I have to say, I kind of get the locals frustration. Why can't the park be advertising free. It'd be surprising if adverts in the park made that much of a difference.

Have to say I hate all advertising especially street furniture ads and ads on roundabouts.
Restrict it to the high street and media where it belongs.

I don't mind them in the street, after all there are all sorts of signs there, but I confess I am not a fan of them in Bishops Park, even if they are Fulham ones!!

Anything that involves Fulham FC will be objected to by some of the locals.

Thing that boils my ****, is that many of them moved into the area knowing full well that there was a football ground there and then constantly object to anything to do with it. If a football ground on your doorstep is an inconvenience, don't move into an area with one.

The ground is 130 years old so statistically speaking, the majority of the surrounding houses should be younger than the ground. I don't understand why, if you didn't inherit the house, you would purchase a house around the stadium if you're not a Fulham fan or at least can tolerate Fulham activities around you.

Because it's a highly lucrative area, I live Ellerby street and have been here 43 years, the first thing we done was look around to see what's around. I had a heated discussion with a chap across the road, in fact he is a judge, and his wife is the most snobbish person I have ever met, there argument was that the club should not have been built in the first place, it was so difficult for me to keep my temper as they were being really rude, in the end I just walked away. To top it off the joker backed into my car, and then tried to say it was my fault for being there, fortunately I had a couple of witnesses, the repair cost £400, and he didn't want it on his insurance so he paid me cash.

I believe all the houses around the Cottage and beyond were built by a property company owned by Henry Norris (a director and then chairman of FFC) and WG Allen.

TBF if there was one on footpath right outside my house and it blocked the view or sunlight from a window I would be annoyed. along the park that's another matter.  It's a way for the council to make some some dough...

Lol that's such an idiotic view. Maybe they should invent the time machine and get Fulham to accept the Chelsea merger. That's the only scenario in which Craven Cottage would not have existed  :slap:

None of those people are older than the ground. They all chose to live there, knowing the stadium existed.

I bloody hate it when people choose to live near things and then complain about those exact same things.

If you don't want to be around football stuff, don't live next to a football stadium!  ::wine::

I have the same problem with Americans getting into our football and wanting to change everything that has worked well for 150 years or so.
Co-Commentators on WC coverage: Outside Backs, End line, 18 yard line, frame (for the goal) roster, locker room etc., etc.,
Please stick with Association Football as is and don't Americanise the beautiful game we don't need it or want it.  Rant over.
