Think your just messing with me, but just in case:

What I meant was it is so rare that we sign a player early that we are "paying for" and it would have been more impressing if we had to pay due to the fact that, that would be a huge change in how we tend to do business.

Played down interest apparently. That suggests either that there's no truth whatsoever in it or that it's not finalized yet. I don't see why he'd deny it if it's all finalized.

He said he had no comment on the matter because the papers like to speculate and nine times out of ten their wrong. He did say he admires Amorebieta and thinks hes a good player but theres plenty of more good players out there. He also said if there was any involvement in the transfer market the fans would be first to know, making the transfer look very unlikely which is a real shame :/.

I'm purely speculating here, but even if Amorebieta is signed or close to signed, Jol might be inclined not to talk too much about it at this point because it would have a demotivating effect on Senderos (and lord knows what many think of him even when he IS fully motivated) to know that he's going to be replaced imminently.
