want to change it. The next one is Everton, and it's another opportunity for us to do it."

Iwobi in midfield 'always a solution' for Fulham
Marco Silva says he never doubted Alex Iwobi would be a useful option for Fulham in central midfield.

Iwobi, who previously played under Whites boss Silva at Everton, was moved inside against Wolves, with record signing Kevin coming in on the left flank for his Premier League debut.

Iwobi was effective in the role, which came as no surprise to Silva, who said: "I bought him for Everton in 2018 or 19, and even under myself he played in the central zone – it is not something that is new.

"I understand all these questions about how people are now discovering Alex as a midfielder. But he played with me in 2018, and I think in 2023 when he was already at Fulham.

"We played him as a midfielder in some games as well. It's always a solution."

The Lagos-born Iwobi recently surpassed 300 Premier League appearances, becoming the first Nigerian to reach that milestone.

"If you look back, he played much more on the left in terms of numbers, in terms of minutes played. But he can play in the middle," Silva said.

"He cannot play in three positions in the middle because he cannot be a six, but you can play in both roles as a pocket player.

"It's not something new for me because I gave you two examples, even in Everton with me."

Fulham lineup vs. Everton: Predicted XI for Premier League clash
Fulham will once again be without left-back Antonee Robinson for Saturday's Premier League clash with Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The USA international has been sidelined since the end of September with a knee injury and head coach Marco Silva has confirmed that a fresh assessment will be made over his fitness after the international break.

On a positive note, the Cottagers recovered six players from injury for last weekend's 3-0 win over Wolves, including Joachim Andersen who is expected to continue in the back four alongside Kenny Tete, Calvin Bassey and Ryan Sessegnon, who scored the opener against the Old Gold.

Alex Iwobi impressed in a deeper midfield role alongside Sander Berge last time out and Silva will now weigh up whether to keep the former Everton man in the same position or move him further up the pitch and recall Sasa Lukic.

Should Iwobi continue in a deeper role, that would boost the chances of Harry Wilson and Kevin retaining their starting spots on the flanks, while teenage starlet Joshua King - still searching for his first Premier League goal - will hope to get the nod to start again in the number 10 role.

After returning from injury to start and play for 72 minutes against former club Wolves, Raul Jimenez is poised to keep his place up front ahead of Rodrigo Muniz. The Mexican is Fulham's top scorer in 2025 with seven Premier League goals.

Fulham possible starting lineup: Leno; Tete, Andersen, Bassey, Sessegnon; Iwobi, Berge; Wilson, King, Kevin; Jimenez

Fulham assistant coach says Marco Silva set for 'Big Six job'
Fulham assistant coach Gonçalo Santos has praised Marco Silva's leadership, describing him as one of the best Portuguese coaches today – "if not the best".

Speaking to Bola na Rede, he said Silva's arrival transformed Fulham from a "yo-yo team" into a stable, ambitious Premier League side.

"When Marco joined, Fulham were known for going up and down," Santos recalled. "He changed that. The club is now stable, and the goal every season is to compete at the highest level."

Santos pointed out that Silva's long-term approach brought steady growth. From guiding the team out of the Championship to achieving Fulham's best-ever Premier League points total last season, the manager's progress has been constant. "That record will be hard to beat," he admitted. "But our aim is always to do better than before."

He stressed that Silva's work ethic and tactical clarity have made the difference. "It's been a long process, but the club is now completely different. The project has identity, ambition and consistency."

Fulham manager one of a successful Portuguese group
Santos also reflected on the growing presence of Portuguese managers in England. At the time, four were leading top-flight clubs – Marco Silva, Rúben Amorim, Nuno Espírito Santo and Vítor Pereira. Portugal, he noted, was second only to Spain in managerial representation.

He credited José Mourinho for paving the way. "We owe him a lot," Santos said. "He opened the door for all of us in Europe. Portuguese coaches have shown they can adapt to any environment and handle all types of challenges."

The connection between them may not be daily, but it is genuine. "We always talk before and after matches," he explained. "Of course, we don't want them to win against us," he added with a laugh, "but we want all of them to succeed."

Shared vision with Marco Silva
Before joining Fulham, Santos managed Casa Pia in Portugal, but his link with Silva goes much further back. "I played for him during his first three years as a coach," he said. "Even then, everyone knew he would have a big career."

He described their current partnership as natural. "We see football in a very similar way, and we complement each other well," he said. "Being an assistant has less visibility, but it allows me to work closely with someone I trust completely."

According to Santos, that mutual understanding helps create balance within the staff. "We're aligned on everything. From training methods to match preparation," he explained. "That's what keeps the project moving forward."

A journey built on merit
Santos highlighted how Silva's path makes his achievements even more impressive. "He didn't have the profile of a famous player, so he had to prove himself," he said. "He built his career step by step, with hard work and persistence."

The Fulham assistant is confident that Silva's success will continue. "He deserves to coach a Big Six club," he concluded. "And I'm certain he'll get there. He's earned every bit of what he's achieved."

At Sandhills and Liverpool City Centre stations, a crowd flow management system, similar to ones used for other major events in the city region, will be in place to help make journeys smoother and safer.

The crowd flow system at Sandhills will be manned by extra staff and passengers will be guided onto the platforms when the trains arrive to avoid unnecessary congestion on the platforms.

To ease passenger flow, a second entrance with a pedestrian footbridge has been installed at Sandhills.

In the post-match period, when Sandhills becomes busy, some supporters may prefer to use Bank Hall, James Street or Moorfields, depending on final destination. These are 25/30 minutes' walk from the stadium.

The Old Hall Street entrance to Moorfields station will be open before and after matches.

Everton vs. Fulham: Head-to-head record and past meetings
Head-to-head record

Previous meetings: 72

Fulham wins: 24

Draws: 16

Everton wins: 32

Apart from two seasons in the early 1950s when both were in Division Two, Fulham versus Everton has strictly been a top-flight affair, after their first two meetings came in the FA Cup in 1926 and 1948, where Fulham won both in replays.

It took Everton seven matches to record their first win over the Cottagers, winning 5-1 in West London in 1950, and they went on to enjoy a very dominant record over them for the following couple of decades.

Everton contributed to Fulham's relegation from Division One in 1968, as a 5-1 thrashing at Goodison Park in the May of that season was one of the final nails in their coffin during a campaign that saw them finish bottom.

Fulham would not return to the top flight until 2001, but they have become part of the furniture since, featuring in 17 of the subsequent 23 Premier League seasons.

The Toffees were initially welcome visitors to the Cottage, because they were beaten on their first seven PL trips to West London, before a win in 2009, but after that, the tables have turned, with Everton losing just two of the following 10.

This is a fixture that became quite notorious among both sets of supporters though, given how poor Fulham's record was at Goodison Park, because the Cottagers failed to win any of their first 27 league visits - losing 22 in a row between 1961 and 2018.

In a quite astonishing turn of events, though, Fulham have not lost there since, and even won three in a row after returning to the top flight in 2020-21, before drawing 1-1 in October 2024, only being denied a fourth straight success thanks to Beto's injury-time strike.

Fulham have often had the upper hand in cup competitions too, with only one of the seven ties between the sides going against them - during the 2011-12 FA Cup.

Everton were one kick away from reaching the EFL Cup semi-finals in 2023, which would have ended a seven-year wait to reach that stage of any competition, as they led 4-3 on spot kicks heading into the fifth round of takers, but Amadou Onana's woeful penalty kept Fulham alive in the shootout, before the visitors went on to win, as Idrissa Gueye also failed from 12 yards.

Politely pointing out that you have Iwobi in midfield and also on the bench.
