Supercomputer delivers Leeds United vs Fulham prediction – home fans won't like it
Leeds United's seven-game unbeaten run in the Premier League came to an end at Newcastle United, where they lost 4-3 heartbreakingly earlier this month.

The Whites dusted themselves off, and despite making several changes to their team, they comfortably dispatched Derby in the third round of the FA Cup with a 3-1 win over the weekend.

Leeds will now turn their attention towards the Premier League game against Fulham at Elland Road on Saturday. They will hope to start another run of positive results at home this weekend.

However, Opta's predictions for the game at Elland Road will leave Leeds fans underwhelmed, who should be more confident about getting a good result at home against the Cottagers.

Opta's Leeds United vs Fulham prediction will shock the home fans
Leeds sit 16th in the Premier League table, and have managed to build an eight-point lead over West Ham, who occupy the last relegation spot in the Premier League table.

The Whites have looked good against more established sides in the Premier League, and had the referee shown more common sense, they could have left Newcastle with a win.

Fulham are ninth in the table, and did beat Leeds at Craven Cottage earlier in the season via a late Gabriel Gudmundsson own goal.

However, Leeds have more than stood up against top-half teams in the league this season, especially at home, but Opta's predictions do not reflect that reality.

Opta has only given Leeds a less than 37 per cent chance of beating Fulham at Elland Road on Saturday, while the away side also have similar odds of winning this weekend.

The predictions have given more than a 25 per cent chance of the two teams sharing the points with a draw in West Yorkshire on Saturday afternoon.

Leeds fans have reasons to feel baffled by the predictions
Leeds have often looked imperious at home, and teams such as Liverpool have found it hard to play at Elland Road this season. In fact, Chelsea suffered a 3-1 defeat against Leeds in West Yorkshire.

The home form was always going to be a huge factor for Leeds, and a wobbly run. The Whites have turned their home form around and have got better on the road.

Manchester United had to work hard to leave Elland Road with a point in Leeds' last home game, so fans have reasons to believe that they can beat Fulham.

However, the less than 37 per cent chance of a home win prediction will be baffling for Leeds fans, who may think their side have more than a decent chance of getting all three points on Saturday.

Fulham's away form makes the prediction even more confusing, as they have been distinctly average on the road in the Premier League this season.

Despite what Opta has predicted, Leeds will back themselves to beat Fulham and further widen the gap with the relegation zone this weekend.

Sunderland and Fulham 'seriously interested' in midfielder transfer – Meeting soon
According to a claim in the Turkish media, Fulham and Sunderland are still showing serious interest in Galatasaray midfielder Gabriel Sara.

The 26-year-old has been linked with the Premier League sides in the past week, along with Everton. We covered claims that all three English clubs were monitoring the situation. His Gala future looks uncertain, and there's been rumours of an England move since the summer.

This month has seen reports in Turkey that Galatasaray are looking to replace the former Norwich City man.

Manchester United's Manuel Ugarte could be a possible option, and there's been claims he's agreed personal terms with the Super Lig leaders. His Old Trafford teammate Kobbie Mainoo has also been linked, although that looks even less likely.

Sunderland and Fulham are 'seriously interested'
Yakup Çınar has said via Forza Cimbom, that Sunderland and Fulham remain 'seriously interested' in signing Sara this month. The journalist went on to say the player's agent will soon sit down with Galatasaray's hierarchy to discuss his client's future.

Last week it was reported the Super Lig leaders are looking for offers over €20m. They paid Norwich City €18m in 2004, so would get a small profit. However, with Galatasaray still to play their remaining two Champions League group stage games, they'd prefer to sell at the end of the window.

Leeds United, Nottingham Forest Manchester City have also been linked with Sara in the past six months. During the summer window all three were monitoring his situation, but no concrete effort was made to sign him.

Sara has made 26 appearances this season, scoring two goals. The Brazilian started Sunday's Super Cup final defeat against Fenerbahçe on the bench, but came on at half time.

The Turkish media keep pushing a potential exit, suggesting Gala themselves are keen.

He's contracted to Galatasaray until June 2029.

Fulham dealt triple blow involving Alex Iwobi ahead of Premier League clash vs Leeds United
However, the Cottagers could have two other players who could return - but not long-term absentee Rodrigo Muniz

Fulham will travel to Leeds United on Saturday without three of their key players after Nigeria made it through to the semi-final of the African Cup of Nations.

Centre-back Calvin Bassey, midfielder Alex Iwobi and winger Samuel Chukwueze will not return to the Cottagers this week after their nation beat Algeria 2-0 over the weekend to set up their last-four bout with hosts Morocco on Wednesday.

Nigeria's progression to the semi-finals means their players will not be returning to club action until next week even if they lose, with a third-place play-off scheduled for Saturday.

Between them, Bassey, Iwobi and Chukwueze have started 34 Premier League games this campaign, accounting for five goals and six assists. All the while, Leeds summer target Rodrigo Muniz remains out injured.

The forward required surgery on his hamstring back in November and is not due back until late February. The absences of these four players have not impacted Marco Silva's team much when it comes to results.

This weekend's 3-1 win over Middlesbrough stretched their unbeaten run to six games across all competitions, which included a 2-2 draw with Liverpool and a 2-1 victory over Chelsea.

Fulham - sitting ninth in the Premier League table - could welcome back Joshua King and Kenny Tete this weekend if recovery goes to plan, too.

Leeds have two injury concerns following Sunday's 3-1 FA Cup win at Derby County, in which Sean Longstaff and Sam Byram shook off injury to get their first minutes for some time.

However, Sebastiaan Bornauw had to be taken off at the break due to a suspected adductor problem, though Daniel Farke does not think the issue is anything serious. Daniel James is still sidelined with his hamstring problem and is not due to return to training until later this month.

Celebration Day 2026: Fulham v Everton
Fulham Football Club is honoured to announce that our home fixture against Everton on Saturday 7th February will mark our fifth annual Celebration Day, held in partnership with the Fulham Supporters' Trust (FST).

Celebration Day is a moment for the entire Fulham family — supporters, players, and staff — to come together in remembrance. It allows us to honour the lives of our loyal supporters and all those connected to the Club who sadly passed away in 2025, and to reflect on the passion, commitment, and memories they shared with Fulham Football Club. Their support, whether lifelong or newly found, remains part of us.

Supporters are invited to submit the names of relatives, friends, and loved ones, which will be displayed on screens around Craven Cottage ahead of kick-off, ensuring their memory is shared and respected within our home.

A special inside front cover of the matchday programme will also be produced, offering supporters the opportunity to include a small photograph of a loved one as a lasting tribute.

Chair of the Fulham Supporters' Trust, Simon Duke, said: "The 2026 Celebration Day gives us the opportunity to remember members of the Fulham family we have lost over the past year. It is a time to honour their loyalty, share memories, recognise individual contributions, and extend our deepest sympathies to those they leave behind. The Trust is extremely proud to continue this tradition alongside the Club."

Fulham Club Director David Daly added: "Celebration Day holds a special place in our calendar. For the fifth time, we will come together to remember supporters and members of the Fulham family who passed away in 2025. These individuals carried Fulham Football Club in their hearts, and this day allows us to honour their loyalty, their stories, and the lasting connection they shared with our Club."

Supporters wishing to have friends or relatives remembered at this year's Celebration Day are invited to submit names and images to [email protected], by 12pm on Monday 26th January.

Images should be supplied in the highest possible quality. Accepted file formats are JPEG, PNG, PDF, or TIFF. Please ensure that the subject of each image is clearly identified or described in the body of your email.

Fulham's deadliest penalty takers of the 21st Century
With Raul having the Midas touch from 12 yards, what other men in white have been adept at penalties?

Raul Jimenez's penalty against Nottingham Forest before Christmas was his sixth goal from the spot in all competitions for Fulham. He famously has a 100% record from 12 yards (in the Premier League, at least), and we're reaping the benefits (when we actually get awarded penalties!).

We've got a chequered past when it comes to pens, but there have been a handful of men this century who have put a fair few away for us since the turn of the century. Here they are, for your enjoyment.

Danny Murphy (Scored: 19. Missed: 1. Sucess rate: 95%)
Ask any long-term fan who our best modern penalty taker is and they'd name this man.

Danny scored penalties in the Premier League, the FA Cup, and in Europa League qualifying. He just never seemed to miss - except that one time he did. The game? our 3-2 win at Manchester City during the great escape, when he bundled in the rebound anyway.

Interestingly, Murphy rarely had the chance to take penalties at Liverpool - but when he did, he scored. He bagged two in the Premier League and two in the FA Cup for the Reds. Also interestingly, he wasn't on the pitch for either one of our two penalties in the Europa league proper. Kamara scored in our 2-1 defeat to Roma, and - famously - Zoltan Gera scored against Juventus.

Louis Saha (Scored: 15. Missed 0. Success rate: 100%)
This is another unsurprising inclusion, as Saha is arguably our greatest striker of this century (more on his rival to that title later).

It's also not surprising that 10 of his 15 successful penalties were scored in the First Division, when he bagged 27 as part of his all-conquering 2000/01 campaign.

He would equal his five Premier League penalties for Fulham at Manchester United, having uncerimoniously dumped us for them during the 2003/04 season. Honestly, I'm not bitter.

Steed Malbranque (Scored 11. Missed 2. Success rate: 84.6%)
Steeeed!

The fact our diminutive French attacker is on this list despite playing second fiddle to King Louis when it came to spot-kick duties, is testament to him and his ice-cold nerves.

Malbranque bagged goals from the spot in the Premier League, both domestic cup competitions and in the old UEFA Cup (against Hadjuk Split). Of his two misses, one was inconsequential in a 3-1 win over Portsmouth, but the one that'd stick in his craw would be a 71st-minute miss against Manchester United with the scores 1-1. We still bagged a point, but a goal would've sealed our first Premier League win against the Red Devils.

Ross McCormack (Scored: 8. Missed: 0. Success rate: 100%)
Ah, Ross. The man who kept us afloat in the second tier when we couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery.

Such was his potency for the Whites, it feels natural that the Scot had a flawless penalty record, but his career success rate is actually 84.6% - he missed 11 overall, from 43 attempts.

Perhaps surprisingly, given how terrible we were at the time, was when McCormack scored a penalty we either won or drew - except on one occasion. That was - typically - a 4-1 home defeat to Brentford. Awful days.

Dimitar Berbatov (Scored 6. Missed: 0. Success rate: 100%)
Even if the club was sleepwalking to disaster, Berba was pure class in his short stay - "keep calm and let me take the pen".

All his penalties bagged us points, bar one - a 4-1 defeat to Everton. Interestingly, he scored more goals for Fulham than any other club in his career - and he never scored one for Bayer Leverkusen. He missed all three of his attempts for the German club. Class may be permanent, but evidently it takes time to develop.

A note on Aleksander Mitrovic
Here's how we find out who in the comments has read to the end and who hasn't.

"Where's Mitro?", I hear you cry. Aleksander scored 16 of his 24 penalties for Fulham, across the Premier League, Championship and cup competitions. That's a success rate of 66.6%.

The historic success rate in the Premier League is 78%, which I can only imagine is higher in the Championship, where the quality of goalkeeping would be objectively worse. So, for me (Clive), Mitro's rate just isn't high enough to be considered deadly. He' also taken the most penalties for Fulham this century (so far), so although he only scored three fewer than Danny Murphy, he took four more.

Sorry, Mitro. You were exceptional in open play, though.

Daniel Farke should start £43k a week ace against Fulham after impressive performance against Derby – fans will agree
Leeds United recorded a big win this weekend when they beat Derby County in the FA Cup.

The build up to the game was a bit chippy between the two sides; they have had history since the Championship play-off final. Before the game, Rams boss John Eustace tried to play mind games by saying that the Whites were the better team because they spent more money.

The game on Sunday was evenly matched in the opening period; the home side took the lead thanks to Brereton Diaz. Derby went into half time with a 1-0 lead which made the away fans a bit nervous.

Lukas Nmecha impressed in Leeds United win
The second half saw Farke's side mount a comeback; they managed to score three goals in the second period to kill off the game. What made the win more impressive was the fact that the team had rested a couple of players.

Daniel Farke gave a chance to some of the Leeds United fringe players on Sunday: James Justin, Ilia Gruev and Lukas Nmecha all featured. The game was a chance to rest key players while testing the current options off the bench.

Some delivered while others did not make the best of their time on the pitch. Nmecha was outstanding against Derby; he was physical, made his presence known throughout the game and had some nice link up play in attack.

Daniel Farke should take notice
Nmecha had a very good run in the team a few months back. When Dominic Calvert-Lewin was struggling, Farke benched him for the German. That run saw him find the net in some games.

When the system shifted to the 3-5-2, he and the England striker formed a serious partnership. Their second half performance against Manchester City might be the best football Leeds have played recently.

Nmecha was out with injury and lost his spot in the team, but Sunday showed that he should ideally be the second striker in the formation. He just manages to be a good strike partner no matter who he is matched up with – he and Joel Piroe were lovely to watch against Derby.

Daniel Farke had a huge decision to make in the coming games; Brenden Aaronson has been in good form and Noah Okafor although inconsistent, is useful with his pace up top.

Fulham loanee Works out
Yeovil Town have added Fulham attacker Terrell Works to the ranks after he signed on loan from the Premier League outfit for the rest of the season.

The 21-year-old has already played in the National League Premier Division this season during a loan spell at Braintree Town in the first half of the season, scoring four goals in 15 appearances including both goals in a 3-2 defeat to York City on debut.

His arrival follows the signings of Cardiff City midfielder Trey Perrett who joined on loan on Monday and the permanent signing of Crawley Town defender Joy Mukena.

Glovers' manager Billy Rowley, who had two years as a coach in Fulham's academy until 2015, said: "Terrell is an exciting young attacking player with real versatility. He's direct, creative, and has already shown he can be effective at senior level. This loan will be an important step in his development, and we're pleased to welcome him to the club."

In the same statement announcing the arrival on Tuesday night, Works added: "I'm really pleased to be joining Yeovil Town. It's a great opportunity for me to play senior football regularly and continue my development. I'm looking forward to getting started and contributing to the team."

The new arrival has been in the youth set-up at Craven Cottage since and early age and the club's profile of his describes him as: "An attacking player who is very adaptable and can play in a number of different positions including right-wing, left-wing, centre-forward and number 10. He enjoys taking people on, creating chances and can finish with both feet."

Having started in the Under-9s at Fulham, he has worked his way up to the club's Under-21s where he claimed 20 goals and assists in two seasons, including two assists in the Premier League Cup Final win over Tottenham in 2024.
