At least we seem to be climbing up the current league table.

Based on the last 6:

1   Man United   5   1   0   15   6   9   16
2   Man City      4   1   1   11   4   7   13
3   Tottenham   3   3   0   11   4   7   12
4   Everton      3   2   1   7   5   2   11
5   Chelsea      3   2   1   12   7   5   11
6   Reading      3   2   1   9   8   1   11
7   Liverpool      3   1   2   15   7   8   10
8   Sunderland   3   1   2   8   7   1   10
9   Swansea      2   4   0   7   4   3   10

13   QPR      1   3   2   3   6   -3   6
14   Stoke      1   2   3   9   16   -7   5
15   Wigan      1   2   3   9   12   -3   5
16   West Ham   1   1   4   5   14   -9   4
17   West Brom   1   1   4   8   12   -4   4

I looked at that before the game last night and there are a few teams in free fall that never really get a mention, Stoke, West Brom and Norwich, if you look at the last 4 league games it looks ok for us, Wins against West Brom and West Ham, draw with Wigan and lost to Man City, so 7 from 12, I think we would have all settled for that return from those fixtures!

Partly a matter of presentation.

Before yesterday we had 2 wins in 15 which is dreadful.

Now we have 3 in 9 which is actually perfectly reasonable.

3 in 16 is also a correct figure, which ain't too sparkly.

I like the 2-2-2 over the last six though. 8 points from each 6 matches played would be a wonderful pace over a season.

Ah the danger of statistics...

A tentative conclusion you could draw from this however is that we seem to be climbing out of the slump.

And then next up is ManU... D-oh.

Not actually far off that at the moment - only 4 points below which would have been he certain victory against Sunderland (had Brede not been stupid) and the point against QPR (which should have been the bare minimum expected).  Then throw in the throw aways early n the season, a bit of concentration and this team could have been flying.  Despite the badness of the midfield.

Ah the what ifs of life-if you consider the number of games we have thrown away when from the jaws of victory giving away 2 points each time we could easily have 8-10 points more than we have thats ignoring the Sunderland scoreline, even with 10(9) at times I still feel we should have won that game giving another 3. Just underlines the fine line between success and failure this season in the Premier league
