A Lewington Transfer Fee?

We thought that when Ray Lewington was asked to join the England caching set-up alongside Roy Hodgson, everything would be okay.

Today the tabloids inform us that is far from being the case with Fulham having given consent for Ray to join Roy for the forthcoming Euro 2012 Finals but beyond that it is still open to discussion.

It seems that Fulham believe that the Football Association should be offering compensation for luring Ray away from Craven Cottage with a source remarking,

"Ray`s allowed to go to Euro 2012 with Roy."

"But after that we want him back. He`s under contract and only compensation of around £1 million would be enough to let him go."

To us it all sounds a bit harsh and we`d like to know your views on the subject.

Fulham eye versatile Black Cat

Fulham could get the green light to make a move for Keiran Richardson as reports say Sunderland will let him leave this summer.

Richardson has been linked with the Cottagers in recent weeks as boss Martin Jol looks to strengthen his squad over the close season.

The former Manchester United youngster, who only has a year left on his current Black Cats deal and therefore could be available for as little as £3.5million, is believed to want out of the Stadium of Light.

Reports in the north east say Sunderland would not stand in his way if they receive a suitable offer and Jol could make his move when the transfer window reopens.

Everton and recently-promoted West Ham are also said to be keen.

Fulham linked with Hamburg winger Marcell Jansen and Milan don't take up option on Maxi Lopez

German paper BILD have advised that German winger Marcell Jansen has interest from the premier league and his agent stated that he enjoyed his time working under Martin Jol. His agent still has a working relationship with Jol and we accredited with interest.

Last season, Jensen played 24 times for Hamburg and scored 5 goals. He's played a total of 36 games for Germany and scored 3 goals. Last year he played predominantly as a left winger for Hamburg and can also play as a left wingback.

In other news, Italian press are saying that Milan haven't taken up the offer to sign Maxi Lopez on a permanent transfer and he's returned to Catania. The press are advising that Lopez doesn't want to return to Catania full time and is looking to move overseas. After our interest in January, they are linking us again with a move for him.

Injured Clint Dempsey set to miss Scotland tie

SCOTLAND look set to be boosted by the news that USA striker Clint Dempsey is set to miss the friendly though injury.

The Fulham player is the Americans' main goal threat and has enjoyed an excellent season with Martin Jol's men.

He was due to collect his 84th cap for the States against the Scots in Jacksonville this weekend. However, Dempsey is currently suffering from a groin strain and has been forced to sit out training with Jurgen Klinsmann's side.

And, with the US facing five games in 18 days, including vital World Cup qualifiers, it seems certain that the German will not take any chances with Dempsey and allow him to sit out the game. Dempsey holds the record for the most goals scored by an American in the English Premier League, with 37 so far.

But he seems set to miss out on the clash with Craig Levein's side in Florida.

Meanwhile, USA captain and Rangers defender Carlos Bocanegra admits he relishes every minute of his time with national team coach Jurgen Klinsmann.

"It's a huge honour for me to be captain of my country and to play for someone like Jurgen, who has done it at the top level, won everything possible for your club and national team. I have been able to learn a lot from him," said Bocanegra, who is poised to win his 102nd cap in the challenge match against Scotland.

"He challenges me and the other guys to get better every day, every week and it's something we look forward to.

"We have a great group of leaders on this team, it's a group effort and everyone pulls in the right direction."
