The ex-Liverpool winger Tottenham scouted in Sweden: is a move imminent?

AVB's right hand man was spotted scouting Alex Kacaniklic in Sweden this week

Andre Villas Boas is currently searching far and wide for talent to bring to White Hart Lane this summer, and his right hand man was spotted in Malmo last night watching winger Alexander Kacaniklic in action for the Swedish national team.

talkSPORT's Transfer Spotlight has the background details...
Name: Alexander Kacaniklic
Date of birth: 13 August, 1991
Birthplace: Helsingborg, Sweden
Position: Left winger
Club: Fulham
International appearances: 8 (Sweden)

What's the latest?
Kacaniklic was in action for Sweden in a friendly in Malmo last night and, according to Swedish paper Expressen, he was being watched closely from the stands by AVB's right-hand man Daniel Sousa. Sousa must have been impressed, as Kacaniklic scored the only goal of the game, was named man of the match, and was praised by Zlatan Ibrahimovic after the final whistle. The winger's agent acknowledged that he spoke with someone representing Tottenham at the game, so it looks like a move could happen in the future, providing Fulham agree to sell their promising youngster.

Did you know?
1) Kacaniklic was part of the Helsingborgs IF's youth academy when he was brought to Liverpool's own youth system in 2007. After three years with the Reds, he moved to Fulham as part of the deal that sent Paul Konchesky the other way in 2010.
2) The winger performed well with Fulham's reserves, and in 2011 was handed a place on the bench with the first team against Sunderland as a result. In January 2012, he was loaned out to Watford, where he scored his first goal against Burnley in March, and his good performances led to a recall at the end of that month. His Fulham senior debut followed in March 2012, coming on for Pavel Pogrebnyak in a 2-1 victory over Norwich.
3) As a result of his displays in the latter half of the 2011/12 season, Kacaniklic was rewarded with a new Fulham contract the following summer. It proved a wise move, as the winger started the 2012/13 campaign well, scoring his first goal for the London side on the opening day of the season against Norwich. He followed that in November with a goal in a 3-3 away draw to Arsenal, and in the following January, he scored the winner in a 2-1 away victory over West Brom.
4) Kacaniklic's brother, Robin, plays for FK Partizan's reserve side in Serbia, and his father, Zoran, played for Helsingborgs in the 1980s. The winger has admitted that his dad asked him to play for Serbia, but he chose to represent Sweden.
5) The Fulham man received his first Sweden call up in August 2012 for a friendly against Brazil, and would go on to make his debut in that game in the 64th minute. His competitive debut followed in October of that year, when he came on in the 62nd minute of a 2014 World Cup qualifier against the Faroe Islands, and scored Sweden's equaliser with his first touch of the ball. He turned heads in Sweden when his appearance from the bench against Germany a week later helped Sweden to turn a 3-0 deficit into a 4-4 draw, with the winger assisting Johan Elmander for Sweden's third goal.

He says
"I know that Tottenham were at the game and looked at Alex, and I talked to their representative who was in attendance. Obviously Alexander interests many clubs, as he continues to perform well in international games and in the Premier League." Kacaniklic's agent Miro Jaganjac speaking to Expressen.

They say
"We found each other well and created a goal, even if we could have scored a couple more. He hasn't played many international games, but he's doing well." Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Kacaniklic's performance against Macedonia.
