Oscar Pistorius has been arrested and charged with murder according to this article:

One has to hope that the charges are unfounded.

Not sure why.

Someone's been killed. I hope the guilty party is identified and punished appropriately.

Whatever the truth may be.

I think he means it would be such a shame if Pistorious was found guilty.... It doesnt look good for him, but I am hoping there is something further to develop which prooves pistorius is innocent. Yes I hope the guilty person is punished, I just hope its not Oscsar

This was indeed what I was trying to get across.

Yes, I too hope the guilty party is found, but am hoping that it isn't Pistorius.

I read some where on the BBC that it could have been an accident, possibly he thought it was a intruder

These reports did not come from the police, however.

Unlikely circumstances if you ask me. Terribly sad.

grandad

There are reports of previous domestic disturbances.
Where there's a will there's a wife

Baider

he must have been proper legless to shoot his own girlfriend

I live in SA, so this is proper big news here. Everyone's covered the interesting bits here though.
* it initially reported that he thought it was an intruder, fired four shots hit her with two
* then police are opposing bail and charged him with murder
* reports of domestic disturbance, as in police attended property before
* also reports of shouting the night before
It all sounds a bit dodgy

Oh wow this is really not looking good for him, I had really hoped that there was more to this then met the eye, but it seems not.... Such a shame as I was a huge fan of pistorious

cottage cheese

best excuse yet for a murder.

Absolute tragic story. The man has a well known temper but this is just horrible to even read. I hope to god he does not get bail and left to rot.

This.

Pistorius was one of the biggest names over the summer, the media loved him and in turn the public loved him. So when something like this happens it creates genuine shock, and I suppose the first response by his fans is going to be denial. But at the end of the day you've got to look at the facts, and it's not looking good.

Horribly tragic story.

It won't be the first Valentines Day when a legless bloke shot all over his girlfriend thinking she was someone else..

Not so sure about that. He shot her four times. Also, the police have visited the residence on previous occasions following reports of domestic incidents. The police questioned him at length in the house before arresting him and have refused bail. That does not bode well for him.
Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.
