Thanks for posting that - utterly brilliant. Boxing in the 50s and 60s seemed to attract more great writers and more great writing than any other sport.

Yes, great post. Thanks.  Plimpton and Mailer were great writers.  Very different from each other.  That Sun article was snarky, had a put down tone to it, as if the take-away message was simply 'Beware'.   I remember that rag.  What crap.  Nothing's changed.
