Reflections on my first visit to the Emirates

Just got home.

Very aesthetiacally pleasing for a modern stadium. Looks even more impressive than on TV because it is so open you can view the whole ground without any obstructions.

Is heavily stylised compared to the cottage but even from the upper tier the view was good and the seat was by far the comfiest you will ever get at a football ground - might go some way to explain why there was barely any standing up throughout the match!

The atmosphere was surprisingly good. As HD mentioned they were rather noisy at times although most of this was directed at nasri. Same old chants that you hear at most grounds but nothing as unique as our Al Fayed/by the river ditties. No songs directed at their own players either - though this may have been because it was the reserves.

The citeh fans were very meek until they scored and did their irritating Poznen (something so smug and self satisfying about that) but then it was quite a dull match.

Anyway worth a visit but not a patch on our beautiful cottage.
