Fulham, West Ham watching Watford record breaker Graham

16.03.11 | tribalfootball.com

Premier League clubs are circling Watford for striker Danny Graham.

The likes of Fulham, West Ham United and Blackpool are keeping tabs on the 23-goal star.

Graham, 25, is now closing in on Luther Blissett's 28-goal club record dating back to 1985 and manager Malky Mackay is rightly proud of his £200,000 signing from Carlisle.

"I'm delighted for Danny with the work he puts in," Mackay said. "He's not a poacher - he's a hard working centre-forward who causes problems for defences with his ability and running.

"He has that ability to get a yard away from centre-backs and deserves everything he gets."

Fulham striker Diomansy Kamara set to join Leicester City on loan until the end of the season - report

15 Mar 2011 16:55:00

Leicester City manager Sven Goran Eriksson is set to sign Fulham striker Diomansy Kamara on loan until the end of the season, according to reports

Having made only 11 appearances for Mark Hughes' side this season, the Foxes' manager is ready to offer Kamara first-team football with the Championship side.

Eriksson is in talks with the club's owners, according to the Daily Mail, about Kamara's £24,000 per-week wages as the Swede attempts to take Leicester into the Premier League.

Eriksson initially wouldn't be drawn on who he hoped to sign, but he confirmed to BBC Radio Leicester on Tuesday that they were in talks with a "big" player: "We have to take some important decisions regarding that."

Leicester sit ninth in the table, currently five points away from a place in the play-offs, following a 3-0 away victory at Scunthorpe on Saturday.

American soccer fans to tune in for Everton clash with Fulham

16.03.11 | tribalfootball.com

American soccer fans are eager about seeing Tim Howard's Everton face Clint Dempsey's Fulham this weekend.

US football expert Beau Dure expects a bigger than usual TV audience for the game.

He told evertonfc.com: "US fans have had a rollercoaster ride with Howard. Few expected him to become a starter at Manchester United so soon after he signed, everyone fretted when he lost his place and everyone has been relieved he has been so successful at Everton.

"For a while Dempsey was playing better for his club than his country, but he has had excellent moments for both. He is considered a rare talent in the USA, a much more creative talent than most American players."

Sought After £12M Star Hails Liverpool As 'A Dream Club'

Some transfers just seem to be nailed on, maybe not where the player moves too, but just the fact that the player will go somewhere.

When you have both player and agent claiming that there is a move on the cards it is normally not too far away, and to be fair in the case of Papiss Demba Cisse it seems about time he was moving on to bigger things, the Senegalese striker has been prolific in Germany for the past 15months and he has almost carried his team, Freiburg.  Well despite numerous clubs both in England and further afield being interested it appears that the players dream move would be to Liverpool.

Cisse has played in Europe for a while predominantly in France, he signed his first professional contract with Metz in 2005 at the age of 19, he was initially loaned to AS Cherbourg to gain experience before returning to play for Metz for 2 seasons where he was pretty successful.

When his side were relegated he spent another season out on loan before returning to his parent club for two more years and in that time he scored 24 in 57 games, and it was this form that got him a move to Bundesliga side SC Freiburg.

His form in a better team has been devastating, in his first season in the German top flight Cisse managed an impressive 6 goals in 16 games and he has been even more prolific this time around notching up 18 goals in 23 games so far this season.

Cisse is 6'0 and pretty useful in the air, he is quick and has a good finish too.  He works hard and takes up good positions in the penalty area, he is purely a striker and a goal scorer.  He has never played anywhere else and is essentially a poacher, but an extremely prolific one at that.  As well as being successful domestically he has also scored goals at international level, managing 7 goals in 8 appearances for Senegal.

There were strong rumours last Summer linking him with a move to Arsenal, and in January there were approaches from Fulham, Wolfsburg, Juventus, Villareal and Genoa – offers were thought to be around £10million but none of them ever came to anything.  Well in recent times 2 quotes have surfaced firstly from his agent, who has said:

"Freiburg do not want to sell, but they are a smaller club and will sell at the right price....They know the figure they want for him – but I cannot say it....They are ready to do business in the summer. But it isn't just Premier League clubs who want him – there are clubs in Italy and Spain, too."

The same reports claims that the price Freiburg would be willing to sell for is around £12million which really doesn't seem too much when you consider his impressive scoring record in Germany.  The player however also has his own opinions and he has issued a come and get me plea to Liverpool, it is a good job they were one of the teams already interested! He has said:

"Liverpool is a dream club. Salif Diao and El Hadji Diouf have played there. But to be honest I am happy here at the moment....But you never know in football. Things can develop quickly."

So Liverpool would be his dream club.....but because of Diouf and Salif Diao? Well hopefully for Liverpool fans if Kenny Dalglish does follow up his interest with an offer this Summer he will be a lot more successful for the club than the 2 former Senegalese internationals that the Merseyside club have employed.

Liverpool will face firm competition from Arsenal, Fulham and other clubs around Europe but should the player remain true to his words then he could be part of the Merseyside set up very soon.

Relishing the Challenge

Tuesday 15th March 2011

A rare weekend without football will be followed by a trip to Goodison Park on Saturday for Mark Hughes' Team and their loyal followers. Whilst an extended break between fixtures has allowed Hughes' players to fully recover from their winning exploits against Blackburn Rovers, defender Brede Hangeland would clearly prefer to have been playing back-to-back matches.

"Obviously we would have preferred to have been playing in the FA Cup last weekend, but as things were, it was nice to have a weekend off," Brede told fulhamfc.com. "I think it was the first time in my time at the Club.

"It's good in the sense that we recover fully but we want to be playing as many games as last year because it means you're in a lot of competitions, but hopefully this break will enable us to be fully fit for the League games and do well."

Hangeland could be up against former Fulham striker Louis Saha on Saturday evening and the Norwegian international is clearly looking forward to playing at Goodison Park, where Fulham will be hoping to build on some impressive away performances in recent seasons.

"He's [Saha] a good player but then again there's always a good striker on the opposition team when you play in the Premier League so we'll be doing our best as always and we'll see what happens.

Goodison Park is a great place to go and play and there's always a good atmosphere. We've been quite close to winning a game up there in recent years so hopefully we can do that on Saturday.

"I don't really look at the League table that much but we know it's very tight and any points we can get in the bank on Saturday will help us a lot."

Fulham keeper Stockdale proves himself very decent bloke

15.03.11 | tribalfootball.com

Fulham goalkeeper David Stockdale has proved himself a decent bloke.

The People says the England prospect went beyond the call of duty to help a college kid from Leicester who is doing a football documentary as part of a degree course.

Fulham's keeper agreed to an interview, but when the student travelled down to the training ground, he found his microphone didn't work.

Then a second attempt ahead of Fulham's match with Blackburn had to be abandoned because of background noise.

In the end Stockdale agreed to meet up at a motorway service station to get the piece done.

Cherries: Dalla Valle signs until end of the season

7:00am Wednesday 16th March 2011

Comments(2)  By Neil Perrett

ASSISTANT boss Steve Fletcher believes Cherries loan star Lauri Dalla Valle is adapting quickly to the rigours of League One.

Dalla Valle, who has netted twice since initially joining Cherries from Fulham for a month, yesterday extended his stay until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old striker will be available for the final 10 league games of the season and would also be permitted to feature in any potential play-off matches.

Dalla Valle, who has been nicknamed Van Man by his new team-mates, will be looking to continue his impressive form at Carlisle on Saturday.

Fletcher told the Daily Echo: "We brought him in to score a couple of goals and he has done that. He has done well and we were keen to keep him for the rest of the season.

"We spoke to Fulham and then spoke to the Van Man to ask him if he would be interested. He said he would so all parties were happy.

"He had never played at this level before he came here. You need to get used to the pace of League One and he has scored a couple of outstanding goals.

"With a few games behind him, he is going to know what it is all about.

"It is not just about scoring goals in our team because there are a lot of other things to consider.

"There are a few things he is still getting accustomed to but he is a willing lad and very keen to learn. He is going to be a great attribute to us."

Meanwhile, Cherries' striking resources received another fillip yesterday when long-term injury victim Steve Lovell took his first steps on the comeback trail.

Lovell, who has yet to feature since joining Cherries in the summer, came through 45 minutes of the reserves' 2-0 defeat by Swindon.

Fletcher said: "We watched Steve in training about 10 days ago and he was a bit tentative. We thought it might be two to three weeks before he played but he has come back ahead of schedule.

"I know what it is like when you come back after being out for a while. But you get more confident every day and it will be a huge plus to have Steve back when he is ready.

"We don't want him to run before he can walk. We know where he has been and nobody will be pushing him to do anything too soon."

Mark Molesley may require a scan after turning his ankle during the first half, while trialist Calum Butcher is expected to be invited back after impressing Fletcher and boss Lee Bradbury.

A strong Swindon team coasted to victory thanks to goals from Elliott Benyon and Billy Bodin.

Cherries: Murphy, Nelson, Purches, Stephenson (Wakefield, h-t), Butcher, Partington, Makoni, Molesley (Parsons, 26), Lovell (Maybury, h-t), Taylor, Hester.

Talking after the game, the Saints coach described the display as, 'the most professional performance of the season.'

The team was a blend of youth and more senior Academy products combined to see off a Fulham team with a host of international players involved.

The game turned out to be a really good workout and though chances were missed the Saints youngsters won through a Ben Reeves goal.

The Fulham Keeper had a great game as he stopped several good shots/attempts on his goal. FT 0-1.
