An oddly intriguing final, not a bad watch in a dark, moody thriller kind of way.

A Better game than than the boring finals of 2010 and 1994.

I can't believe how much Argentina were being allowed to get away with, and the longer it went on the more it felt like they would sneak a win, i was really surprised when Spain finally scored.

I kept half any eye on Messi just waking around for 2 hours, he had a few moments, but was really very very quiet.

I mostly enjoyed the tournament and it was the most grandiose ever, but not the best IMO. The Qatar WC was better refereed. The final ref from Slovenia gave too many "dives" something Infantino was trying to reduce. One cannot admire Argentina's good football when they use so many foul tactics in their desire to win by any means.

England flopped due to the manager leaving out half the core of the squad for no apparent reason, had he included them I believe England would be in the final. They showed there is no "gap" that Tuchel likes to give himself excuses for his failure, by winning the 3rd/4th place playoff, but a new English manager would be no worse than "touchy" Tuchel in my view. Tuchel makes too many arrogant team choices that harm England, Gary Lineker even called him a German spy...

There were many great moments and some crazy referee and VAR decisions that let the tournament down. But I generally liked it despite the advertising breaks, early hour matches, poor studio analysis and occasional naff commentators on the UK side.

How were Argentina allowed to get away with constant fouls since the start of the tournament? Were VAR told not to intervene unless it gave Argentina an advantage? Refs turned a blind eye to their disgusting challenges! I swear theyd have had several players sent off every match in the PL! Now I'm hearing that "they're a physical team", so if you have a team of thugs, are they allowed to just going around kicking and body slamming people without a caution?
