Venue: White Hart Lane Date: Sunday, 13 May

TEAM NEWS

Tottenham are without both of the recognised left backs in their squad as Danny Rose is suspended and Benoit Assou-Ekotto is injured, so William Gallas could have to deputise.

Scott Parker is a doubtful due to an Achilles problem, so Sandro could retain his place in central midfield.

Fulham manager Martin Jol has no new injury concerns for the trip to his former club.

Forwards Bryan Ruiz and Andy Johnson are long-term absentees.

MATCH PREVIEW

The stakes are high at White Hart Lane as Tottenham go into the final day sweating on a Champions League spot for next season.

Spurs know that if their result against Fulham matches that of Newcastle they will have secured the last qualifying spot.

But it is as not as simple as that. They still have the chance of overhauling bitter rivals Arsenal in third, which would 100% guarantee their participation in next season's Champions League.

Finishing fourth could result in a nightmare scenario arising. If London rivals Chelsea beat Bayern Munich and win the Champions League on 19 May they will take the fourth and final qualifying position, meaning Spurs would only have Europa League football to look forward to.

If that happens it would be a bitter blow to Spurs, but they would only have themselves to blame after their recent run of one win in nine matches ruined a spell of just one defeat in 19 earlier in the season in which they thrilled neutrals with some delightful football.

History suggests that Harry Redknapp's side are facing the perfect opposition, as Fulham's record at White Hart Lane stands at just two wins from 37 visits.

Their manager Martin Jol will be keen to improve on that record and he has added motivation given the circumstances in which his tenure as Tottenham boss came to an end. He reportedly found out he was being replaced by Juande Ramos during half-time of a Uefa Cup match against Getafe, so despite his affection for the club a victory would be sweet revenge over Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.

Three points would seal the Cottagers' highest-ever finish in the Premier League and cap a fine first season in charge for the Dutchman at Craven Cottage.

Jol knows what it is like to suffer the heartbreak of missing out on a Champions League spot following the infamous lasagne debacle on the final day of the 2005-06 season. His Tottenham side lost at West Ham after being struck down by illness and were usurped by Arsenal. Harry Redknapp does not want to be left with the same sick feeling.

MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head
Fulham's last league win over Tottenham came over three years ago (2-1 in November 2008).

They have managed just one victory in their last 11 league matches with Spurs, but thrashed them 4-0 in last season's FA Cup.

Fulham boss Martin Jol managed Tottenham from November 2004 to October 2007. He took charge of 148 games in all competitions, winning 67, losing 43 and drawing 38. In his first full season in charge, he led Spurs to fifth place, their highest league position since 1990.

Tottenham
Tottenham have won only three of their last 12 league matches.

Spurs have won just one game after falling behind in the Premier League this season.

All five penalties that Tottenham Hotspur have earned this season have come away from home.

They had 19 corners against Aston Villa, 22 goal attempts and 62% possession but only managed to score from a penalty.

Fulham
Fulham are just one point short of their best ever Premier League points total of 53 set in 2008-09.

They have won the last seven league matches in which they scored the opening goal, and are unbeaten in the last 24 games in which they have taken the lead.

The Londoners are the only Premier League team yet to pick up a red card this season.

Clint Dempsey has reached the milestone of 50 Premier League goals, meaning America are the 22nd different nationality to have a player net 50 goals or more in the division.

Jol issues hands-off warning for Fulham's star duo

Fulham manager Martin Jol insists Clint Dempsey and Mousa Dembele are not for sale this summer.

The duo have been linked with moves away from Craven Cottage this summer after enjoying stellar seasons.

Dempsey has been one of the players of the season after scoring 23 goals, while Dembele has blossomed since moving into central midfield from his position on the wing.

But Jol is adamant neither will be leaving this summer as they prepare to head to Tottenham on the last day knowing victory will break the club's best ever points total in the Premier League.

"We have had no bids and they are not for sale," said the Dutchman.

"Clint Dempsey is injured and will not play on Sunday. Dembele will play but he will not go.

"It is hypothetical as we have no bids for Clint or Dembele. They are some of our best players and we want them here."

A Tough Proposition

Having made a great impression playing for us, it looks as if there are a plethora of clubs looking to snatch Moussa Dembele from us.

According to one news source, Dembele, if he chooses to leave Craven Cottage, could take his pick from:-

• Manchester United

Liverpool

Manchester City

Chelsea

Arsenal

Or

• Spurs

It looks like Martin Jol will have to use all his persuasive talent to keep hold of the 24 year-old Belhgian international
