Everton shorten as relegation betting market hots upEverton are now 14/1, as odds also come in for Blackpool and West Brom

EVERTON HAVE been cut to 14/1 (from 16/1) for relegation this season by Ladbrokes.

Following an away defeat at the hands of Bolton, David Moyes' men have been trimmed for the drop in a congested Premier League relegation market housing three odds-on chances in the shape of Wigan (1/2), West Ham (4/7) and Wolverhampton Wanderers (4/6). Blackpool are also nudged to 5/4 from (6/4) with West Brom another side to come in for some support (6/4 from 13/8)

At the other end of the table Manchester United harden to 1/2 for the title leaving the Premier League looking like a two-horse race with Arsenal moving into 9/4 (from 5/2) and pulling away from Chelsea at 10/1 who are in action in Monday night's live game.

It's 4/5 Chelsea beat their West London rivals at Craven Cottage with 5/2 the price about the draw. Fulham are 7/2 to win the match and Moussa Dembele, Clint Dempsey and Bobby Zamora are the home side's best chances of netting first as they all earn 9/1 quotes for the first goal. Didier Drogba and Fernando Torres are the joint 4/1 favourites in that market with 20/1 the price about a Torres hat-trick.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: "Despite the relegation market housing three odds-on favourites there are several teams who are far from safe with the prices reflecting that. United and Arsenal are out on their own at the head of the title market and should Chelsea fail to win on Monday their price for the league will start to resemble that of Manchester City more than Arsenal."

Fulham's £5 ticket offer to charter standard clubs

10:04am Monday 14th February 2011

Surrey FA has teamed up with Fulham FC to offer FA Charter Standard clubs the chance to watch the Premier League clash with Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, March 5, for just £5 each.

The club that sells most tickets to the Fulham v Blackburn game will be invited to take part in a coaching session at Fulham's training ground with one of the academy coaches.

And, for every 10 junior tickets sold, Fulham will provide an adult ticket completely free.

Clubs that are not yet charter standard can contact the Surrey FA to start the process with many benefits available once a club is recognised as an FA Charter Standard Club.

To apply for tickets, clubs need to fill out the details on a form provided by the Surrey County FA together with a cheque made payable to Fulham FC.

For more details on achieving FA Charter Standard status contact Steven Edwards at the Surrey County FA on 01372 384749 or email [email protected].

Fulham face competition from Italy for Swedish star

By talkSPORT

Monday, February 14

Fulham are facing competition from Italy's Serie A for the services of Swedish international Behrang Safari.

The Cottagers have been linked with the defender for several months, but reports in Italy claim Palermo and Sampdoria have now expressed an interest in the Iranian-born full-back.

Safari's current club, FC Basel, are resigned to losing him, but will only sell for the right price, which is reported to be around £2m.

John Pantsil faces Fulham axe

By Paul Warburton

Feb 14 2011

JOHN Pantsil could be a due for another long spell on the sidelines – despite a fans' campaign to keep him at Fulham.

The supporters' favourite has yet to open new contract negotiations on a deal that runs out in the summer, and boss Mark Hughes admitted the Ghanaian World Cup player has been affected by his third own goal of the season at Aston Villa last week.

The unwanted gaffe equals a dubious Premiership record set by Andreas Jakobsson at Southampton five years ago for scoring at the wrong end.

Hughes said: "It's affected him confidence wise. There have been similar situations where he has not dealt with things as well as he could.

"And we'll look at the games ahead of us and make sure John and everyone is in the best frame of mind."

The manager has options, not least of which is that Chris Baird moves across to his favoured right side of defence and returns Carlos Salcido to the left, which ended up being the permutation that secured a 2-2 draw at Villa.

The manager added: "There's a lot of players we can move around who play in a number of positions – and with players coming back from injury I have options."
