It's still a year away so this may be a bit presumptuous (there are still qualifiers to be played and transfer windows to be seen through).

I was trying to work out if next years world cup might give us the largest contingent of Fulham players at one single world cup.

----

ASIA

Iran have qualified, making Ashkan Dejagah the first Fulham player to qualify for 2014 (Australia and Schwarzer have also qualified but sadly he no longer belongs to us).

EUROPE

Maarten Steklenburg and Phillipe Senderos will both fancy their chances of making it to Brazil with Switzerland and the Netherlands both on top of their respective groups.

Sweden are in joint second place, with Ireland and Austria, behind Germany. Alex Kacaniklic will be hoping he can help keep them in second place, with Germany a difficult team to catch - the Germans have yet to lose.

Bred Hangeland's Norway are outsiders in 4th place in qualifiers but are not out of the running completely and could still qualify if results go there way.

Things look bleaker for Turkey. Which is bad news for Kerim Frei, who has begun to forge a reputation for himself at international level and would fancy his chances at making the selection for next summer. Their fate isn't yet sealed but it would be bold man who backed them at this stage.

AFRICA

Ghana are a point clear at the top of their qualifying group. Derek Boateng finds himself on the fringes of the national squad currently, but with 40 something caps to his name already, you wouldn't rule him out of making it to the world cup if he can perform well this year.

NORTH AMERICA

Bryan Ruiz and Costa Rica have have a successful campaign so far. Currently 3 points clear of Mexico, but 2 points behind the USA, they are on course to qualify for 2014.

Honorary mentions for Hugo Rodallega, who's Columbian team stand a very good chance of making it to Brazil - a lot better chance then Hugo has of being picked for the team! And also to Fernando Amorebieta. I'm unsure how his chances with the national team rate, but we are unlikely to see Venezuela qualify anyway.

So that's potentially 8 Fulham players at the world cup. Maybe more dependent on signings - or less depending on who we sell!

Realistically, we are likely to see 5 or 6 Fulham players at the world cup. Is that a record?

maybe Roy will pick Stockdale and Sidwell, providing they make it of course :005:
