Manchester United are lining up a sensational move for Arsenal skipper Robin van Persie.

The 28-year-old has just one year left on his current deal at the Emirates and there has been intense speculation over whether he will remain at Arsenal.
Van Persie, who has hit 35 goals in all competitions this season, has stated that he will hold talks with Arsene Wenger over his future in the summer.
Manchester City are reportedly ready to pay the Dutchman £250,000 a week to quit north London, while Juventus, Real Madrid and Barcelona have also been linked with moves.
Now United have joined the chase, with Sir Alex Ferguson planning to strengthen his squad this summer after a disappointing campaign that looks set to end without any silverware.
talkSPORT understands United have already sounded out the possibility of van Persie making a switch to Old Trafford, and are prepared to splash out big on the former Feyenoord man.

Have you ever heard of Samir Nasri? Whilst it may be rubbish it certainly isn't impossible, is it?

And dont take this the wrong way but being a German how do you know so much about our media? It seems you pour scorn over any story that doesn't come from 'your sources / agent mate'.
This is an honest question and not a dig at you by the way.

The English tabloid media is known around the world for being awful, it has been cited by several players and managers as a reason they would not want to come to England. Talksport makes its money from controversy - talk crap about clubs, people ring up to complain, create controversy = money.

It's not impossible, but it would surprise me if RVP went anywhere for less than £30m, and I dont see Man Utd offering that kind of money when they refused to spend on a new central mid and had to bring one out of retirement!

I am thinking maybe Mr. Fulham was just referring to what seems to be the common nickname, I read on this board, for that program. I think you Londoners call it what he called it. I've never listened to it myself so I have no idea.

RVP to Manchester United would be a huge loss for Arsenal but Arsenal seems to always bring up new talent and sell off their best players for big dosh. They run at a nice profit so I'm sure they have a number and hey more competition is better for the final price. This maybe heresy but I respect how Arsenal run their business. They haven't won anyway silverware lately but they are in there each year for CL and seem to run a good sustainable business at the same time.

I wouldn't call talksport a 'tabloid' source of media but yes it is referred to 'talkshite' by some. Personally I like listening to it, being a phone in sports show it has varied views on it by fans, ex pro's and the like. Some really good entertaining presenters as well as some wind up merchants that invoke people to phone up (Ive been cut off because Adrian 'I deal in facts' Durham couldn't use his facts to answer my question countering his argument  :014:).

On the other subject, I was referring to manUre not being totally out of the question if he runs down his contract. Nasri was rumoured to be all ready to sign for them for 'footballing' reasons until Citeh came in with different footballing reasons (£££££).
Utd are said to have money to spend this year but we'll see.

Could RVP play alongside Rooney? If there was truth in this it would tend to suggest that one of Wellbeck, Berbatov or Chicharito or Micky Owen (?is he still there?) are on their way out. At City, he'd surely replace Balliotelli?

About talkshite, I do listen to it as it covers what I'm interested in...BUT I will not listen to Keys & Gray on it.
Just as on Radio5 if that plank Claridge is on, the radio goes off.

FC Silver Fox

if....if....if....if....;

If this RVP thingy did come about, Berbatov could well be interested in a move.....

If we lost Clint, I'd take Berbatov in a heartbeat..... on 2nd thoughts, maybe Berbatov is more like a Pog than a Clint.... belay my last.

(I'll go and sit down)
Finn and Corked Hat, you are forever part of the family.

You mean you dont enjoy Keys and Gray backslapping eachother and name dropping? +1
Hawksby and Jacobs are quality though.

Talksport is crap. It's The Sun of the airwaves.
