Manchester City U18s 1 Fulham U18s 4

Cauley Woodrow scored a hat-trick as Fulham Under-18s recorded an impressive defeat of Manchester City.

Woodrow opened the scoring after just five minutes when heading in from a brilliant cross from Liam Donnelly. City hit back on 14 minutes following a defensive mix up, but within 60 seconds Steve Wigley's side were back in front, with Woodrow beating his marker to another cross when heading home from Jordan Evans' delivery.

On the stroke of half-time Fulham had a third when Muamer Tankovic volleyed in from another Evans cross.

Wigley's charges started the second half in continued fashion with Emerson Hyndman almost finding a fourth. However, they didn't have to wait too long after Woodrow was brought down in the box following clever play from George Williams and Tankovic. Woodrow stepped up and despatched the penalty in confident fashion.

Fulham could have claimed a fifth late one, but the City keeper made fine saves to keep out Tankovic and Woodrow.

Academy Director Huw Jennings said: "This was a good win for the boys and it was important for them to return to winning ways. Cauley took his goals very well, and throughout there was some really good football. It's a shame that we conceded a goal, but this was a very solid performance."

Fulham U18s: Grainger (Oberschmidt 80); Donnelly, Passley, Arthurworrey, Evans; Sambou, Hyndman (Della Verde 70), Roberts, Williams (Richards 80); Tankovic, Woodrow.
