ANDY JOHNSON'S KRAK DOWN

2nd November 2011

By Paul Brown

ANDY JOHNSON fears Fulham must resort to the dark arts if they want to conquer Europe.

Johnson claims Wisla Krakow got away with murder as Martin Jol's men went down 1-0 in Poland two weeks ago.

Jol accused Wisla's Gervasio Nunez of conning the referee by getting Moussa Dembele sent off in a brutal Europa League encounter.

And Johnson reckons Fulham should fight fire with fire in the return clash at Craven Cottage tomorrow night.

He said: "I think we'll have to approach the game at our place differently. There's nothing we can do about the ref.

"But I think you need to be careful. You need to be a bit wiser in Europe. That's always been the case.

"There's a lot of diving, a lot of play-acting going on. We've just got to be clever.

"Maybe we need to do it a bit ourselves just to keep up with these teams and make things fair."

Johnson, 30, once had a reputation for diving himself and worked hard to get rid of it.

When he was at Everton, boss David Moyes even claimed it worked against him because referees were refusing to give him penalties.
