Good news on Jol, but that's not news on Hangers at all - just wishful thinking.  We all saw where that lead us with Dembele.

just read that article myself. Great news all round. Finally some stability. I'm surprised the club havent looked to extend Jols contract by 3 or 4 years. We're definitely going in the right direction as a club

Good stuff.

A bit of management stability will help the cause.

The news on Hangeland is that a contract has been offered.

The difference between the cases of Hangeland and Dembele is that Hangeland is 31 and Dembele is 25, is still improving and has the potential to play for 7+ years at the top level.

Hangeland is still a quality centre half hopefully signing a new deal will let us Fulham fans see the old him

Was about to say the same thing. Dembele was always gonna leave, and despite being assured he'd stay this season, we all pretty much knew that if the release clause was met (and if Modric left Spurs) then he'd be gone. Brede is unlikely to get any big offers from elsewhere (I don't buy into the United rumours), so if he appears happy with a contract we've offered him then I'd say we can be cautiously optimistic.

Agree.

I would be more than happy to see him stay.  The time it's taking gives me reason to doubt he will sign.

Because it's a clause.

The time it's taking?

He was JUST offered a new contract, and he was "happy" to get it.
The past contract offer fell out, and was over and done with.

Good news about Jol - longer the better as far as I am concerned .

Brede though is I fear is another Murphy . Great player and servant to the club but coming to the end of his time as a Premier League starter .
My worry is that all the focus will be on extending contracts but not bringing in the replacement ( this has to be the CM story )

I would like to see Brede have another year but as a squad player 2013-2014.
We must have lined up better starters before then.

Nightwind15

Excellent!! Since Dempsey left he is my favourite player!!!
I played in the first match I ever saw!

I would like Jol to have been offered 3 years & Brede 2+ option. Long contracts give us bargaining power if another club wants to sign Jol or Brede. Any contract can be bought out so I don´t see why they are not offered.

We need to tie Jol down he is top class, Hangeland is certainly worth a 2 year deal

I would want him to be more than just a squad player.  He is almost always fit, and hardly misses a game.  I think he could continue to be number 1, but coupled with a new back like Doublas.  Hughes can be cover CB/RB.  I am a big Hughes fan, top professional!  I would want him to stay on with the team too.

"extravert," Gracie?

sigh
It looked weird to me, too, but apparently it's an acceptable variant spelling of 'extrovert'.
