... since a Fulham player has scored in a league match.

Some may be okay with this, but others think that Martin Jol Sexy Football is the problem rather than the solution.

People around me at the Cottage are fed up with the fact that we get to edge of the opponents penalty area then pass it back to midfield then back to Hangeland then back to Schwatzer, far from sexy more like boring.

Still to this day, I'm baffled as to how we didn't come away from Norwich with 3 points!

They were absolutely dire on the day and every time we got to their penalty area, we stopped, broke down the play and passed the ball back into midfield.

I was sitting there screaming at Martin Jol to make a change, or for someone just to bloody shoot but for 90 minutes, nothing.

Very, very odd.

That's a scary stat, Mr Hat.

Hopefully there will be a goal-fest against Reading.

Because I'm a sad old git here is a graph showing our shots per game, and how its dropped as the season has progressed.

We have had 419 shots at goal, an average of almost 12 a game.

First 12 games of the season we averaged almost 15 per game
Next 12 we were close to 11 shots per game
Last 11 games we average just over 10.

Away from home we average 9.8 shots. Only Sunderland, Stoke and Norwich average less away.

Simple thing is if you dont shoot, you dont score.

Burt

The amazing thing is that you have actually taken the time to plug this in to a spreadsheet to generate the graph, rather than just plucked it from Opta (or wherever else you can get stats etc).

Good work sir...  :clap_hands:

Our 23rd match must have been dull.

truthfully, I still feel like this has been a waste of a season. We can look at with the glass half full: no relegation, gave the youngsters some pitch time,  had a nice start, got to watch one of the best players in the world, and we have some good players

Glass is half empty: with the exception of the first 4 or 5 matches, we have played uninspired football with a couple of decent showings in between. NO consistency, no set lineup, tons of tinkering that hasn't stopped, a very old squad, a manager who doesn't seem to have the locker room, and  I don't think is the answer after watching what has happened the past two seasons. How much of his issue is related to the club management i don't really know. Perhaps he was promised the world when they signed him, and delivered Rhode Island in the end.

Hard to say but this season has been almost pointless other than we will be back in the prem next season. Oh how I long for the days of Hodgson.

Unfortunately I calculate it being 518 minutes HD (22nd minute of HaHa's match), can the lads put one past that stellar Reading (and their -28 GD) defense??
You can observe a lot by just watching.

...I take it that Berbatov's message of "keep calm and pass the ball to me" doesn't mean keep calm, pass to me and I will score regularly?

Whichever way you look at it the sad facts show that the attacking mentality that we had needs to come to the fore again, and this endless build up play with no results needs to stop.

We have drawn and lost too many games playing this negative sideways passing, looking to draw defences out but ending up clogging a midfield that is, as most are likely to agree, lacking in creativity and vision. This results in loss of possession and a worn down defence conceding late.

I have no doubt there are many reasons for this, and there will be loads of stats to show someone's pass rate is wonderful without mentioning in what direction and at what outcome, but if we are safe from the drop, for pity's sake, let's try and take a few more shots and attempt entertainment in our remaining matches...

MOR :

Maybe for this coming Saturday's game against Reading we should play 3 upfront like WBA did against Southampton last weekend...

Might be a tad interesting...

If you have a quote where anyone says they're okay with how long it's been since a Fulham player scored in a league match, I'd love to see it.

Dejagah seemed to be the only player in the side who would go hell-for-leather up the pitch without caring how upset it got the Bulgarian. He's injured now, so ... .

I'm wondering if Special K's attacking display v. Everton will be enough to leave him on the bench for the rest of the season.

Your attention is invited to the scores of posts along the lines of "We play attractive football, we've got a world class player in Berbatov, we're comfortably mid-table. What are all you Jol-haters complaining about."

That's where I was going, Josh.
