We all see the game differently, FoF has taught me that.

Blimey... There were a whole bunch of freaky results that day. Not a 0-0 in sight. Must have been one of the highest aggregate number of goals on a footballing day in history.

Burt

Leicester 2 - 0 Everton

Phooey... Is that the best they could do? Muster up a measly 2 goals between them? Pathetic...

Brilliant game, I was there 5-1 at half time, a few days later we played Ipswich away and lost 2-4.

Got into trouble that day. Watched the game as a young lad, with my parents having Boxing Day celebrations with my uncle in one of the side streets by the ground. Went to my uncle's house after the game to find them on the phone to a Fulham supporting friend who was holidaying in the West Indies. I was immediately given the phone to tell him the score (which I did,10-1) at which point everyone started shouting at me saying it was an expensive phone call, so just tell him what the score actually was. I repeated the score, 10-1, and was shouted out again!

Fulham1959

I was at Liverpool that day, watching Stoke go down 6-1.  I remember seeing the Fulham half-time score !

The reverse fixtures were a few days' later and there were some more funnies.  For instance, Blackburn travelled to WHU and won 3-1 after having conceded 8 at home on Boxing Day !

David Allen Crankshaw

I was at Maine Road that day with a school friend watching the Division 2 match between Manchester City and Scunthorpe United. City won the match 8-1. I had a sixpenny bet with him earlier that Fulham would score more than City that day. He wasn't a happy chap that evening.

A sixpenny bet, Crankshaw!  At least you doubled on the thruppenny bet he originally offered.

Where are those top-flight perennials?  QPHa should be there somewhere, surely???

Just to remind you that Graham Leggett set the record for the fastest ever hat trick in that Ipswich game.

SG

I was there that day and also at Portman Rd two days later when typical Fulham we lost 4-2

Tut, tut !  It's Leggat, one of Fulham's greatest.
