Fulham Review Reprints -- another rich





Hi

After much umming and arring I'm going to run a second print run of the now out of print Great Escape Fulham Review.

The trick here is that it's going to be a bit more expensive, as I'm not going to run off 3/400 of them (20/30 more likely). So to cover this I'm going to ask for £10 a copy. Hopefully this doesn't scare too many people off, but it's costing me a lot more to print them. All 06/07 and 08/09 (and 09/10 for that matter, when it comes out) remain at the bargain £5 price.

HUDDLESTONE TO SEE SPECIALIST

Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone will consult a specialist after suffering ankle ligament damage during the victory over Everton at the weekend.

Huddlestone was injured when he was tackled by John Heitinga early in the second half of the Barclays Premier League clash and left White Hart Lane in a protective boot.

A statement from Spurs read: "Scans have revealed that Tom Huddlestone has suffered damage to the ligaments in his right ankle.

"The England international sustained the injury during Sunday's win over Everton and the player will now be seen by ankle specialists before deciding on the best course of rehabilitation."

Volz given QPR chance

Moritz Volz will get an early chance to impress incoming QPR boss Neil Warnock when he plays for the club's reserves.

The former Arsenal and Fulham full-back, 27, is currently on trial at Loftus Road and has been named in the second-string line-up to face Millwall on Tuesday night.

Striker Angelo Balanta and defender Gary Borrowdale will also be given run-outs to improve their match fitness ahead of Warnock's first game in charge, Saturday's visit of promotion-chasing West Brom.

England Left-Back Options

After Wayne Bridge refused to shake the hand of former team-mate John Terry on Saturday, the Bridge-Terry saga will no doubt continue to rumble on. But more importantly, England have a World Cup to win this summer. And with Ashley Cole struggling to be fit and Bridge's recent withdrawal, Sport.co.uk look at Fabio Capello's potential replacements to fill the left-back void.

Stephen Warnock
With only one cap to his name, he would be a big risk. Good in the tackle but lacks Cole's attacking prowess. He was given the run-around by Antonio Valencia on Saturday, so hopefully he will spend less time on his backside if given the nudge for South Africa.

Leighton Baines
Everton's Mr Dependable. Solid at the back and good going forward and supporting attacks. A great deliverer of the ball and he doesn't mind stepping up for penalties, which could prove (will definitely prove in the Quarter-Finals) vitally important to Capello.

Joleon Lescott
Primarily a centre-half, the Manchester City defender has played at left-back for Everton and England. Injury problems and poor form this term would make him a gamble but he pops up with the occasional goal.

James Milner
Having his best season to date at Aston Villa. The versatile 24-year-old prefers to play further forward but he has filled in at left-back before and could prove an effective alternative.

Gareth Barry
Experienced, naturally left-footed and comfortable on the ball, Barry could be a perfect replacement for Cole. Michael Carrick could slot into Barry's midfield role but it's uncertain whether Capello would want to unsettle his midfield.


Nicky Shorey
Playing well for Fulham at present but unlikely to get the big call. He is yet to reproduce the form that he showed at Reading.

Phil Neville
A solid performer. He has been a utility man throughout his career and the Everton captain might be seen as a safe bet to do a job for the national side in South Africa.

Liam Ridgewell
May sound like a bad shout, but the former England Under-21 defender has played left-back for one of the meanest defences in the Premier League this season. Birmingham City have the joint-best defensive home record, conceding an impressive eight goals in 14 games.

Wayne Bridge
Don't forget that there are still three months to go. If John Terry continues to put in shoddy performances for Chelsea, Capello might be forced to drop his former captain, leaving the door open for Bridge's return. Unlikely, but still possible.

Charles N'Zogbia
He might not sound very English. That's because he's not. But he is uncapped by his native France and is soon to be granted England citizenship. Plus his performances this campaign for Wigan have drawn comparisons to Lionel Messi from his manager Roberto Martinez. Fabio, pick up the phone....

MEMBERS of the Republic of Ireland football team were spotted shopping in central St Albans yesterday.

A reader told the Review: "The Republic of Ireland squad were wandering around and shopping in St Albans town centre.

"I know they are training at Arsenal's training facility in London Colney and by the looks of things, they were fresh from training, all in their training kits.

"Ireland play Brazil at the Emirates this week. I spotted Fulham's Damien Duff and Manchester City's Shay Given."
