It looks as if the injury is genuine.

But it won't stop some sides making a pitch for his services...

It comes down to whether he wants to be a benchwarmer at a Big 4 club, or a guaranteed starter for us.

(this isnt aimed personally at you Burt)

Of course the injury is genuine!

What would we possibly gain from benching him? He gives us a better chance of winning the game when played.

Its not like leaving him out of one match would make everyone forget about him, he has been great all season. Any manager who forgets this fact because he missed one game would have to be one of the biggest idiots ever.

Completely agree.

The conspiracy theorists would have it that a deal has been agreed and that the new club don't want to risk a career-ending injury before he joins...

I am not in that camp by the way.

Let the conspiracy therories begi

I am quite relaxed in thinking you missed the 'n' of on purpose but I will also accept that it has been kidnapped and locked in a darkened room whilst contract negotiations proceed via a series of agents. It might be worth looking at team sheets on sunday to see if Hagalad and Va de Vart are okay. Ultimately the CIA will blame the mafia ........ you heard it here firs.

I'm far from being Jol's biggest fan but I see no reason whatsoever to doubt what he has said about Demps. (and Dembele).

I imagine that if an offer comes in for Demps. he'll think long and hard before accepting it. He doesn't seem the sort of player who would be happy playing a bit part at the likes of one of the Manchester clubs, and with the best will in the world I don't see him as quite good enough to be an (almost) automatic first pick with one of them.

Assuming the Club offers him a decent contract, I think he's quite likely to stay - certainly can't see him going to the likes of Liverpool on the off chance they might qualify for the Champions League - in the UK for the next two or three years only the two Manchester clubs seem guaranteed qualifiers.

Starbucks in Wimbledon was crowded this morning. Clint Dempsey was sitting at the only table with a spare place, so I asked him if he would mind if I sat there.

"Suit yussen, soft lad," he said affably.

I asked him if he was already looking forward to next year. "Oh aye, I'm really made up, me. It's gonna be a lorra, lorra fun. Any road I've gorra catch a train to Houston [I may have missheard this, could have been "...a train at Euston"]". And with that he sprinted off like an Olympic athlete, accidentally leaving me with his bill and whistling an old Gerry and the Pacemakers tune from the 60s. It was only then that I realised he had nicked my wallet.

I'm sure he is staying.

I'll join the skeptic club and think the injury is fabricated. Terms have been agreed and the buying club doesn't want him to sustain a serious injury in the last match...though I hope he is injured (strange saying that)

US National team has 3 friendlies coming up this month against Scotland, Brazil, and Canada and a world cup qualifier on June 8--so Sunday is not his "last match" by any means.  Besides, Deuce don't roll like that.  He wants to be on the pitch no matter what.  He's injured all right.

And thus, a hamstring injury is very ambiguous and can take weeks to properly heal... 086.gif

he's off.  no way is he injured.:)

Saw Clint this morning and he was just coming back from MP after a long session with the medical team, hamstring tight apparently so will not be at WHL on sunday asked him if he was leaving and said not as far as he is aware, talks over contract extension ongoing at the moment but is very happy at FFC  starsnstripes
Whilst that's nice to hear he's not likely to tell you is he, leaking this news would be disastrous for everyone concerned.

what? what? Are you seriously implying that Mr. Jol might be lying to the press? Prepare yourself for the onslaught of Jol defenders!

Yes but Senderos is rubbish and his defending is awful except when he is really good and Hughes plays better with Brede anyway and Brede is rubbish when Senderos is playing alongside him. Except when he is not. So we don't need any more Jol Defenders grasping the wrong end of the proverbial.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

MOR :

With all this talk about Dempsey and the conspiracy theories surrounding him, if anyone wants me I'll be in the bunker donning aluminum foil undergarments. Toodle pip...

Berserker

Talking about foil, I've just been strolling round Avebury stone circle and there was a guy in the car park with shreds of tin foil protecting the back of his van! Maybe he has heard the Dempsey conspiracy theorys snd are trying to keep the mind police away ;-)

I'll thank you not to grab either end of my proverbial.

What's all the fuss about?

It's obvious, the Deuce has thrown a sickie because Extreme Fishing is on the Discovery Channel on Sunday.  :hook:
"Do not affix anything to this wall" - sign that was affixed to wall above turnstiles at Hammy end before someone with a clipboard replaced it with a large Fire Exit sign.

Mr Fulham

Got to say I think he's really injured. Would be a massive personal disappointment if he's just pretending to be.

Jol said that our finishing place is out of our hands? Er no, if we win and other results go our way, we finish 7th.

BarryP

The one word I had never heard associated with Dempsey before today is quitter.  I am inclined to believe the man is injured.

The underlined portion clearly defines out of our hands.
