Team in vs Crystal Palace

Carborundum

Palace in general and Wharton in particular have a nasty habit of carving through our midfield. Presenting them with a new Shea Charles shaped problem to solve  seems thoroughly sensible.  Looking forward to seeing how it goes.

Carborundum

There's a ball boy indulging himself on the pitch here.... Oh hang on I think it might be Angel.

Somerset Fulham

I know he looked good against Wimbledon but people need to calm down a bit about Zepa, I think.  It was one game against a tired side from the bottom of League One.   Hopefully a bright future awaits him but I would be surprised if he made the first team this season.

On further reflection I suppose Iwobi makes sense, the new guys haven't been here a week and need a bit of time.

Karlos

Great to see Charles starting but am bit concerned to see Iwobi next to him and Palacios on the left again

Hoping im wrong as seems very obvious when the concensus seems to be Iwobi better on the left and its still too soon for Palacios.

No Tete in the squad isnt great either as dont think it worked with Sess as a RB

Fulham 1879

Lot of moaning about Palacios and love child comments but has Bobb done any better and he cost more than three times more? The jury is out but, if I was forced to have a bet on the next two years, I'd back Palacios to have a better Fulham career. Obviously, I'd rather they both did, starting today.

Sgt Fulham

Look forward to 10 minutes of Kevin again, to be dropped to the bench next game for not immediately scoring. If this is his role then why didnt we just sell him to Roma for €50m??

I dont care that he hasn't particularly flourished. Hes barely had any consistent game time and he's entertaining at least. Instead we get the undroppable Palacios.

Not related to this match but Aaron Loupalo-Bi scored what i think is his first senior goal today for Fleetwood.

You sure it wasn't King?

Moussa Dembele the 3rd

Bobb plays defense and is positionally sound. Palacios wanders around the pitch and has no awareness of his teammates other than Garcia.

Not dropping Palacios doesn't make him undroppable. There's only been 3 games including today's. It's called being given a fair chance to adapt to the league and prove yourself.

I understand the sentiment of it was only Wimbledon but pace, power and - direct attacking/take the full back on mentality can be a threat at any level.

And Zepa displayed a confidence, even arrogance, that Bobb to date has lacked.

Thats fair. Ive just been very underwhelmed with Palacios and dont expect improvement quickly enough. Hes a long term project from what I can see. I'd like Kevin to be given the chance instead because I think his contributions could be a lot more immediate.

Surprised Tete not in the team.  Hope Castagne can play game without picking up a knock.  If he does, not sure who covers for him?

I agree with the poster above who pointed out that Bobb is a lot more disciplined tactically without the ball.

Additionally, we don't have a natural RW as competition for Oscar, whilst we have Kevin, Iwobi & ESR who can all play off the left

Iwobi's career stats shows he's scored far more goals on the right than any other position.

Unfortunately, Zepa is not on the bench.

That is most unfortunate
Its not the man in the fight, it's the fight in the man.  🐘

Never forget your Roots.

This dude is going to ride or die with Palacios out wide.

I'm going to trust his judgement (until I don't)

Crystal Palace look like a team of track stars.

Thomas Toucoue in the house.

Might not have trained much this week after transfer fiasco.
