Sunderland have a terrific home record and just got a draw away at Brentford.
The last time we beat Crystal Palace the Queen was a picture of health.

All this cobblers about sacking the manager can only be coming from people who are plastic supporters who know nothing about football, it's doing my head in.
I have put my head above the parapet and said that unless Arbeloa changes his tactics, we have to get rid of him. I am not a plastic supporter but a supporter of 52 years going to virtually all home matches.

Read the Fulhamish article on today's Daily Fulham Stuff says it all. I could accept the three results but without a change of style, we are doomed.

By the way I don't boo our team and I don't call for managers' heads normally.

Quote from: Woolly Mammoth on September 08, 2026, 03:27:38 PMWho exactly were the fans booing, one particular player, or the team performance, or the result, or was it not any players at all just the manager.
Or was it the combination of everything that went wrong on the day.

It was actually the tea lady. Due to a cut in the tea budget she has had to make a single bag make do for up to 4 cups now, and the fans felt (or tasted) the change with their half time cuppa.

That's all, nothing to do with the manager, coaching staff, players, groundman, ball-persons, or officials at all.
Nothing to see here.
Logical is just in the name - don't expect it has anything to do with my thought process, because I AM the man who sold the world.

Quote from: Baszab on September 08, 2026, 08:45:20 AMAA has this fearful reputation of upsetting players

I've read that many times, so I looked into it a bit more.
He really doesn't have a reputation at all, if you look into his time at Real Madrid, he was healing the rift that Alonso had caused with his players- especially the big egos.

There was a falling out between two players that had an altercation at training ground, what club doesnt?

If he was bad to play for I doubt Palacios, Garcia and Angel would have moved country to play for him, when (in Garcia's case at least) there were loads of offers.

Well, not Fulham, obviously. Bullard fell against a goal post at MP in 2008, while Mitro-AK47 was just a playful episode, no malice at all, and there was never a police report on any incident involving any Fulham player, ever!

So you get rid of AA and who comes in and how long do you give the new manager time to make a difference before your are calling for his head?

Anyone who doesn't set the team up to concede anytime we lose the ball. Pushing 7 players foward with only two centerbacks and one holding midfielder to stop counterattacks all by themselves is unsustainable. If Arbeloa doesn't adapt his tactics there is no way we survive in this league, so at that point I guess it doesn't really matter.

Good point.  And what of the RM lads, wandering around scratching their heads wondering what the he!! they're doing in West London?

v

Exactly.

If he does not adapt his tactics so we're harder to play against and less likely to concede, the decision will be out of his hands.

It's the Khans who ultimately decide.

I would imagine that given they have worked with AA before they know exactly how he plays and what they are doing in west London. Give it time and the rest of the team will be on the same page.

Who cares. We can loan them back to Madrid. I'd rather Fulham be in the Premier Laegue next year.

You clearly don't get it. We are unable to be successful with Arbeloa's tactics. I would happily keep an attacking stance with him but he needs to be more balanced and say just have one fullback forward at any one time.

I would genuinely prefer to have Parker in charge than someone with suicidal and chaotic tactics.

I have said that if he could get these tactics to work then our football would be incredible. However these tactics are doomed to fail. Let me know when you agree.

If the dross continues into November and we are getting cut adrift in the bottom three AA has to be kicked out.

Look at the last two seasons... the team who has been rooted to the bottom like Wolves were had no chance to survive.

We got relegated under Parker so not a really a good example of a manger who you would like in we are 3 games in with a new manager new tactics and new players who are young talented and there could be 2/3 with huge potential. King is clearly enjoying the new style but yes we have to change what is happening at the back but I don't think getting rid of AA so soon and bringing in a new manager who will then have a different style of play and will need some time to get the players working his way is needed at this moment in time.

And you can predict this after just 4 games? Just needs some tweaks and personnel changes IMO.

wback100

Way too early to draw any conclusions. The promoted teams look limited, one or two others will also struggle as the season goes on, and what we need to do to improve is so absolutely clear. 7 games and no wins is the cut off.

Hatch007

We have the squad to succeed; it's the tactics that could ruin us.

If AA demonstrates some pragmatism we should be absolutely fine but from what we've seen on the pitch and, more pertinently, what AA is saying in interviews, I'm not convinced he has the mindset to change tactics.

If he doesn't, we will massively struggle because our tactics thus far, whilst hugely entertaining going forward, are not conducive to PL survival.

ArcticOctopus

Looking back through Crystal Palace's highlights, none of their goals were on the break with our fullbacks on the opponents touchline. There was at least 2 CBs, one of our FBs and Shea Charles back for each goal. At least one goal was caused by Leno's indecision and we were lucky to have another one ruled offsides.

For Sunderland their lone goal was on a break with Joa, Bassey and Castange tracking back and arguably Leno should have been more decisive in closing down.

Chelsea's first goal I don't think you can call a counterattack. It was just terrible defending. Their second goal, also not a counterattack, also Leno's indecisiveness played heavily in it. Their 3rd goal was sort of a counterattack but we still had 3 defenders to their 2.

Overall, I just don't think the goals we've conceded match the narrative that we're repeatedly getting exposed in the counterattack. It's individual lapses in judgement as much as anything.
