Ah no.  He is a very good footballer who we never really gave a chance to. Can't blame him for wanting a move.

Good luck to him if it is true, but also sorry to see the guy go.

bog

Sorry to see him go. Good luck Jorge.

Citizen Smith

Let´s hope this is not the start of a slippery slope. We don´t want to be losing our better players and what with the high possibility of injuries, suspensions and loss of form, I´m sure Jorge would feature quite a bit over the forthcoming season.

demeant0r

I'm only good with this if we sold him for a profit

bencher

I like Cuenca, will be unhappy with his departure.

Bought for 5.7M selling for almost 13M

roberto w6

Surprised he's going with Silva who clearly rated him as number 4 out of 4 central defenders.

Also disappointed to see him go. I rated him and wish he'd had more game time

Jock White

Shame if he does go but too good a player to be warming the bench every week.
Good luck to him, don't think he ever put a foot wrong when he did play.

That's more than double. I suppose that's fine because as long as Bassey is playing well, Cuenca won't get much chance to get starts

Agreed. Odd Marco takes him when he hardly gave him a chance with us and he wasn't a starter. Perhaps he thinks Portugal will suit Cuencas style more?

Worrying if the club are signing off on sales without a manager or alternatives coming in?

Appreciate things change, but the khan's really need to properly manage this transition. They're not good at it historically and need to do better with proper planning (based on transfer windows and going up and doing the leagues multiple times over five years!).

I don't want to see him go because he is a real asset, but you can't argue with the finances if true.

Thats at least 11 or 12 million in profit off a backup player. Could see the same scenario happen with Diop.

We won't make a profit on Diop sadly I wouldn't think- 1 year left on contract, significantly older than Cuenca  and we bought him for around 15m and I'd think we would be very lucky to get that for him now. He may well go for a 10m+ offer though

Jules

Please Silva take Andersen with you instead?

Canadian boy Luc may get his chance now

He's mostly an RCB given he's naturally right footed so less likely to be utilised as the Bassey backup you'd think.

It's more Sam Amissahs side than it is Luc's but his contract is up and being touted by Arsenal

Anything over 3 to 4 million would be profit. The exact number who knows since I'm not the club accountant.

I wouldn't expect 15 million either, but 10 or so million seems more than reasonable for a player of his level. It is still a nice amount for your backup players and would add a good amount of profit for the transfer accounts.

I'd rather we try not to weaken the squad before we even have a manager in place.

As said before at 5ft11ins he's too small for thar role given Arsenal's tactics at set pieces
