Jon Gregory joins Fulham Football Club

English soccer club Fulham have appointed Jonathan Gregory as their new commercial director. Gregory had previously worked as director of partnerships for England's unsuccessful bid to host the 2018 World Cup and prior to that, had held the role of commercial director at Wembley Stadium.

Fulham have also struck a deal with Dailymotion to broadcast live the second leg of their Uefa Europa League qualifying campaign against Crusaders. The game will be available free of charge for fans across the globe on the Dailymotion website. Should Fulham win the tie, Dailymotion will broadcast the remainder of their qualifying matches.

A statement from the club read: 'We are really excited to be working with Dailymotion for the first time. This agreement offers Fulham fans around the world an opportunity to watch the club's progression in a new European adventure.'

A London court rejected Fulham soccer club's latest effort to remove Dave Richards as English Premier League chairman over his part in a player sale.

Fulham claimed Richards acted improperly by becoming involved in the transfer of Peter Crouch from Portsmouth to Tottenham in 2009. It said Richards's efforts led Crouch to join Tottenham for 9 million pounds ($14.6 million) rather than Fulham, which was prepared to pay 11 million pounds.

Fulham took the matter to court after the league's arbitration panel rejected its allegations against Richards. The court ruled Fulham was bound by the league's arbitration statutes.

High Court Judge Geoffrey Vos first ruled against the west London-based team in December.

"I would affirm the decision of Vos and dismiss the appeal," Nicholas Pattern, one of three judges to rule on the case, said today.

Richards had acknowledged talking to Tottenham on behalf of Portsmouth but denied Fulham's claims he acted as an "unauthorized" agent in the trade. Portsmouth needed to raise 9 million pounds in order to avoid being shutdown over taxes owed to the U.K. government, court papers show. Spurs paid the entire fee in a lump sum.

Richards has been Premier League chairman for 12 years.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope
