He's the Real deal! Madrid show interest in Fulham's Dembele

Real Madrid are understood to be the latest big club to show an interest in signing Fulham attacking midfielder Moussa Dembele.

The Belgium international is entering the final year of his contract at Craven Cottage and has caught the eye of a number Europe's top clubs ever since he first moved to England in 2010.

Both Tottenham and Manchester United have previously shown interest in Dembele, but Fulham boss Martin Jol is keen to hold onto one of his star players.

Real interest: Moussa Dembele has attracted interest from Real Madrid, according to his agent

But Dembele's agent, Jan de Visser told De Telegraaf that the Spanish champions have registered their interest in the player.

De Visser said: 'Real Madrid have contacted us and asked about Moussa Dembele's availability.

'They are not the first big club to make enquiries about Moussa this summer, though.'

Fulham eye up a double deal for Jordan Rhodes and Andrey Arshavin
Fulham want to boost their forward options with a double deal for Huddersfield sensation Jordan Rhodes, and out-of-favour Arsenal winger Andrey Arshavin.

Martin Jol had been hoping to continue his impressive work reshaping the Fulham squad this summer, but has endured a difficult few months so far, losing star duo Danny Murphy and Pavel Pogrebnyak at the end of their contracts.

The Dutchman has also faced a battle trying to fend off interest in Moussa Dembele and Clint Dempsey, but he has managed to bring in Hugo Rodallega, Mladen Petric and Sascha Riether - albeit without spending any money.

However, Jol is still chasing up to three new faces, with a powerful striker the main priority.

The Cottagers have drawn up a list of targets, top of which is Huddersfield Town hitman Rhodes, who scored 40 goals in a promotion winning season in League One last term.

Fulham had an equiruty for the 22-year-old knocked back in January, and have since failed with a £2 million bid for player, with Huddersfield determined to stick to their £6 million valuation.

Blackburn and Sunderland have also expressed an interest, but Fulham are ready to come back to the table, with a £4 miillion bid plus £2 million in variable add ons.

Rhodes is seen as the penultimate part of Jol's rebuilding of the clubs forward line, with a cut-price deal for Arsenal's mercurial Russian Andrey Arshavin also on the cards.

Arshavin has been told he can quit the Emirates Stadium this summer, and will hold talks with manager Arsene Wenger in the next week or so, to decide on his next move.

Fulham are willing to offer Arshavin, who is settled in London and wants his children to grown up in England, a two-year-deal at Craven Cottage, but they would need him to take a hit on his £80,000-a-week wages.

Oranje Winners

Kom Op Fulham

Three weeks ago we launched our 2012/13 Oranje Away Kit and to celebrate this, John Arne Riise, Brede Hangeland and Kerim Frei randomly picked one lucky Fulham fan who had purchased an Away Shirt, as the winner of a new Ibiza car, generously provided by our sponsor, SEAT.

But that wasn't the only prize up for grabs! We also gave fans who purchased the Away Shirt, during the kit's launch week, the opportunity to win one of three pairs of tickets to see Fulham take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday 25th August, as well as an Oranje Shirt signed by the players who made the draw.

Last week our first winner, John Ford, dropped by the Stadium Shop to collect his signed shirt. John has been a Season Ticket Holder for many years and still remembers the days when he paid at the gate to see the boys play. You can see him in this picture, proudly holding his grandson, one of our youngest Fulham fans, and his signed shirt.

His Manchester United tickets will be in the post soon and we're looking forward to seeing him at Old Trafford.

Make sure you're prepared for the coming season and buy the 2012/13 Away Shirt online, instore or direct on 0843 208 1223, today.

Defender offered Fulham lifeline

MARTIN Jol has left the door open for Zdenek Grygera to win a new deal at Fulham.

The Czech defender is out of contract following a long lay-off with a knee injury, but is back in full training as he tries to prove his fitness to the Whites boss.

Fulham have brought in right-back Sascha Riether on loan, while Stephen Kelly has also agreed new terms in SW6.

But Jol is ready to offer the 32-year-old the opportunity to remain at Craven Cottage.

He told the Chronicle: "Grygera was injured and looks better now.

"Hopefully he can prove himself before the end of August. If he proves he's fit I would like to keep him.

"He was one of the few players who did well from the start. I played him against Chelsea in the Carling Cup and he was the best man on the pitch. He's a good player."

Grygera made just seven appearances for Fulham since his switch from Juventus last summer before suffering a horrific cruciate ligament injury against Spurs in November that ended his season.

However, the former Ajax full-back is determined to pull on the white shirt again and prove his worth to his boss.

"I am happy and will spend pre-season with Fulham and we will see what happens in the next few weeks," said Grygera.

"I would be very happy to stay here. It's difficult because there's two other right-backs so I don't know my situation."

This is one story that I sincerely hope is true. He'd be useful at RB and CB.
